One of my favorite parts was the nature center. The staff and naturalists were incredibly kind and helpful, and the space itself is really well done. There's a cute gift shop, educational displays, and even a small children's museum feel with a few live animals to see. It's a great spot to learn something new or play around. Outside, the park is incredible. The trails are extremely well maintained, both the wooded paths and the paved ones, making it perfect for an easy walk or a hike. There's also an outdoor fitness trail that I loved. It has different workout stations along the way, and it's actually really fun, not just functional. It's a great way for both kids and adults to be active. There's also a huge playground and a mini water park area for kids, plus accessible bathrooms and good seasonal amenities. It's very family friendly without feeling overcrowded. If you're into disc golf, this place is a gem. There's a large disc golf course, and they even sell discs and gear right inside the nature center. Another thing worth mentioning is how amazing Great Parks of Hamilton County is overall. They offer so many programs like beginner fishing, guided hikes, plant swaps, art workshops, amphibian hunts, and even owl pellet dissections. Not all of these are specific to this park, but many are hosted here, and it really adds to how special the experience is. Overall, this is an extremely pleasant place to spend time. Whether you're walking the trails, working out, bringing kids to play, or just exploring the nature center, there's something for everyone.

Even on a crowded day there would be enough covered areas for everyone visiting. A nice touch is the covered picnic tables right near the play structures. This is particularly welcomed when visiting with young kids. Several play structures for different ages. There are also swings, a soccer field, hiking trail, and basketball court. The basketball court area is on an island surrounded by parking. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean. Bathrooms at parks aren't usually this clean. The park itself is really clean. All in all, this is a pleasant community park.

When I'm into Pokemon go, I drive around in circles spinning poke-stops and doing gym battles. That is when I would go most often. There are nice trails to walk. For the kiddos, there are multiple playgrounds, a basketball card, baseball fields, and shelters you can rent for parties. The best part of this park though is the creek. We have fun in the creek when it's warm. My kids love catching crawdads when it's warm out. I loved it as a kid too. I still have fun, especially watching them and how happy they are. Pictures will always be great memories. The only bad thing about this park, is that they took out the dog park! The dog park was so nice. There was a section for small dogs, and a section for large dogs. My dog had fun and so did I. I loved getting to play with everyone else's dogs. It was also great that it was so close to the Kenton county animal shelter. I hope they bring it back someday.

We also saw finches, and black birds with bright orange wings. The trails are paved. There is a layer of fine sand that covers much of the trail on the side across from parking. The trail is pretty level on the parking side. There is a playground, but we did not venture over to it. There once was a dog park here. A sign indicates that the park was closed "due to reoccuring damage." The sign also states that they are looking for an alternate location for the Paw Park. Rigt now thw area is a giant field. Dogs must be on a leash at this park. Many people were there with their dogs, including us. When passing eachother, people were using good doggie etiquette. People were picking up after their dogs as well. I took away a star due to the amount of trash. There were a couple of used diapers, cups, many cigarette butts and feminine hygiene products. These were more on the parking side, and many were near the water. Across the river was much cleaner.

The park features a pond with a fountain and ducks, a winding path, park benches and picnicking areas. An additional path that leads up to the Cooperative Extension building that has another fountain and a lovely display garden. On Tuesdays (in season I suppose) it's also the site of a Farmer's Market from 3-6 p.m.

There were also several covered picnic areas if you're looking to host an outdoor party, and even an outdoor basketball court. The walking path was well maintained, albeit a bit hilly at times. Portions of the trail go straight through the trees, which makes you feel extremely connected to all of the nature surrounding you. There was plenty of parking available - and on a Sunday morning around 11, there weren't many people walking. We only ran into two other groups the entire time we were on the trail, which is always a welcome relief when you've got a very friendly dog with you. From afar, the playgrounds didn't seem that busy either, although this may have been due to the cloudy weather. I think we'll definitely work Pride Park into our weekend walking rotation.

Near the front of the park is a flag and monument with a replica of the Liberty Bell. The trail is a 0.4 mile "Jogging Trail." The path is wide, and covered in gravel. The width allows it to accommodate walkers and runners. The trail also doubles (or is it triples?) as a StoryWalk location, and a parcours trail. Pages from a children's book are posted along the trail; 19 pages were poated in all. Our first lap consisted of a leisurely stroll to reading the book. Subsequent laps had us picking up the pace. All of the parcours equipment looks to be well maintained. Playground has a little bit for every. (Under 12 that is.) This is both in age and ability. The playground includes a handicap swing, wheelchair ramp for the climbing structure, and a raised sand table that can accommodate wheelchairs. There is a playhouse and climbing fake logs with a woodland feel. We arrived at the park early, and had the playground to ourselves until about 10:30am. Along with the trail and playground, the park also boasts soccer fields, a baseball field, basketball court, picnic shelters with bbq and a fire pit. The fire pit may only be used by appointment only. As long as it is deemed safe weather, the Anderson Township park system will try and leave a bathroom unlocked.

If you're looking for a quiet place to read or take the kiddos, I recommend any week day morning. The walking trail/path is always clean and clear of debris. It is a quarter mile loop. The playground is one of the best. This tops Ault and Beech Acres and has better aspects than Juliffs. I love bringing my little here! There's a very large shelter by the playground, perfect for parties. It's huge! There's also a couple baseball diamonds so this park must get busy at some point! The only downfall is the name. I think often times it gets confused for the big helicopter park named Veterans Park. This is totally different, in the heart of Anderson. I recommend this park for a quiet getaway!
