I was pregnant... and REALLY excited about getting some maternity photos done like I did with my son when I was pregnant with him. I came across Alyson upon doing some searches when we moved to the area... she was the actual best. Photos were stunning, and then we had a conversation, and I just loved her. Her commitment to her clients and creating the best experience was sooo obvious. The only reason I didn't say yes then was a financial one... we ended up getting married and all our extra funds went to our small wedding. It was the ONLY regret I had from my pregnancy. I really just wanted to work with her. Fast forward 4 years...Turns out Alyson also does branding photography!! Holy smokes! I had an hour long session with her, just a mini for this go around while her and I co-create my larger full branding shoot. There are several things I really loved about Alyson's work. 1. Her warm approach has you immediately feel comfortable being yourself. No judgement. Just love and warmth. She is funny but not in a cheesy way... she just brings out that smile and happens to capture the beautiful moment RIGHT when it radiates the most. 2. She knows exactly how to have me be (positioned) where it looks natural. I have experienced a few other branding shoots that did not do this. Like I was positioned in a nice pose, but it wasn't me. 3. Alyson makes it sooo easy to imagine my whole family having photos taken by her. Its my dream and its happening next year! 4. You can really see that her heart is in her art. These photos are absolute art pieces that your family will treasure forever or that will have your business standout from the rest. We initially heard of her through countless referrals. From day one, she has made our whole family feel comfortable taking photos even though our toddlers were wiggly worms. We all love her! Nothing about the actual pictures costing extra until AFTER the photo shoot was already done... "Oh, I'll send you a pricing sheet later." Never received it. Got proofs back after two weeks, chose the ones we want, THEN she tells us they're essentially $100 each photo, minimum of 3 photos in the cheapest package. WHAT?? So between the lack of communication, the money we lost to the sitting fee, the amount of time I spent driving to her location (2hrs each way), time and money spent on outfits and the cake, we could not justify spending another $300 for only 3 pictures. We decided it would be time and money better spent to just redo the shoot with another photographer and call it a loss. I'm beyond angry. I booked with her despite hearing stories from mutual friends about their bad experiences and her lack of professionalism. Don't trust other reviews here, most are her friends and family.

I loved how natural and beautiful all the photos looked on her website so I decided to give her a call. From the moment I had my initial call with her it was an amazing experience. She made me so excited for my photoshoot and I could really tell that this is her passion. She had me send her some of the inspo I liked which I really appreciated since of course I had some Pinterest photos saved to my phone. She was very flexible with scheduling and gave me a list of things to bring if I had them which was also really helpful. Her studio is amazing and has such good natural lighting and she has perfect simple backdrops I was hoping for. She even has maternity outfits for you to wear if you need them and she will get as creative as you want adding in flowers etc. One of my favorite things about my shoot with Michele is that she would show me some of the photos as I was taking them - that way I knew if my posture looked good or to move hair out of my face etc. Also they looked sooo good unedited it made me even more excited to see the finished product . She was very patient with my boys and even though the boys weren't really cooperating, she still managed to get really good shots of them and of us as a family portrait.
