So don't bother making an appointment here it's first come, first serve apparently. The waiting area could use a good cleaning. Most of the chair handles had some stain on them. Removing the chairs and vacuuming was definitely needed. Since this is an urgent care, you'd think they'd wipe the door handle down every 4-5 patients but they don't. I saw 6-8 people come in and out during that time and they don't clean. Most people coming here are sick. Don't touch your face. The staff that saw me was really nice. Younger lady. I have had an appointment on my calendar for the last six months, and I've been trying to get a hold of them for the last few weeks after being in a serious car collision to be seen sooner. No call back despite leaving multiple messages. I've been trying to call all day yesterday and today's appointment, never received a phone call, voicemail, or text message confirming my appointment. I feel that I have no choice but to switch doctors, if I cannot even be seen for my followup appt with my PCP after a major car collision which totaled my vehicle or get confirmation of a long standing scheduled appointment. It doesn't matter how good my doctor is when their support staff and scheduling is severely deficient. Best case scenario: when you do have an appointment, expect to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I do not recommend this practice for these reasons. It is unfortunate. Also, this practice appears to be primarily HMO, but I have PPO, which is very good insurance and means the doctor is getting paid extremely well to see me. So imagine how it must be for everyone else...

We were given a 4:00 PM appointment by the doctor herself, yet were made to wait over an hour with no explanation or apology. We were never seen by the doctor, She refused to review recent bloodwork from Hoag ER and instead sent us for new labs unnecessarily, wasting our time and money. This isn't the first issue. A few months ago, this same office ran a thyroid test on my wife and sent us to Hoag ER. Hoag re-ran the test and told us the results from SCKE were completely inaccurate. Two major errors affecting the same patient is unacceptable. Patients deserve respect, accurate testing, and doctors who value their time. We experienced none of that here. When I first walked into his office, I could barely walk, I could not stand up straight, I was in so much pain, it was debilitating and had affected my life so significantly there were days I couldn't leave my bed. Pain management is a process and it takes a ton of patience. Dr. Barnhill has the patience of a saint. He has systematically addressed every source of pain and resolved it. He is extremely thorough when explaining my procedures. He makes me feel safe. He eases my anxiety. He is an incredible doctor. With my permission he has worked with my care team for the best possible results and most successful long-term solutions. He is standing in the room with me at my exact appointment time, I am never waiting for him. His office is easy to come in and out of and planning my appointments around the rest of my day are very easy because of his punctuality. Elena is incredible. She is his office staff she gets authorizations for procedures on the spot.
