The space is very truly a thrift shop--bit of everything everywhere in the main room, and it's very fun to walk around and look for little treasures! Kevin explained to me that he rearranges his shop pretty often (he cheekily calls the practice "funk shui") to get people's eyes on different items every time they come in. He tends to get his wares from estate sales, auctions, and considers himself a treasure hunter. And I must agree! Lots of treasures in Far Out, and I loved sifting through them. If you make your way in, you'll likely hear from Kevin that he's open to negotiation and bundling items for reasonable deals. He seems just to be genuinely excited to find cool items and give them new homes. And I appreciate that energy a lot. I came in looking, loosely, for some home decor as my husband and I outfit our home after moving back to Texas from Georgia. But nothing felt quite right on the decor side. But I saw some beautiful pieces and walked out of the store with a vintage book I was excited about. So I consider it a successful trip. :) Make a trip over to check out Kevin's treasures. Be prepared to get the "smell of approval" and have the owner offer Turkish coffee or tea! Fantastic selection of unique items. Rugs, clothing, lamps, and all sorts of things - it's like entering a fairy tale shop. We stopped in to buy the Hop Queen her early anniversary gift - a lamp she has been havering for for years. You can choose your lamp, and get the globes you want - want to swap them out? No problem, plenty of choices, like everything else in the place, almost overwhelming! There was a 50% off sale going on, so that was even better. We did get spoiled with our fresh brewed coffee, and had some Turkish delight to go along with it. Almost a shame to finish up the transaction and get on the road. Do yourself a favour and come check it out. So I wanted to come show my support and check the store out. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. Everything is super organized and the selections are unique. A nice blend of clothing and shoes (both men and women's), glassware, jewelry, electronics and a bunch of other items. I had so much fun browsing. I found an Anne Taylor top for example that was $12. Score. The prices are reasonable and the selection is varied. It's a very welcoming place and I can't wait to bring friends and shop again. The clothing selection is especially good--better brands, excellent condition, no stains or tears, and often items that are brand new or look like they've barely been worn. Beyond clothing, I've found beautiful crystal and china, quality glassware and serving pieces, decorative items, books in wonderful condition, puzzles, children's toys and clothing, and some truly gorgeous furniture. The furniture, in particular, is often top-quality and priced far below what I would expect. The store itself is clean, organized, and easy to shop. I never feel like I have to dig through piles of damaged or worn-out items to find something worthwhile. What really sets Better ATX apart, though, is the people. The volunteers are friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they're doing. Every visit feels welcoming. I often run into familiar faces, and it's not unusual to end up having a pleasant conversation with a volunteer I've never met before. As someone who relies on thrift stores to help stretch my budget for clothing and household items, I appreciate places that offer genuine value. Better ATX consistently has some of the best prices I've found on high-quality items, including brands I could never justify buying new. I always look forward to visiting and almost always leave with a great find.

They have unique pieces, ones you can envision wearing or putting in your home. At ATX Thrift store the thrill of the hunt is still alive and bubbling in your shopping veins. Smile. The selection of items rotates frequently with clothing, shoes, accessories, and goods that range from everyday basics to those one of kind items. You can find unique antique furniture like a victrola, a retro jacket, antique costume jewelry or a quirky décor piece. It is so much fun thrifting here. The little ladies that manage this store are so super sweet. I was trying to getting to a door that was locked. The store sales representative came outside to get me and take me through the correct door. I guess I did not realize that door was no longer open. These ladies are kind and will go out their way to help you. The prices of the pieces at ATX Thrift are reasonable and very affordable. It is nothing like going to a thrift store and finding item and then realizing it is way overpriced. As many times as I have visited ATX Thrift, I can honestly say their prices are consistently fair. While I did not find my pink depression glass, I did have fun shopping.

Ann and Eric helped us pick out a beautiful chandelier for our new vacation house in Telluride…read more What was amazing is that we were able to do it from Colorado. The chandelier we had purchased in Denver turned out to be too small to fit the space for which it was intended. So I searched online and found a chandelier that The Antique Swan had advertised on line. It looked like a perfect fit. We called and spoke initially to Ann, the owner, who is the nicest person and knows so much about antiques. Turns out my chandelier was purchased by Ann on one of her annual trips through Europe where she scours the countryside looking for interesting pieces to ship home to her store. It is cool to get a first person story of where your purchase came from. My chandelier came from an estate near Stratford on Avon in the UK. I can't say enough about how helpful Eric was in getting the chandelier to us in a hurry. We had them pack and ship it to us sight unseen. It got to us in 2 days and each piece of crystal was individually bubble wrapped. It was exactly as advertised if not better. I highly recommend The Antique Swan.

My husband and I were drawn to this Main Street shop when we spotted the Farrah Fawcett t-shirt…read moredisplay out front of Antiques and More. Of course, we had to stop and check it out. My husband and I ended up chatting with Danny, who runs the shop, and we could have stayed there talking for hours. He was so welcoming and had so many great stories about the local area, the growth around Buda, and of course all the amazing nostalgia pieces packed inside the store. The shop itself is awesome. You can tell Danny and his wife (who we didn't get the pleasure of meeting) puts a lot of heart and care into curating everything. It's the kind of place where you find little treasures tucked into every corner. From vintage shirts to classic antiques, everything has a story behind it. We honestly went in because of a t-shirt, but left feeling like we got a little glimpse into Buda's past too. Definitely a must-stop if you're in the area. Can't wait to come back and see what new finds are waiting next time.

I don't recommend this store after seeing how this owner was treating my kids. I would like to let people know how we were treated in the store. We were visiting the store for the very first time. My kids were very excited to shop around for toys. My little one dropped one toy to the floor, then the owner yelled to both of them. Ordered them to put down all the toys and not touching anything any more. After that, my kids were getting terrified literally and refused to enter any store on that street. We have never been treated this way before. How you are treating customers is also the way you treat other people. Be careful of this store if you are considering about it. Google review is not true.
