    The island spice Oxtail. Yumm

This Caribbean Cuisine wine Caribbean attitude. The restaurant menu do not have much to select but I do like their Oxtail. According to their name they are Haitian cuisine. I have the Oxtail and my wife has fried chicken. Their chicken is fried to very crispy. The chicken tasty. It can come with island spice stew. I am the fan of oxtail. It cook with island spice in slow braise. The meat is separated from the bone. I like the island marinated sauce. It must has a lot ingredient in it. This dishes has a choice of side. It come with plantain and I also choose the mushroom rice. It has dark long grain rice. I like this rice very much. If you come to Caribbean, the time is not matter. As a result, you need to wait for your food to be ready. As I said before. The Caribbean attitude slow and easy.

Warm friendly staff. This place so welcoming. A group of friends and myself initially entered to purchase T-Vice tickets for the All White Party that was occuring that night. After a quick smell we decided to have a few quick snacks before we departed. They have the greatest stuffed Haitian patties I've ever tasted outside of south Florida. The patties were light, flacky, buttery, and loaded with meat and flavor. They also carried Kremas ( kinda like a pina colada/egg nog - but thicker). You coud purchae it by the cup or bottle. They are not cheap with the serving sizes - huge. But they don't short change you on the flavor. Food was so good we actually started dancing in the dining room. We were so ready for the great night we had. Later that night they transformed the restaurant to a great dance hall. Band played beautifully, bar was nice, fresh food was available for purchase, and security was even kind enough to walk us across the street (yeah all those lanes) to our car. Can't wait to go back ...mwen beswen pate...

This was my first time ordering a Haitian food from here. Very pleasant customer service, cute little place. The only downside to me is they do not put enough meats..plates have mostly rice and as you can see only few pieces of meats but I must admit the food is delicious!!! I just wish it would be more meat per portions

5.00 no complaints - just being cheap and greedy

I got the fried chicken and fries 5.00 special-better than expected / they didn't understand my english over the phone and just hung up on me- Haitians seem to have a certain attitude (rude)

One menu in the place. Share it. Coconut shrimp seems to be the frozen type and is served with ketchup. Pass on this. The fried pork was good as was the goat stew. Plantains were great. Service was ok, hampered a bit by a language barrier.

Best Haitian food in town! The Griot was top notch! The Rice and Beans, Plantains, everything! Definitely reminded me of a lot of the spots I would visit in Miami. It was my girl's first time there, even though she's Haitian, she never really tried Haitian food before. She certainly felt the spirit of her ancestors talking to her through the food. It was a spiritual experience. Ok, I may have exaggerated a bit...but you get the point. Bottom line, the Griot is worth the try, within itself!

Came here last night and got the griot meal. Was very delicious. Reminded me of the Haitian food I would eat back home in Fort Lauderdale/ Miami area. The plaza that it's in also has like a Haitian bakery so I love that. Will return it's a nice spot!

Ordered the Stewed Chicken with Akra( Malanga Fritters) absolutely divine.

Well worth the drive from south TPA. The food is amazing, divine , taste buds are completely screaming in angelic harmony of peace and serenity and joy. The stewed chicken, with the rice and beans and the sauce has my whole world rocked. This is what I have been missing all this time.Truly in love with this Haitian cuisine, reminds me of my trip to Saint Suzanne Haiti. Will be coming back here to enjoy more dishes! Food arrived hot and quick, everyone was welcoming and friendly!

Is my grandma in there??!!! I am pretty picky when it comes to my Haitian cuisine. I myself am a great cook because I learned from my grandma...she Can cook her butt off! So I didn't have too great of expectations. Also because I'm not from the area, I went there on a whim. Holy pikliz! My husband and I both ordered our own plates. I have goat in sauce, he had fried pork. Both plates came with white rice and sweet pea sauce. As an appetizer we had the fritay platter. To finish it off, I had fresh lemonade and my husband got passion fruit juice. I'm giving this place 5 stars because I was so pleased with everything I ate and drank. In addition it was a great atmosphere. The service was very efficient and people were so kind. I would be a regular at this place if I lived here!

I could eat here everyday! My goodness! Alez is the second Haitian restaurant that I have visited since coming to Tampa and let me just say, I don't need to try anywhere else! Wow! Everything from customer service, to presentation of the food, to most importantly, the taste of the food was on point! I got the fired red snapper and it was finger licking!! You can tell it was well marinated and then fried crisp! The rice and beans were perfect! Banan and pikliz on point! The other people I was dining with got griot, oxtails, and stewed chicken. We also got accra as an appetizer and of course, on point! Everything was just SO good! This is delicious authentic Haitian food and I could eat here everyday. No exaggeration.

    A very welcoming place!

This food was good!!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered fried pork and that comes with white rice (and bean sauce) or rice and peas. Also couldn't resist grabbing a flaky beef pate to go -- honestly, I might love it even more than a Jamaican patty. Washed it all down with a classic Haitian Fruit Champagne soda. The turkey was perfectly deep-fried yet still tender, and that rice? Some of the best Caribbean rice I've ever had. If you're in Tampa and craving authentic Haitian flavors, I highly recommend Bon Zanmi Establishment had a good amount of seating available and was nicely decorated. It seems they may host events here at night. The lady at the bar taking orders was helpful and very friendly. I would definitely come back if in Tampa.

Haitian food north of downtown…read more I was in the area and decided to try out a new restaurant. As I'm the only person in my family who loves Haitian food, I decided to try George's Family Cuisine. They have a cafeteria set-up, but it's mostly empty. There's a menu, but you're better off just asking what they have, because the menu doesn't correspond (nor do the prices listed!). On my visit, they had black rice (rice and beans, black in color from being cooked with mushrooms) and goat, so that's what I ordered. I think there was a veggie stew and some sort of chicken dish as well. There are a few small tables in the restaurant, but the employees were sitting at those, so without asking my preference, they served my food in stryofoam (thank goodness I do live close enough to take the food to go!). The portion was huge, enough for two meals. Inexplicably, maybe because they didn't have salad or a veggie dish as a side, I was given a whole (peeled but uncooked) banana. She was about to wrap up my meal when I asked about pikliz, which they do have in the fridge. She gave me the dregs of the pikliz. The total cost was $24 including tax. The food was... fine. The goat was tender and not too gamy. The rice was bland. The pikliz were not spicy or acidic enough, so I guess I'm glad I was at home and could add hot sauce to compensate for the lack of seasoning in the rice and goat. I guess I'll have to keep on driving up to the USF area when I am craving Haitian food.
