Worst Dr. I have ever been to. My husband and I went to see her to establish a primary care doctor. She saw me for 5 min. and disregarded all my concerns. She didn't read my intake paperwork and she told me that I "looked healthy" but I had come in with paperwork stating I had multiple issues that I wanted to be addressed, she then told me I should go see other Drs and gave me a referral to a gynecologist. I got my bill a month later and she had charged me for items that I never requested and were never performed... "alcohol use screening, depression screening, 15 min of therapy, a brief emotional exam" She charged my husband for the same thing and he said she never did any of those things and he didn't request them and all he needed was a refill on his thyroid medication. read more

Seemed to not care about my needs and brushed off everything I said. I felt belittled and anxious the whole appointment, I just wanted to leave. She told me that all my health concerns were due to my depression and that she couldn't help me unless I exercised and ate more. She didn't give me suggestions rather just stated facts I already knew/told her that I was aware of. Bed side manner was horrible and she didn't look professional. This was my first "big girl" appointment by myself and I wish I stayed with my other primary doctor. Amendment! The "office manager" INSISTED I come in to get my refill and during a PANDEMIC, with Gov orders TO STAY HOME, they refused a teledoc. They said my meds are "controlled substance and are carefully monitored", therefore requiring an "in-person" appointment. Say it the way it is, you want to bill Aetna and collect your "generic office visit." Great, I don't want COVID from your patients sitting in the waiting room unless we are ALL there for prescriptions! I have ZERO wrong that would warrant going. I called Aetna to complain. They do NOT care. They are at the mercy of the doctor and can not dictate policy. I canceled my appointment and the DOCTOR! I refuse to go to such a selfish doctor that would potentially jeopardize their patient for billing revenue. Despite canceling my appointment: 1. in writing 2. via voice mail, I STILL got 3 calls to remind me of my appointment??? I picked up on the 4th call and was frustrated and mad that they kept calling after I plainly said we were through (both me and hubby.) The 5th call was a voice mail from the "OFFICE MANAGER" stating they were terminating me for a bad attitude.... LOL Sure thing I have a BAD ATTITUDE! I was not going to update this but I would not be assisting others looking for a reputable doctor. The front office is inept, unprofessional. I have really appreciated Dr.Napoli as my new GP over the past several months. I lost my other doctor when he was transferred from the practice I went to. She has listened to my questions patiently and answered everything without me feeling rushed even when I know she has a busy schedule. What I appreciate the most is her wholistic approach to health and encouraging as many natural options as available to treat symptoms before medication or in collaboration with medicine as needed. I know some negative comments have been about the front office staff. I found the office is really receptive to feedback in this area if you speak up about a poor interaction. Until in walks Dr. Skinny Mini Perfect who immediately became defensive with my questions regarding my health treatment? Her way or the highway... My expectations were high & her office dropped the ball on my attempt for an ins. Approval over a week now & no resolution or care that I'm having pain..no follow through at all! Dr. Napoli is a very sweet person. I don't know whether her priorities are not in line with good medicine or her staff is incompetent, or a bit of both. I take my blood pressure regularly 3-4 times a week. It is usually 110/60. One day in May, 2015 my blood pressure was 180/110. I called Dr. Napoli's office right away in the morning. I was told she would call me back. She did not. I called again in the afternoon. No call back. The following day I called Dr. Napoli again. I was told she would call me back. Not having received a call back I called another physician's office which I had been considering to go to as my PCP. Her nurse immediately called me back and told me to go immediately to the hospital. Which I did. By the time I got to the hospital my blood pressure was 236/180. However, the emergency Dr stated that was not the problem. My heart rate was 26. I was scheduled immediately for a Pacemaker. Had I waited another day for Dr. Napoli to call back I might have stroked out or my heart could have stopped beating. Irresponsible on the part of Dr. Napoli and her staff! Won't be returning. I needed to find a new doctor in the area for some minor back pain and a routine physical. First, Dr. Napoli was 45 minutes late, spent 10 minutes with me and seemed more interested in prescribing me something than figuring out how to fix the problem. In addition to the lackluster service, she and her staff ended up charging me $275 for simply being a new patient (was never informed of this fee throughout any of the process). This was in addition to being charged $225 for "Preventative Care, New Patient" and $37 more for her precious counsel (dispute is in process). The only reason for one star is that her receptionist at the Irvine location was helpful in getting me in. There are much better offices to visit in Orange County. No patient deserves to be nickel and dime'd in exchange for mediocre healthcare. read more

Wow. Today was hands down the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a doctor in my entire life and I'm not even talking about the 60+ minute wait. I've been to Dr. Napoli a few times in the past and it was average, in the past I found that the staff would argue with you over the phone about various things and they were generally disorganized. I wanted a doctor closer to where I live and work so I changed doctors earlier this year. My new doctor ended up moving, so when I found a lump near my underarm last week, I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Napoli to get it checked out. My appointment was at 2 PM today, so I came about 20 minutes early (as they request that you come in 15 minutes early). Aside from that, I waited for OVER 60 MINUTES past my 2 PM appointment time before I was seen by Dr. Napoli. Dr. Napoli finally comes in like a chicken with her head cut off, rude tone, didn't listen to a word I was saying, she can't figure out why I'm there (despite it being written down in front of her and me answering her verbally when she asked) and randomly offers to give me my co-pay back because she doesn't know why I'm there....as if I just like wandered in off the street for a doctor's appointment or something? Mind you, this is immediately after I tell her that I'm there to have her check for a lump under my arm, the same reason that's written down on my chart and the same reason I gave when I made the appointment on the phone. She kept getting hung up on the fact that her office called me about a prescription refill and apparently I never returned their call like over 8 months ago? I had already changed doctors by that point and how is that related to today's visit?? I told the intake nurse that I couldn't really feel the lump since I made the initial appointment (doesn't mean its gone for sure) and apparently that translated to Dr. Napoli as I don't need to be there and she doesn't know why I'm there and she doesn't need to look at anything and why am I here again and oh yeah "we gave up on you" when you didn't return a call about something completely unrelated to why you're here today. Also no other questions regarding my general health and wellness, just "I don't know why you're here" like 10 times. So I guess if you are female and have a mystery lump near your breast and Dr. Napoli is running behind don't expect her to examine you? Her lack of professionalism was so off putting that I finally had to say something and all she could say was that she was "stressed out" and "an hour behind" and she has a lot of "gravely ill patients". I get that there are other patients, but don't expect people to wait for over an hour then treat them like crap once you finally meet with them and expect them to be ok with it. While I was in the waiting room, she was complaining LOUDLY about how long one patient was taking with all of her questions and that the appointment was dragging on and on. Hopefully this wasn't one of the "gravely ill" patients she was talking about. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she was trying to brush me off to try to catch up on her day and have 1 less patient to see. In the end, I didn't want her to examine me because the entire encounter was so disgusting and unprofessional from start to finish that I chose to leave. UPDATE: After my initial review and the disliking of my visit, Dr. Napoli reached out to make this situation right. Even though she wasn't the right fit for me and I'll be taking my healthcare elsewhere l respect her reaching out and understanding my point of view. If you are dealing with anxiety and problems related to that and are seeking help DO NOT COME TO THIS OFFICE. I tried giving this office a chance after having a negative first visit with Dr. Napoli. After dealing with chest pains and severe discomfort in my chest on and off for the last 8 months I finally searched for a Dr in South county where I live and made an appt. When I saw her she came off as irritated when I was explaining my symptoms and made me feel uncomfortable when she CUT me off during our conversation to then say "she can't wave a magic wand" that I need blood work and nothing was wrong with my chest since I've previously had a EkG. She then prescribed me 10 .5mg xanax pills (which until up to that date I've never had taken in my life) to take on a trial basis to see if it helped me when I was having discomfort and to come back in 3 weeks. So the next 2 weeks when I had discomfort in my chest or anxiety I took a pill or 2 as recommended when needed. Well I've been dealing with this about 4 days out of the week so do the math. I called her to ask for a few more to help me get thru the next week if I had another attack and was all of a sudden treated like a drug addict. The ladies I talked to on the phone were horrible with relaying messages and proceeded to tell me they weren't going to give me more. Why prescribe something that relieves discomfort and then take that away from your patient to be left on there own? Then she says they rather prescribe me a pill that I have to take everyday for the rest of my life because it's not addicting. So since people don't crave that pill its better for you on a daily basis then taking a couple xanax a week until the anxiety subsides? I've been dealing with this on and off with no medicine for the last few years, when it's off why am I going to continue to take that pill? The lady on the phone was very argumentative and didn't seem educated at all in the field she worked in. After finally getting relief, I am now back to square one. Worst experience I've ever had with any type of office or business. The Patients wellbeing ARE NOT there number one priority. I didn't go in there asking for xanax, you recommended it, so when I ask for a few more to help my discomfort don't treat me like I'm a addict looking for a pill pusher. This is OC the Mecca of prescription drugs (which I've never taken in my life), if that was my purpose my appt would of never been made in the first place and I'd probably have a pocket full of these pills. .5mg of xanax 10 in over 2 weeks and its unreasonable to ask for a few more, cmon now!! Dr. Napoli's office is very good! They are good at getting you in when you are sick and really need it. Some days when you come it takes forever to get seen (one time 30 minutes to get a TB test read, which the receptionist ended up reading from the lobby anyway LOL), but I guess thats what happens at every doctor office. The staff is very friendly and they follow up with referrals constantly. I also like that if you need an additional referral you can call their office and Dr. Napoli's staff can submit a referral right away so you don't need to come in every single time. read more

I had my first meeting with Dr. Napoli and her staff at Mission Family Medical Group in early May 2015. I needed to get an overall physical exam and Dr. Napoli was in my company's insurance plan and located fairly close to where I live in Ladera Ranch. I have to say that my experience was top notch in every way. I felt very warmly welcomed, cared for, and treated with the utmost respect and kindness from the minute I walked into the office. Her staff was not only attentive and courteous, they also were fun and lighthearted. It was obvious that the entire office had a very positive happy vibe about it, and I am always about 'the vibe'. The staff was also very interested in me and caring. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with all of the staff members that I came in contact with at Mission Family Medical Group. Also, I want to add that there was no waiting. They were very well organized and efficient and I was in and out before I knew it. I couldn't believe that actually because every other doctor I have been to in the past was always an hour or more wait. Before I share more about Dr. Napoli, I have to highlight my experience with one staff member in particular who has gone above and beyond the call of duty on my behalf. Her name is Jessica, and I couldn't be more impressed with how she went out of her way to help me and work with my insurance company and LabCorp to make sure that I was crystal clear on what blood work tests would be covered by my insurance plan and which ones would not be covered. She was extremely helpful in this regards and I am sure that she saved me quite a bit of money in potential LabCorp fees that I might have gotten blindsided with were it not for her insight and help. Also, she was so extremely kind and more than happy to help. Such a positive energy person. I LOVE that!! Thank you again Jessica!! My time with Dr. Napoli was really great. She instantly made me feel very comfortable and very confident in her skills and interest in me. I thought she was insightful, forthcoming with insight and information, patient with my questions and she was also very warm and kind. I definitely highly recommend Dr. Napoli and feel very lucky that I was accepted as a patient. I have to add that I am concerned about some of these other negative comments about Dr. Napoli and Mission Family Medical Group on Yelp. I think these people are either the type that are totally negative about everything in life and are impossible to please, or they have a hidden agenda and are not being honest, or perhaps maybe it's a bit of both. I encourage you to completely ignore these people. Let's face it, anyone can say anything about anyone on this site, whether it is real and honest or not. I'm changing doctors, this office is so unprofessional. It's impossible to get anything simple done with the staff that works here. I honestly feel sorry for any patient that has to rely on them for anything that requires multiple, complicated steps. If you're calling to schedule an appointment, getting referred to a specialist or trying to set up something as simple as getting vaccinated: prepare for a headache. I won't go into the long winded details here, but I've been coming here for about a year and a half and I've had enough with the incompetent staff. All of this on top of zero follow-up. Be prepared to set aside like 25 minutes to make a simple call to them because you're going to be immediately put on hold for an indefinite amount of time and then possibly have to deal with unsolicited medical advice from a scheduler/receptionist with zero knowledge of your medical history or insurance coverage. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt at first, but no, they really are as bad as they seem. The office staff is TERRIBLE. They don't try to help you, they just tell you they are too busy and will get back to you. The office staff each only work a few days a week so there is no consistency. They say they will call you back and they DON"T so the next day you call back and that staff member isn't working that day and you have to start all over again. The staff doesn't follow through an ANYTHING and each time you call they have no idea who you talked to and why that person didn't call you back. Dr. Napoli is good, but she needs a new staff or she is going to lose a lot of business. When I made my first appt. my prior doctor had to fax my records 4 times bec. the staff said they never recieved it even though my prior doctor had 4 fax confirmations in they file. After 15-20 years of seeing the same primary care doctor, a little over a year ago I had to find a new one after Blue Shield and Monarch had their tizzy fit with each other. I did not know anything about Dr. Napoli but from the list of names Blue Shield gave me, I thought I would give her a try. I will say, it was extremely difficult to get through to make an appointment and had to call back several times as my break was only 10 minutes long and was still on hold when it was over so had to hang up and try the next day. That was very frustrating. Once I got through to actually talk to someone, I had no trouble making an appointment. At my first appointment, Dr. Napoli walked into the room, sat down and went over all my medical history and asked questions in such a friendly manner. It was an actual conversation and I was immediately at ease with her. She didn't talk down to me and explained a lot of things. I had been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes about a year previously. The doc had given me a prescription but it made me not feel well so I stopped taking it and hadn't done anything about it since then. She said, "Has anyone ever sat down with you and explained how serious diabetes is?" I said no and she spent 10-15 minutes explaining what it was and what complications can arise from it and why I should start addressing some things before it progressed further. She did it with such concern though - not scare tactics or anything. She said she couldn't make me do anything, that I had to be the one to make changes, but just as baby steps - a change here and there, not everything at once, otherwise I would get overwhelmed and not do anything. It really made me think. She explained the medication I had been prescribed can make some people feel ill in the beginning but said it was important I be on it to lower my blood sugar. I was supposed to be taking one pill twice a day. So she said to start with 1/2 tab once a day for a week or two or until I was feeling ok, and then increase the dose to one pill a day and then a few weeks later, increase to one in the morning and 1/2 at night. Over a couple of months time (as I felt I was feeling well enough to move up) I would increase it til we got to the correct dose of two pills per day. And it worked perfect. I only felt a little queasy in the very beginning and we increased it so slow, it worked great! Since turning 50 in January, and subsequently my body deciding to fall apart in numerous ways since then, I have had to see her multiple times and have always been pleased with her professionalism and care and concern and encouragement. The only reason I did not give five stars is because in the beginning and earlier this year, it had been difficult to get through on the phones. However it seems like whatever it was has been corrected and n the past six months I have not had any issues with getting through and the front office staff and nurses are always very friendly, helpful and professional I also don't like having to pay $3 for the parking structure but other than that, I am glad I was lucky enough to find her and would definitely recommend her! read more
