I'm not sure if the gentleman who checked me out was the owner or a regular employee. Regardless, he did not have a friendly disposition when checking me out. (I am a woman of color for reference) he didn't even greet me which is a simple courtesy. I had to ask him "hey, how are you today" to which he didn't respond and just told me the balance I owed. My fellow friend (white male) checked out right after me and he greeted him! He also asked him how he wanted his items wrapped. (We both had the same items) If the store itself wasn't so nice and full of good merchandise/gifts I would've given it an even lower rating. To management: please know and remind your employees that even a simple hello goes a long way Edit: This seems to be a trend going years back (looking at reviews) with this business and their discriminatory practices. Yellow Rose has a hat bar and one of these days I'm getting a new hat and decking it out with pins and other accessories from the bar. Beau's Bar inside the store is also a great place to hang and unwind after whirlwind shopping and browsing. This is just a great western-wear shop with turquoise jewelry, bolos, denim, dresses, etc. Collabs like the ones done with Wrangler can be found here as well. Nice leather jacket and boots selection. Just like the flagship store they have home decor items as well. I bought the cutest little bolo today. Service is just as wonderful here. Note: if you are part of the loyalty club/birthday club, the birthday discount can't be used at Yellow Rose.

Two free drinks before they gently tell you that they're not a bar, but just giving out samples. Be sure to hit 'em up! The staff was quite pleasant, helpful, and friendly. We found two new patches that'll look just fine on my jacket. Most of the jewelry wasn't for me, but it sure was purty! They got the corner location of this long strip building on South Congress. It's a nice location. They used to park a looong yellow Cadillac out in front, but I haven't seen their car in a while. Next time I need some Texas jewelry, this is my spot.

I also spotted some photo books and coffee table books which I do enjoy getting from time to time. The accessories are various items and they are fun and unique. There is cards and if I recall correctly socks for example. The gentleman that worked here was very nice and helpful with all of our questions. This bookstore reminds me and take me back to the 1990's as I just came out to myself and was curious and eager to learn about LGBTQ history and I would come across these little independently owned stores that specialized in this and I learned so much. So coming here was a slice of nostalgia of my younger years which was a pleasant reminiscing.

They cram a lot into that compact space without making it overwhelming. The real crowning jewels are the authentic, antique printing presses that are a couple hundred years old, and still cranking! It's amazing to see that piece of history in action. Plus, staff are so kind and clearly passionate about what they do. They'll talk to you for hours about printing, if you want. Over the last several months I've been decorating a shipping container and Paper Work was the first place I thought of for art. My new space looks amazing with all the different pieces I got from here and I feel good knowing I'm supporting locals rather than Target. I give Paper Work 5 stars when I wish I could give them 10. The staff is amazing, the owner is incredible and I always find something for me or for a gift. If you live in Austin, you should come here more often. If you are visiting, this is the place to shop and buy gifts for everybody who couldn't come to Austin with you.

Unprofessional and slow in dealing with a batch of 100 invitations. Things ultimately did turn out…read moreOK, but not without a huge amount of hassle along the way. Our job involved three professionally designed custom graphics. The store failed to properly convey the necessary technical specifications needed for these graphics. Merely providing the dpi requirement is insufficient (I personally didn't know that at the time, but the shop certainly should have). The process of getting a final proof was dragged out through a period of about three weeks. The shop never called us, and nothing got done unless we called them. The three weeks included an inexplicable final delay of one week where the shop claimed our graphic files were (1) incorrectly colored and (2) pixelated. However, this was not the case. After our professional graphic designer pulled out her hair trying to figure out what was wrong with the files, she discovered that there was literally nothing wrong at all. After the shop realized they had been incorrect, they simply used the files they had previously received one week prior. No apology for the delay. The real icing on the cake for me was that instead of being apologetic (or even merely being courteous) in dealing with these issues, the shop was borderline insulting, stating that their printer "deserved a gift basket" for all the trouble we'd put them through! Most (all) of the trouble arose, however, from (1) Personally Yours failing to convey all the necessary information up-front; and (2) Personally Yours (and/or their printer) being technically incompetent. In conclusion, if you choose to use this shop for a printing job, I wish you the best of luck--you'll need it.
