Got a recommendation of the spicy crispy chicken sandwich... was old. Or maybe stale. Bread was rock are which was odd as the chicken was soggy. Pickles had an odd faded coloring. Wouldn't recommend eating here. read more

Boycott the Alger Shell station! I asked if I could park in the parking lot because my commuter bus to work could only pick up there because of the ice and snow and to avoid waking in the dark later on a busy road with no sidewalks. They told me no, and that my car will be towed. Mick, the new owner of this station is a heartless man without sense of community. Please boycott them. Gas is cheaper at Bow Hill anyways. read more

I don't usually take out the time to write reviews. However, I've received awesome service at this Shell today. It was snowing hard outside and really icy, the owner and employee helped me to my car by taking the extra step. Much appreciated and loved the personal touch of care. I liked how they mentioned if they were out on product or something that I would like them to bring in, they will try to order for me next time. Good to see that as I won't have to drive to far to buy last minute essential if ever needed. Must go-to place. Also they have a wide selection beer and wine that was hard to find anywhere else. Great prices for the convenience nearby. Keep it up you guys rock! read more

While meeting family to deliver a pet ladder for our aging shared family pet we were rudely scolded for being parked in the parking area by the coffee stand. the alleged employee came out waving her arms yelling at us that this is not a hang out! you need to move it along! we were literally there for 5 minutes prior to this angry woman then yelling in our faces that we should move to other areas of the parking lot?? We were obviously not a threat and also would have moved over had she came out with a much kinder attitude. Needless to say her face will be posted all over social media and maybe she'll see a caravan of us soon so she has something to yell about! read more

This used to be a great store for the local community and people traveling through! They had great staff that were friendly and knew the regulars and would make sure to have or get what regulars bought frequently!! But about a year or so ago they got new owners, which has completely changed the store and the atmosphere!! The new owners could care less about the locals! they don't care if they have what you regulars buy, and they have been rude to several of us! Also they up'd the prices on most everything in the store right after purchasing the store! Wish it was never sold and still had same staff and wish it still had a good atmosphere!!! read more

I've been going to this market for years now. Usually stop here on the way down to Mt. Vernon to pick up some snacks. I just recently tried some of the hot food here. I picked up some BBQ beef burritos and they were pretty darn tasty. They have better hot food selections here then my local Sudden Valley Market. Only things they need to work on here is the friendliness of the staff. Theres just been a couple occasions where they were rather unfriendly. The bathrooms also need better maintance as well. Otherwise great spot for a quick fill up, and there's also a coffee stop in the hub of the gas station! read more

I drove home very late from Vancouver BC and although this place was closed and there were no people or cars in sight, I liked that it was well lit and had enough security cameras for me to feel somewhat safe while being a young chick pumping gas at 2am. read more

I've lived in Alger for 15 years now and this is my absolute last resort for gas/snacks/etc. The employees are so rude! They all absolutely hate filling propane tanks. I'm actually here right now. I went in and asked for someone to help with propane and she rolled her eyes, sighed and said "okay well you're going to have to wait". I've been here for 16 minutes...still waiting. Its not even busy! And I've watched them take out the garbage while I wait! Do not stop here and support this gas station. read more

I live by here and workers have known me since I was ten. Yogi is really nice, they are all really nice and hard working. I like eating baked stuff from here sometimes, like banana bread or snickerdoodles. I also like going here when I want a huge snapple or junk food. They leave the lights on at night when nobody can be there. read more
