The food is your typical breakfast diner style, nothing fancy. The server (cannot remember her name) has been there for many years and she is friendly and stay on top of everything. Food was mediocre, service was slow. Our server never cracked a smile. Front sidewalk was dangerous, it was so cracked.

Stopped here on our way through the area. They close at 2:00 pm and we got there just before. We found a booth and our server came over to get our drink order. She said they were well known for their breakfast and they served it all day if we wanted it. This town is known as the Walleye Capital of the world and they serve a Walleye sandwich which I had to order. Came with a side of onion rings. When she brought it the piece of fish was large than the bun. It was absolutely delicious and so were the rings. My wife order the Ruben with homemade soup as a side. It was also hot and delicious. We both enjoyed a wonderful meal and were not rushed to leave when it was 2:00 pm. Terrific service and food. If you like fish I recommend the Walleye. read more

We just stopped in for breakfast. It was our first visit to Alice's. Our meal was delicious! My husband and I both had a pancake. They warn you that it's big, and that is NOT an understatement! It was bigger than the plate it came on, and was fluffy and delicious! We could easily have shared one. Also had ham and eggs, also perfectly cooked. Coffee also very good, with them bringing a pot to our table for refills. Reasonable prices, great service and very clean surroundings. A must stop if you're in Baudette! read more

- Slow service. - Breakfast platter was just ok. Asked for the fries to be extra crispy and they were soggy. Quite the opposite, I think. Eggs tasted powdered. Bacon wasn't crispy. Huge portions though. - Co-worker had the cheeseburger and it's pretty hard to mess that up but he said it wasn't very tasty at all. - Clam chowder was almost inedible. The worst dining experience I've had in a long time. I don't think I've ever walked out of a restaurant before... but this situation definitely called for it. When we arrived, I was so hungry and a little bit queasy from being on the boat all day and I was looking forward to some breakfast food. I ordered chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, and a pancake. First, the cook in the back started singing "Baby Got Back" loudly which was annoying but tolerable. Then he started making comments about the food. Saying things like "I just dumped the pancake batter straight out of the bucket and I don't have a spatula... I'm not going to charge them for this pancake, you can just give it to her for free" I'm not sure what the problem was with my pancake but being that this place specializes in serving breakfast food, it seems like they should be able to cook a decent pancake. And if the first one didn't turn out... don't serve it, and make a new one! So at this point I was extremely disappointed that I wasn't going to get the pancake I was looking forward to. Then the cook was coughing and the waitress said to him "If one of the costumers get sick I'm going to blame you". Being that I can't see what is going on, I have to assume that he is sick and coughing on the food. Which is disgusting! Then he said "How is this egg supposed to be cooked?" And the waitress said "scrambled" and he said "Oh sh*t!" And she said "Can't you read". He said, "My nostrils are above my eyes right now" (I'm not really sure what that means but it sounds gross). And now I have no idea how my eggs are going to turn out. My stomach was already unsettled and by that time I felt like I might have been sick, so we left and went somewhere else. As someone who has previously worked in the food industry for 13 years... One of the most important things for the staff to know is that your costumers should not have to hear your conversations. They are spending money to enjoy good food and a relaxing dining experience. And you are being paid to provide that for them. Oh and a message to the waitress... I know it might seem cool to be proud of the fact that you dropped out of high school. But when you are still making a minimum wage in a restaurant your whole life and you have to work past 60 years old because you can't retire, it won't seem so cool then. I wish there was a negative stars option. The waitress was rude and she was rude before I even opened my mouth. She managed to get every part of my order wrong. I ordered a mushroom and Swiss omelette. I got an omelette with ham, peppers, onions and cheddar (which was cold when it arrived). Instead of wheat toast I got white. I finally got my water after the third time I asked (in 45 minutes). When she brought it she slammed it down on the table. I was actually afraid she had spit in it! Others in our group had the same experience. Normally I am the type of person to let things go but if you walk in and see a red head approach RUN to the next restaurant! read more

I had the liver and onions. The liver was tasty. Mashed potatoes were a little runny but not horrible. Minnesota wild rice soup was very good. Service was average. We went to this restaurant at the end of March. It was pretty empty. I understand that during the spring, summer and fall this place is very busy. read more

This was one of the worst breakfast stops ever. Biscuits and gravy was on the special board. The only thing special about it was how bad they could screw up one of the simplest recipes ever. Hash browns were soggy, gravy tasted like wall paper paste, service was slow, but at least our waitress was grumpy. read more

Worst service ever. Two hours waiting for food we never got. Watch 3 other groups leave before we did. The straw was when the 4th table to order AFTER us got their food.
