I first discovered it because we were going to a brunch nearby during the pandemic (in 2020) and my wife had forgotten her mask. We wouldn't have been able to go in without it. Rather than go back home or to a CVS nearby to grab a mask, I thought this clothing store might be selling some and popped in while my wife waited outside. After I explained the situation, the super kind owner gave me one for free. So cool! After our brunch, we came back (as we promised we would) and shopped around, and my wife really enjoyed the cute and eclectic selection of clothes, accessories, and jewelry. I recognize a few from Intermix and they were like that there too. I don't know if they're just unhappy people or if working selling clothes is not for them. Regardless they make shopping there a chore instead of a fun experience. Second the return policy is very strict. I get it it's a small independent business, but it does make it tempting to just buy the thing I like online or at Nordstroms or Neiman's.

I could tell she puts her heart and soul into her business - plus, she's got great taste in clothes! I didn't buy anything although I did try a few cute dresses and tops on... nothing fit me perfectly, but there were so many cute things there, and for the most part, everything was moderately priced. (The dresses and tops I tried on ranged from $100 - $250, but I could tell it was quality and unique designers that I hadn't really seen before). There were also a couple of sale racks outside with some cute summery items. I didn't have enough time to look as much as I would've liked... and I didn't even go through the men's side much either, so I'll have to return to do so. Melissa mentioned that she does quite a bit of business from her website, so I'll have to check that out, but lucky us that live in the area, we can pop into the store anytime and not worry about shipping, etc... I'll definitely keep Bijou in mind for future shopping needs - and even just to window shop around the Borgata area - it's dog friendly and will be so pleasant when the weather cools down!

I'm also a regular Last Chance shopper in Phoenix, and on multiple occasions I've seen very specific designer pieces there at deeply discounted prices, only to see what appear to be the same items show up at My Sister's Closet shortly afterward for significantly more. It's happened enough times that it's hard not to notice. I obviously can't confirm where MSC is sourcing these items, but based on what I've personally observed, I question whether some inventory is being purchased from Last Chance or other clearance sources and marked up for resale. The biggest disappointment is the pricing. Their prices are now comparable to The RealReal, but with a fraction of the selection and no return policy. At that point, there's really no incentive to shop here anymore. As a longtime customer, it's disappointing because finding unique designer pieces at genuinely good resale prices was what made MSC so great.

There are many products with small amounts of shea butter but not organic from the tree trunk that it comes in. They were also great with the boots, helping me figure out what size actually worked for me across different styles and brands. That part matters because cowboy boot sizing can feel like it was invented by someone who wanted to make online shopping impossible. What I appreciated most was that they weren't pushy. They clearly knew their stuff, explained the differences, and seemed to genuinely enjoy helping me find the right fit.
