I ordered jerk chicken Rasta pasta and was surprised it was linguine and not penne pasta. There were also no bell peppers like the typical Rasta pasta. It was very spicy which was fine but had no other flavor. It was also very greasy, after I warmed it up there was an excessive amount of oil in the bottom of my bowl. Was craving oxtail and this was the only place open close to us since we waited so late to get food. This was an authentic Jamaican place as far as I am concerned and for what I have witnessed in Florida so far. I ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and plantains. The oxtail themselves were very tender. They gave me a good portion size with lots of meat on the oxtail. I loved that as a lot of times in Dallas, they will serve you straight bones with no meat lol. So the oxtail was good. I would say I would've loved more spice. It was no spice at all. I like spicy food so definitely had to add plenty hot sauce. I think if there was a lil spice naturally, it would've been better. The rice and peas were decent. texture was good but flavor was a lil bland to me. The sweet plantain was really good and can never go wrong with that. Hands down the best Jamaican food I have ever had! The oxtails fell off the bone! The Goat curry was flavorful and juicy and the conch fritters were fried just right. Of all the Caribbean cuisine establishments I have been too in Tampa (there aren't many), I received the best customer service here, thanks to the restaurant owner's son,Junior. What a pleasant young man! A casual dining spot in a strip plaza. The menu prices are actually reasonable as well. I opted to try the oxtail with brown rice and plantains while the hubs had the jerk pork with cabbage. We also ordered a side of Mac n cheese. I've had better jerk pork so that wasn't my fave. But everything was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the oxtail; tender, flavorful and it was a great portion size. The Mac n cheese was delicious as well. Will order again! I've only been here once for take-out, but this is my new favorite hidden gem in my neighborhood. Located in a strip mall near the Amscot, there was plenty of parking available on a Sunday. Since I had looked at people's pictures of the menu ahead of time, I knew exactly what I wanted to order: the curry chicken with cabbage and rice and peas. The curry chicken came with three generous on-bone hunks of chicken in a flavorful but not too spicy sauce with a couple of potatoes. The meat was tender and fell off the bone. Huge portions of rice and cabbage accompanied it, and it was easily enough for two meals. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the food was ready. The meal was very reasonably priced and came with a fountain soda. Both people working were extremely friendly and nice, and when I saw them scooping a frozen dessert and inquired about it, one of the workers gave me a huge scoop of their mango Italian ice to try - for free - yum! I was delighted that they serve both Jamaican and Haitian food. I ordered the griyo with rice and peas and stewed cabbage and the curry goat with black beans and yellow rice and sweet plantains. Everything was delicious. The griyo was tender and perfectly cooked. The rice and peas were fine but delectable eaten with the pikliz. The curry goat was well seasoned. They served the meat in large chunks on the bone, but it was clearly cooked long enough that you could cut the meat off the bone with a spoon. Serving sizes were huge. I ordered a whole red snapper, garlic potatoes, sweet plantain, and deviled crabs. This was my first time trying deviled crabs and they were absolutely delicious. There wasn't much crab inside but the breading was also delicious. The red snapper was moist and flavored well. The garlic potatoes were kind of bland and the plantain was delicious. The staff is very nice and patient. They're located pretty close to other interests and shopping. So if you wanted a quick bite while shopping then this is a good place to go. I also ordered a side of mac and chrese with some banana pudding. I had to order through Grub hub which seemed kind of pricey. The food arrived in a timely manner. The bag was stapled shut. I opened the bag and the first thing I see is a container with Red velvet cake. I did not order cake. I opened my meal to find no rice nor fish. I was sent chicken. I don't eat chicken. I've asked at least 7 people and no one knew at all where could I find one? They keep telling that that kind of food is in Key West, Miami area. But guess what?
