He was incredibly helpful in planning out the proposal and choosing the best location for our photos. Fast forward 10 years later - I had an idea to get a kind of "follow up" set with our daughter for our 10th anniversary. Our original photographer, Kayla, was rude and unprofessional. While we were changing outfits, she had an active FaceTime/video call going in the studio. I asked her to turn it off because it was completely inappropriate. Instead of addressing the concern respectfully, she responded in a dismissive way, claimed it "wasn't faced toward me," and then stormed out of the studio. I met the manager, Yvonne about it and she made the situation even worse. She was condescending, did not try to resolve the issue, and offered no apology. I also observed a clear difference in how she interacted with customers she was pleasant and accommodating with white customers, but spoke to us in a way that felt racially biased and disrespectful. The only bright spot was when we were reassigned to Shelby, who was professional, kind, and helped salvage what she could of the session. I'm leaving this review because it sounds like others have raised concerns before and nothing has changed. Management needs to take this seriously and provide real customer-service training and accountability, especially around professionalism and respectful treatment of all customers. This is our maternity shoot and we looked forward to this moment but the entire experience was so bad I even cried afterwards. I wish I can leave no stars on this painful review.

We have been going to Picture People for many years a few times per year. Today, the manager yelled saying "you are 3 minutes over. Out!" Then, I explained my discomfort with the level of customer service from my visit to Shelby and the manager overheard(I believe her name is Yvonne after looking at my last review). As she was overhearing, she rudely cut into our conversation and said "you guys were 4 minutes late. We have other customers. I wasn't speaking to you. I was speaking to Shelby." She then continues to say "Shelby will get in trouble for allowing you to go over the time." Then, Shelby just laughed. That was so rude. I have never experienced a manager act this way. I told her instead of yelling "Out!" she could've simply said "this session is running a bit over. We will need to end soon." She made my mother, my children, and I very uncomfortable.

They both are extremely detail oriented. They made sure my train was perfect at all times, that Matt's tie was straight, you name it, they saw it. At the end of the night, they even offered to stay later to get additional photos. I am extremely grateful for those two. City Hall Wedding For most couples, it's prob. their first time, so having a wedding photographer who is patient and experienced with the process definitely ease a lot of the stress. I remember Steven kinda walk me through the process over the phone before the court wedding date, giving your tips that actually helped a lot. The actually "ceremony" is quick, but sometimes the wait can be a little long, he really takes time to capture each moment for you along each step of the process. Outdoor Shooting I told Steven that I love nature, and I like artsy/cool pictures. Steven suggested morning/evening time where the light has a lot of variety. For me, he is sort of an impressionist, trying to capture beauty throughout the changing light. He is creative, and also open for suggestions. We loved our pictures. We met up with Steven there and he asked us to go stand in the middle, of what seemed like thousands of people, and go pose. Needless to say, we felt SO awkward doing that. The second Steven started talking to us, we got so comfortable. The whole time we were with Steven, we only noticed him and each other. He made us totally forget how nervous we were and made us forget about the hundreds of people walking by and staring at us. I recall him saying he was in technology or something before he started doing photography but I swear, he must have some training in psychology because he like hypnotized us into feeling so calm and comfortable. We had a candidate withdraw their acceptance of their new job, and so we informed Sam a month in advance that we no longer needed his services. He let us know that he "cannot issue refunds" even when work is not rendered. This was written nowhere on the invoice he sent us. Upon review of his website, I see it is buried in his terms and conditions page. Why someone would choose to do business this way, I have no idea. I could not in good conscience take my customers' money and then refuse to refund it even if I performed no work. Sam feels differently.
