First the service: Our server, believe his name was Joe. (From Kansas) He has one of the smoothest, distinct, bass-ey, and relaxing voices ever. We told him he needs to lend his talents to some media agencies because we could listen to him read any thing. Je was great. "Joe" was very attentive, helpful, and efficient. We had a large group and he provided amazing service, while taking care of other patrons. Price: We went during lunch time and the price point was GREAT and serving size was more than plentiful. Food: The garlic knots and olive oil were soooo good. A star of the show for sure. Fresh out the oven, hot! The calamari was a hit with the kids. These two, items were ordered The Salmon piccata and Chicken Scisciano were really good. The Chicken parm and Chicken Alfredo was good, but just okay for me. The Margherita pizza was crispy. The waiter was having unacceptable behavior towards my family and showed no respect and was being a smart @$$ and when anyone asked for a water and a drink he would say no as a "joke" to be funny.My grandma had ordered unsweet tea and he made a small mistake but kept nagging at her and said so needy and even when she got a salad he kept insisting on getting the soup and was practically refusing to get her anything he salad but he did eventually. When we ordered food he got almost everything wrong and we ordered 2 salmon piccata's and he gave us chicken instead of the salmon so we had to wait again and he brought the salmon special and had to wait one more time and took 20 minutes for the food and he brought the wrong thing again but we ate it anyway because it had taken too long already. My food came and I had gotten the fettuccine Alfredo and it was genuinely the worst I've ever had.The chicken was burnt and tasted like a tire and the sauce was flavorless and watery. The atmosphere was pretty nice and the lighting and place was chill but to be honest the bread and the tiramisu was the only good thing here. I'm 13 years old but even I saw how bad this waiter was and how bad the restaurant was and he kept messing up the check and my uncle got fed up and payed for everyone.Do not come here with a party of 5 or more because they will mess up everything. read more

We were welcome warmly by Noah. We were seated immediately. The decor and atmosphere was warm and relaxed and not too formal. There'sa small bar at the end of the restaurant near the kitchen doors and feels like a normal NY Italian restaurant. I ordered the frutti di mare with the white clam sauce. It surprised me because I'm used to it being red. I really don't have a preference either way, I'm just used to seeing the dish in a red tomato sauce. My wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce. Two of the ends of the spectrum of dishes. Both very well done. Each meal came with a soup or salad. We both chose the chicken soup. And also came with bread with garlic dip which was very tasty as well. In our meals both were tasty and I have to say that the shrimp that was in my meal rivals the big popular restaurants in the more ritzy parts of town. We finish our meals with the recommendation of tiramisu. Their version is very light and fresh. We admit that it was nice but we wanted more of a coffee kick. Not to say it wasn't good, it was one of the better tasting ones I've had in a while. And this is decades of eating it in NY. Sciscianos has amazing lunch specials. The soft garlic knots are served with garlic oil for dipping. Next time I need to order more to take home. A side salad or soup is served with each entree. I enjoyed the fresh greens, Roma tomato slices, cucumber and shredded cheese topped with blue cheese dressing. My sister loved the lunch portion of shrimp scampi, a very generous serving of pasta and six large shrimp for $14.99. What a deal! My lunch lasagna ($10.99) was good but I wish they added 2 more sheets of pasta to balance out the dish. The lasagna had a thick layer of meat sauce with melted cheese on top. While out hunting for good Italian restaurants we bumped into this place. Reviews were very good so we checked it out. There was so much on the menu it was a challenge trying to decide. Decor was elegant and quiet but with TV sets to entertain the crowd. Server was very nice and patient. Food came out hot with cheese melting. We stopped at Scisciano Italia for lunch today after stopping at another Italian restaurant finding it closed on Mondays. This was our first visit. The garlic bread knots that was brought out right away were soft and tasty. My husband ordered the Frutti Di Mare. He absolutely loved it. The shrimps, scallops and mussels were cooked to perfection. My daughter ordered the meatball sandwich. We can she thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Chicken Piccata. The chicken was way over cooked. It tasted and appeared like it was pre-cooked and sat in liquid. The pasta was a little bit passed el dente but still good. The star of the dish was the lemony sauce. When asked about the chicken, she told me that they were pre-cooked in preparation for the lunch crowd. She had my dish re-made for me with freshly grilled chicken. Side by side, the previous chicken appeared gray and dry. I'm glad To have spoken up. The replacement dish was delicious! Great service and good food. Mother's Day dinner 2026 was excellent at Scisciano's. It was all of my party's first time dining there and it was pleasant. Most service staff were really friendly, manager/owner was very friendly and thoughtful. Our server was a little overwhelmed but he also seemed kind of young and new but still did well. There are a few little things that could use improvement such as the menu stating things that were not exactly prepared as stated: the carrots on the prime rib plate were strange whole carrots that were not peeled and barely looked cooked but had been described as roasted hot and sweet glazed, there were not. The menu had said raspberry tiramisu and I was excited about that, but it was served as a traditional tiramisu. The risotto had great flavor and fully cooked but wasn't quite the perfect consistency I was expecting but was still very tasty. Other members in our party enjoyed their Stromboli, fettuccine alfredo, and carbonara. The garlic knots were incredible especially with the garlic olive oil dipper. Portions. Come here if you like large portions. For me, less is more. I thought the food was just "okay." I understand why people rate it highly, they like to eat a lot in this town. The chicken soup appetizer was enough to feed 2. Although the waiter mentioned they cook everything from scratch, the soup tasted reheated. The cannoli was hard as well. The stuffing is made in house, the roll was imported elsewhere and it was almost tooth shattering. The pasta was good, a bit undersalted tho. Some pros, they have a good variety of wine and alcoholic drinks they can offer. A step up from Olive Garden, but not the best Italian food I've had in town. I'd say better than 80% of the spots. The inside is very bright, cheesy Italian music playing on a would be CD player, and a waiter who was almost constantly checking in on us to the point where towards the end we were ready to move on. Scisciano Italia is our new favorite restaurant. Regardless of our selection(s), the food is delicious, the service is outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. The menu offers a variety of appetizers, main courses, wines/mixed drinks, coffee(s) and desserts. I am particularly fond of the fresh salads and warm rolls with a savory dipping oil. I enjoy the relaxing pace of this restaurant: the music is low, you don't hear a loud kitchen, plates and glasses aren't rattling and you aren't rushed out. Overall, it's quite a pleasant experience. The restaurant is conveniently located near the corner of Nacogdoches Road and Thousand Oaks, just a few yards away from the What-a-Burger, the Longhorn Cafe, and the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins; Wal-Mart is a good landmark. There are several good Italian restaurants in town-- Scisciano's is VERY good. PS. I understand there is a terrific all-day pizza deal on Tuesdays. It's next on my list. read more

Stopped in for lunch with my mother and stepfather. First time here for us three. Looks like a typical neighborhood restaurant, with a small bar. Quaint with Italian ballads piped in. I had the shrimp scampi, which was rather delicious and i could not finish it all. Do much food. My only ding will be our server. Not really a ding as he was new. We were looking to try a new Italian place that offered catering dishes of various types of entrees. Found this gem on Yelp that is close to our neighborhood and couldn't be happier. The reviews on Yelp and Toast were top notch. We tried a pan of lasagna for 10 people. The lasagna was excellent, probably the best I've tried from a restaurant. Definitely recommend!! Over the weekend, I was looking at Yelp's Hot New Businesses, saw Scisciano Italia, and wanted to try it. We decided to check it out tonight. They've got a good crowd going for a Monday night, so the word is out. They've only been open 2 months so quickly check them out! Dad had Lemonade, and Hubby and I had their complimentary Chardonnay (Chateau Ste. Michelle). I'm presuming they don't have their liquor license yet. The complimentary Garlic Knots were served hot and fresh. The dip was very tasty with lots of minced garlic. You may want to skip if you don't like garlic. We shared the Tre Fried Calamari, Ravioli, and Cheese Sticks. Ginormous portions, actually all the dishes were very generous! The calamari is one of the best in town. Dad and Hubby had Chicken Vegetable Soup. I had House Salad with the Pasta Sampler (lasagna, manicotti, cannelloni), which I shared with Dad. Hubby had the Veal Marsala. I had a bite of the veal and it was so tender. Hubby ate it all! I read that the Tiramisu was good so we tried it. It was so light it felt like I wasn't eating any calories. Yum!!! About the business...Dusti Melucci is the owner and her Grandma is from Sciscianno, a comune in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Italy. The recipes are from Grandma. True Italian roots! The current menu is extensive but they'll be tweaking as they see what people like and enjoy. Honestly, everything went well at Scisciano Italia! We had reservations and our table was ready for us when we got to the restaurant. It even had a "reserved" sign on it. Our server was excellent! He immediately greeted us, served us our water along with wine for those who ordered their Moscatos. We also ordered a couple of appetizers which got to our table within a few minutes. The Burrata was very good. On top of this, each of us enjoyed our entrees. My daughter and I shared the Salmon Picatta which was served on Risotto. It was amazing!! I really hoped to enjoy this little place as it was close to me. It's a cute quiet environment. The wait staff was amazing. The food was a little lacking in my opinion. I have the chicken piccata and the chicken was pre-sliced, which made it very dry and non-flavored. The sauce and pasta was excellent, but the protein was just very lacking. Just went today and had to add to these amazing reviews! I went around 3 PM and we were the only guests which is always a plus. Very nice, bright atmosphere. Our server was so kind and so attentive. I'm just realizing I didn't catch her name. She apologized for the soup taking a little while to come out because it's made to order and I don't mind that at all! Fresher the better! It came out so hot. It was so delicious. Our entrees came out pretty much right after, but also pretty hot so we could still enjoy our soup before getting to the entrées. But once we got to our entrées, oh my gosh, absolutely delicious! The shrimp scampi was such a refreshing taste. And the tortellini Alfredo was so creamy. Adding the mushrooms is a must so don't forget to ask. Just what I was looking for. Only thing I'm upset about is not coming to check out this place sooner! They will be seeing us again :) read more

Visited Wednesday, July 23, 2025 with my Mom and son. It was about 3:45pm. We were told to choose a table and our waitress Laura gave us a few recommendations as it was our first time. They brought out garlic knots with an olive oil dipping sauce. My son ordered a combination plate with chicken Parmesan over spaghetti, fettuccine Alfredo and cannelloni. My Mom had eggplant Parmesan and I had Puttanesca. My son had the house soup and Mom and I had house salads. Everything was so good. The Alfredo said was so rich and creamy. The eggplant had lots of cheese. The puttanesca was cooked Al dente, which was so nice, not over cooked at all. We all had plenty and took leftovers home and they were great reheated! The restaurant was empty when we got there, but people came in to get to go orders and the place was busy as we were leaving. The place was clean and decor was nice. Sausage Arrabbiata.... EXCELLENT ! This was the best Italian meal I can remember. We visited San Antonio for Air Force BMT Graduation and made dinner reservations for 7. Restaurant was very clean and staff prompt. We ordered and assortment of appetizers they were very good. Chicken parm was enormous and very tender with fantastic flavor. The marinara had a great flavor! My meal I ordered with "more spice" and I was not denied. T was spicy!!! I loved it! I would DEFINITELY recommend this restaurant. read more

We were sent here by a patient of my husband. Service was great! Waitstaff were competent on the menu and very attentive. Restaurant was nice, relaxed, and comfortable. The food though was not good at all. Both dishes lacked flavor. My pasta was overcooked. My husband's dish seemed to swim in butter or grease. new spot in the strip center, space has been several restaurants, maybe this will stick. decorated very nicely, waiter greeted and seated us promptly (11:30am- wednesday). lunch specials are available, lots of choices and include salad or soup - around $12-$14. pastas, salads, pizzas and more. i opted for pasta trio ($12) with lasagna, manicotti and cannelloni. friend decided on chicken picatta ($12). soup choice was chicken veggie, which we both chose since it was cold & damp! soup was very good, mostly broth - which is actually what i prefer, but it was hot, rich and tasty. bread - yeasty knots - with dipping sauce had been brought out with drinks. warm accompaniment to the soup. lunch plates arrived, both extremely generous portions. the red sauce was thick and rich on my pastas and came topped with a lot of cheese. while tasty, my personal preference runs to a thinner, fresher sauce and id prefer less cheese on top - but thats ME! meat in lasagna was very well seasoned, and all 3 pastas were good. the chicken in the piccata was sliced and didnt look like it had a coating, it did come with pasta and friend said sauce was well flavored. we also split a slice of the black forest cheesecake which was quickly devoured. my bill was a little over $20 after tip with lunch, tea and dessert. service was very fast and friendly, drinks refilled promptly. dinner prices looked to range from $16-$24 on average. hubbie loves pasta, so looking forward to another visit here. where maybe i'll remember to take pics! read more

From the food to the service, everything was fantastic. The only challenge was having to choose one meal from the menu; all of the items looked delicious. We had the Tre Fried appetizer, very good. New place for us. A couples dinner. Once we sat down, they brought out some warm garlic knot breads, and oil. Yes, they just stole my heart. The knots are a good size. Service was quick, but our waiter had a soft voice, it was hard to hear him. The place wasn't loud. Other than that, our waiter was superb. Very polite, and very attentive to our table. They had tables and booths to sit in. Place was clean. Decor is very cool. Kinda romantic. They have a flower and a tealight candle on the tables. Maria had the lasagna, came out very hot of the oven. The portion was good, and the flavor is good. I had the pasta sample, also a good portion. It came with lasagna, cannoli, and manicotti. Also hot out of the oven, and very delicious. No beer, but they have wine. Also the tea is fresh and delicious. They have an espresso machine, but I stay away from espresso. Had a craving for some cannoli. This restaurant advertised that they had them. It was a long wait and then I got a call saying that they did not have my preferred toppings, that was fine with me I chose the others that they had. After another long wait, called me back and said they did not have the cream filling for the cannoli.. At this time I cancel my entire order. Very disappointed. they say that my mushrooms were delivered, but now I have not received them and I expect not to be charged for anything in this order. I canceled the entire order due to them not fulfilling my request for cannolis, which was what I desired from the very beginning. read more
