I have tried a variety of pastas here and they are all delicious and made to order. The Penne Pesto chicken is phenomenal! And the Garbanzos on their salads is a nice touch instead of your typical boring side salad. I have also tried the veggie pizza with an assortment of vegetables that was quite tasty! They offer up to a giant size pizza that is big enough to feed a very large family. This is an economical, laid back place to eat fresh Italian food, but nothing fancy so don't expect it to be. Although some of the girls up front are not the friendliest at this location. They could use better customer service and smile once in a while, but I am rating the food that makes it all worth it in the end. The Pizza is pretty dam good, & depends on who's cooking, Appetizers all frozen guys, IF you got fresh, it'll bring in more customers. Salads should be easy,.. but not to bad. So, Today is Christmas and every business in the city is closed, of course as they should be. Anyway, I came to Ali's Pizzeria and it was so packed. I was amazed at how quickly the food came out. It was amazing. Tasted great, music was motivational and the environment felt so comfortable. Every staff member was polite and professional. Have been avoiding leaving them a bad review for a long time, but tonight was the 3rd time I've been hassled over banana peppers. The cook is rude and you can hear him talking shit while you're waiting in the lobby. When I picked up my order I noticed they were once again very skimpy with the banana peppers...so I requested more. I was handed 3 whole ones wrapped in foil......I'm supposed to chop them myself??? This restaurant is badly run. My husband got his food and I waited and waited and never got my food. When I asked about it, I was told that this is the way they serve people here, one at a time even if you're in the same party. We talked to the owner/manager who told us that they are not a waitress restaurant and that they are shorthanded. We saw many, many pizzas and other food coming out of the kitchen but not ours. Food was burning in the kitchen.I asked for a refund since my food was not coming anytime soon and my husband was almost finished eating. They told me they couldn't do that because there was no manager here. They finally called the owner/manager/mom on the employee's phone. I highly suggest people try a different pizza restaurant than this one. This one is horrible! Been twice and once the girl behind the cash register went to go clear a table to no waiting customers instead of taking my order and toady ordered by phone so I can avoid the last incident and they tell me 20 mins to pick up. If New York Style Pizza was made by a Middle School Cafeteria then this would be it. I got a one topping pizza to go and the topping was very sparse. It might as well been a cheese pizza with a couple pieces of a topping that I paid extra for. The cheese and sauce tasted like the same kind I can get at Costco. The pizza crust was undercooked. Eh. Pizza was okay, but I think it was topped with canned olives? I mean I don't expect hand-picked olives of the freshest variety, but at least chop 'me up to hide it from me. I'm sorry, but this place sucks! I have been 4 times since they opened and each time has been worse and worse... They have bad customer service, food service and food. However, I believe this issue to be with the kitchen staff and the "manager." The ladies who expo food and work the registers are very nice and obviously try to do their best. I took my family here last night and it seems like they must be doing poorly financially with this new location. They were totally skimping and leaving out ingredients on EVERYTHING. They screwed up our order - and I don't mean a single item. They actually managed to do something wrong with each item! My oldest son is ridiculously picky about sauce though, so when they ignored our light sauce request, it ruined his dinner. And that was after the had to remake our pizza, since they got the order wrong to start (I guess making a cheese pizza w/ light sauce is tall order?). As for my wife and I, we have had their meat calzone before and LOVED it! However, last night it was just a SMALL layer of pep and a sh*t-ton of what I'm guessing was ricotta cheese. I was not aware of this until last night, but shoving a bunch of ricotta inside a melted glob of mozzarella is very simply, gross. So yeah, we're personally done with this place, which is a shame since the Walzem strip could definitely use more restaurants of quality. When I asked to speak with the manager, they basically refused the request. And instead, the cashier/expo/bus person came back to our table and told us that the manager said they would make us new food and not charge us and that the manager was busy and couldn't speak with us. Well, honestly, at that point I was just friggin' hungry, as were my wife and kids, so we just ate the food they brought and decided this would be our last visit to Ray's. read more

I ordered an 18" pizza and I expected ample amount of toppings. I literally counted the and there were on 5 pieces of Italian sausage on my pizza. How is that possible?How can a pizza that serves a thin crust still be doughy? My husband wanted to try this place for our date night. Yea big mistake. We walk in and there wasn't many people in there. Maybe about 2 tables were taken. Oh and what really pissed me off is that she lady with the baby had to go get her food. She couldn't bring the food to her either. This is some racist crap right here. I've ordered from this place numerous times and have loved almost everything that I have gotten. I like their Eggplant Parm sandwich, as well as their Chicken Cheesesteak. My Husband swears by their Calzones, but I found the one I had (it was the Alfredo Calzone) to be far too greasy for my liking. When ordering their normal cheesesteak, I was supremely let down, as it was salty hamburger with the touted 'grilled onions and peppers' nowhere to be seen. Of course, I will just chalk that up to the possibility of expectation versus reality. Eating in, the place is spacious, with video games and at least one pool table. The staff were friendly enough. My only negative experience has been waiting the longest for my pasta dish (it was a shrimp pesto), to the point that the people I was with had gotten their food and had finished before mine arrived. There was no special order and I don't know what could have taken so long. Considering I could have made the dish at home in less time and there was only one other couple in the place (and they ordered a pizza). However, for the cost and the dishes that I do actually enjoy, I can overlook the negative experiences I've had. It's not the greatest Italian food, but it's definitely not the worst.
