FIND SOMEONE ELSE! I have been trying to get reimbursed for 2 months for a procedure done by Dr. Beshai, who refuses to submit the appropriate paperwork to my insurance. I have tried to contact him, but he won't return my messages. His billing staff is either unavailable or rude. I saw him a total of 5 minutes. I was completely serviced by the Physician's Assistant. Had a video call on 5/22 with Dr. Beshai's PA Stephanie for my mom who is hard of hearing. My mom wants to know what was said in the call with Stephanie but no notes were posted in her chart which Stephanie said that she would do. Waiting one week now and I keep calling the office to get the after visit summary but to no avail. The office staff tells you that the Dr and PA are with other patients like you don't matter. When I ask for the office manager, the PA or the Dr., they say the same thing - they are with other patients and you need an appointment to speak with them...REALLY???? Just to get the after visit summary is like pulling teeth! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! The office staff hung up on me twice today 5/29/2024 just to get notes on the video call a week ago! What an ego, doesn't even listen to his patients and only assumes you are there for meds. Completely wasted my time. Only wants to give you pain shots and doesn't care if the insurance pays or not. He's a complete A-holes and the other reviews are from friends and family. There are many old people in his office that might actual believe and follow his this less than quality doctor. Careful people. Look up his reviews at the Mayo Clinic and in the South is less than average but it's so high on Yelp??? I won't be returning and told him that. Getting meds are not the issue, I can get many. But if you don't want to pop pills and seek alternate pain relief and have positive communication with your doctor. He's not the one. And during Covid-19 my husband and I both lost our jobs, and we tried our best to make payments as we tried to keep our home. I was in tremendous pain from a car accident and he actually gave me trigger point injection without sedation. It was painful that I passed out. I told him I was in excruciating pain and he actually had the nerve to give me 4 Xanax. The pain was so bad, I carried a towel around pacing crying so hard. He's so concerned about offering his patients any narcotics that he allowed me to suffer. I had a brain injury that was bad always confused and disoriented. It's been years since my accident but I thought I was certaineed I posted something to warn people that he's more concerned about him getting into trouble giving his patients medication they actually need. I'm still in pain to this day. Turned out that I have fibromyalgia which I never even heard about before my accident and at times it can be very painful . Can't be treated faster than that, I had back pain on the lower part, went to the MRI, on my way to home, thought to call Dr. Bishai's office, they said "if you are in pain, come over now" couldn't believe it, drove directly to the Irvine office. I had a terrible experience with Dr. Beshai. He has zero bedside manner, bad communication and didn't even do the procedure that I was referred to him to do. I was referred to Dr. Beshai for my chronic backpain after the previous surgery. He's very confident about the diagnosis and its treatment. It's because many of doctors didn't explain well about my source of pain. I have gone through many pain doctors, and Dr.Beshai gave me the relief based on his good practice and experience. Although the pain has come back later, I appreciate for his diagnosis and the long term strategy to deal with my back pain. I had a severe reaction to a lumbar injection and ended up in the emergency room with a severe migraine and head pressure. after not being able to stand up for 12 days straight, Dr Beshai denied that it was from the lumbar injection and refused to see me any earlier than my check up or refer me to a neurologist. I went back in for the check up for him to tell me the same thing and have extremely rude bedside manner. A 14 day migraine with dizziness and nausea that only resolves when you lay down cannot be anything but a post-epidural migraine. My side affects were not taken seriously and although they can happen with this kind of procedure, this doctor could have cared much more. read more

So 1 year ago I gave Dr Beshai and his office 5 stars. I returned to this office this year and cannot believe the difference. At the end of my visit Dr. Beshai instructed the nurse to submit for an MRI for my neck pain. However he never mentioned it in his note or signed off on his note for over 2 weeks. It was never done and despite multiple calls to the office Nothing has been done, and I haven't spoken to one person who even cares. Ive given up. Referred for chronic pain for autoimmune issues. Dr. Beshai only wanted to discuss spine issues, asked no questions about my pain or offer any ideas about how to help nor show any empathy. It is my opinion that Dr. Beshai is the best pain management doctor. He is the only doctor who has been able to help me in years of searching for relief. My wife gets credit for discovering Dr Beshai at this office. After years of suffering with lower back pain other practioners had failed to relieve she decided to try someone new, I'm sure glad she did. She was amazed at how quickly he identified her problem after looking at her MRI. After a botched surgery by a different Dr, I tagged along on her next appointment to see if he could help ease my pain. I was very impressed with his Mission Viejo office. It was clean, the staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating to my work schedule ( I have been an RN for 40 years). After suffering from sciatic for 27 years I had given up on getting any help. I had started the process of finding a solution 4 other times with zero results. When I changed PCP's in October of 2016 he encouraged me to see Dr. Beshai and I VERY reluctantly made an appointment. Dr. Beshai worked with me over a 6 month period and, although the sciatic could not be cured completely (problem with my body not his skill), we have found a solution to keep the discomfort to a minimum and improve my lifestyle. So beyond grateful I was referred here by The primary Dr for my back and nick pain , Greatest medical decision I have ever made was to come to their facility for treatment. First off my physician Alfred Beshai has to be one of the greatest pain medicine docs I have ever had the pleasure of being treated by. He is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, patient, helpful, professional, kind and most importantly understanding to what you have to say. If you're looking for a pain doc that will listen and educate you on what the issue is and what he will be prescribing to you and different routes you can take my experience with other doctors I've been treated by, then this treatment center is for you. Nothing is better then feeling comfortable and being able to trust your doctor which is a very nice feeling. The girls and the rest of the office staff are always welcoming and nice to talk to in the lobby while waiting to be seen by the docs. I guess what makes it so great is that I feel very welcomed here and everyone is extremely nice, knowledgeable and willing to listen to the issue at hand. Very professional staff, very nice/clean facility, very helpful trustworthy judgement free staff. What more can you ask for when dealing with very serious health/pain issues that can be around for possible longterm injuries. Dr. Beshai was referred to me by my Orthopedic Doctor. I have a herniated disc in my lower back that had been bothering me for 18 years. The last episode started in July of 2017 and had not gone away. Getting worse as time went on. Finally got to the point where I was walking with a cane and could not drive anymore. I went in for a consultation in February 2019 and was very comfortable with the details of the proposed treatment plan. I was scheduled for three sessions about four weeks apart. After the first session I immediately felt the pain subsiding. After the second session I went on a business trip overseas for 4 weeks and did not feel any pain. I came back after the trip for my last session and still feeling good and no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Beshai for anyone suffering from back pain. Well, had reduce this from 5 stars to 2 stars. Really should be one star, but the staff was very good with follow up. Take away: 1) Know your options before you see this practitioner. 2) Know what they are prescribing as far a pain injections. Peer reviewed medical journal article on what he was doing to me showed 25% failure. He did not acknowledge this prior to medication, and fought it even though I produced the documentation. 3) He prescribed a spinal stimulator implant which was totally uncalled for (I am a registered nurse, so know how to research these kind of things, confirmed by other providers). NOTE that this procedure was eliminated from California workers comp insurance reimbursement because of it's dicey results (can cause huge harm due to spinal impact). 4) Google his name. You will see less than desirable type of practice in the inland empire (lower knowledge customers, ambulance, etc.). 5) Make sure you ask about business partnerships with other providers (feed each other?). Dr Beshai has been treating me for a number of months for residual lower leg pain after major back surgery. He is an incredible physician in regard to my pain relief from my spinal injections. I am a Johns Hopkins trained RN and I am giving 5 stars to Dr. Alfred Beshai. He is a well trained Cleveland Clinic doctor who really knows what he is doing. I have a very thin disc at L4-5 level that causes me constant pain. I was referred to him by my neurosurgeon Dr. Jason Liauw (who is also top notch). Unfortunately my health insurance does not cover his care, so I have to go to another pain management doctor :( But before I realized this I was able to experience a facet block that completely took care of my pain) I wish I could have continued with him for the nerve ablation. His practice is new and the office staff are a bit clueless about how to run a medical practice. I would give them more like 3 stars. They have a long way to go until they will be at the level of their doctor's expertise. So if you go there make double sure that they take your health insurance. Here on the Westside, we do not have a lot of access to Cleveland Clinic trained physicians, so having him here is great. He is honest, very knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. Here's my take on reviews. One, or a group, HAS TO make an impact on me to get my attention and to especially to get me to take my time to write up a review. REST ASSURED, this man, and his staff has done all of above to me and my mother. My mother has been in debilitating pain in her neck starting in the early part of 2016. Her pain was so great, it was to the point to where she couldn't walk 5 ft without asking to sit down. It was excruciating. (Talk about breaking my heart). I truly felt that there was no solution. I was referred to Dr Beshai by one of the Dr's on our team, (My mother and I have the same Dr's). We went to Dr Beshai for a consultation and my impression of him has been from day one to be not only positive but attentive, compassionate, honest, EXTREMELY HUMBLE and in search of a solution. This man is FAR FROM an ego maniac and anyone who says different, (EH-HEM, EH-HEM), obviously has an issue with defining another human and also an issue with their own authenticity. Let me be clear, I am not a personal friend of the Dr nor am I a family member. I am simply a man that loves his mother and would NEVER EVER EVER, risk her well being to anyone unless I felt 100% confident that the Dr at hand was capable of taking GREAT, not good, GREAT care of her. I am THAT protective. He has brought my mother to the place of being able to walk again. I use one word to describe what he has done for my mother. Liberation. I do not mince words. I actually get emotional when I think about what this man has done for my mother. Dr. Beshai was referred to me by my Health care organization. I was was looking for alternate solutions to spine surgery. At Dr. Beshais office I was met with professionalism by staff and himself. The treatment was not enjoyanble, having needles placed precisely into your spinal chord but overall the treatment did help for a few months. After the pain returned he patiently advised me on surgical options to consider. There was no pressure to take drugs or surgery just honest input for me to make my own decisions. This physician has no interest in the care of patients. The only motivation is to see as many patients in a day as possible to support his extensive overhead. He takes no responsibility for his treatments. After a treatment went badly and informing the office the doctor refuses to call back to inquire about my condition and what can we do to make it right. His staff informed me that his recommendation was that if I was in discomfort to go to the ER. He obviously doesn't know how an ER works, what they will treat, and how they treat. How does a doctor just ignore you when something they did has caused bodily harm. His office demeanor has little to be desired. He doesn't speak in easy to understand language. He thinks you're a third year resident and knows exactly what he's talking about. His explanations are very incomplete and his general interest in your specific condition is massively lacking. He just wants to get a procedure done whether it's right, wrong, or indifferent and with as little interaction with the patient as possible. He does not appreciate patient questions and will just become annoyed. There are are lots of other pain management doctors available. Do your body a favor and seek help from a doctor who isn't as neglectful as this one. read more

This Mission Viejo office has been a great experience. When you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and the front office staff are so kind and helpful. They call you to remind you about your appointment the day before and follow up the day after your procedure to see how you're feeling. Dr. Beshai has been so helpful with my back pain. Not only is he kind and professional but he tells you exactly what he's doing and asks if you're doing ok during the process. He also follows up with my MD and keeps him in the loop with everything he is doing. After my first pain management experience, I was relieved from about 75% of the pain I was having. Worst experience of my life! Horrible bed side manner. Referred by a top neurologist. The doctor refused to discuss my brain condition, chiari malformation. We moved on to my herniated disc and numerous back problems. He wrote me an opioid prescription I never even asked for and sent me on my way. Days later I threw out my back (I just had a baby nine weeks ago via c-section and have a 2 year old at home). I called the office and surprisingly they said they could get me in to help with an injection. I was in excruciating pain getting on the table with my "lower half"exposed. And he promptly began poking me with needles. The nurse left The room which made me very uncomfortable and 1 injection in, I was in tears. The pain was more than I could handle. The doctor showed no compassion and told me I should get another MRI. I asked for medication alternatives and he offered me NONE. Not a muscle relaxer, or a PT referral, nothing. The doctor abruptly left the room and I never saw him again. Bottoms line-I feel the doctor did not listen and he certainly did not help me in any way. His manners were disgraceful! He controlled every conversation and talked right over top of me when I tried to speak. Looking forward to my MRI and some proper help. I won't be returning again! read more

When I first went to Dr. Beshai at the recommendation of my primary physician, I was almost unable to walk due to severe sciatic pain in my right leg. He was gracious, caring and explained what I could expect. First referred me for an MRI. Then I came back. He spoke at length about the results of the MRI and said that epidural steroid shots, in conjunction with my doing regular exercises for sciatica, could alleviate the problem by decreasing the inflammation of the sciatic nerve. About at week after the first shots I was again walking normally. Came back for the second in the series. I was back to normal, but hoped the third shots would make the situation a lasting one. Just got those this morning. I go back in two months for a followup that he recommended. Also told me, any time I had a problem call him immediately. Does that sound like a non-caring physician? I don't know why others had such negative experiences, I certainly have not. I like the man. He is thorough, gentle, and explains what is going on at all times. Only saw this Dr for a consultation, won't return either!! (IN FACT IF I COULD I'd GIVE him a MINUS 5 STARS.... I WOULD!!)I did not have an issue with his procedures, I would be HAPPY to get off pills!! He seemed to think I wanted more (if that were the case I could have stayed with my last Dr., but I chose to branch out to get a different approach to my pain!!) Plus he corrected me 3 times as to the location of my primary Dr., which he was wrong!! Upon talking I mentioned I had extensive nerve testing on my lower extremities! He knew the dr as a pain management Dr., at which time I mentioned I wasn't aware of that as I only saw him for my nerve damage & there was nothing mentioned about him being in pain management. He insisted he was (the other Dr) was pain management and what was MY POINT TO SEE HIM (Beshai) if I already saw the other Dr., was I looking for pills and the other Dr wasn't into prescribing them?!?!? I kept telling him I did not see the other one FOR PAIN AT ALL!! He wasn't a nice person at all..... I felt that he thought I WAS JUST WASTING HIS TIME!!
