Be aware of selling with my sister's closet. Lesson learned that they lose track of your items, and don't know whether they donated them or the items are still on the floor. I have to physically come into the store (they are currently working at) in order to find out if the items are still in the store. Be warned I consigned a vintage turquoise, beautiful sterling silver bracelet that was listed over $700 at My Sister's Closet in Encinitas, California, several weeks ago. I called the store to inquire why it was no longer on their website and the answer was they didn't know weeks past I went up there to get my bracelet and was told a customer dropped. It cracked it. This is a precious turquoise stone, and that Sister's Closet sent it out for repair without calling me and notifying me. Shopped at this location this week and it seems as though the prices of the clothes have almost doubled which was surprising, They did have a pretty fun and fashion forward selection which was great but the downside was the absolute appalling customer service, I'm not sure the last time someone spoke to me with such disdain, disregard and disrespect.... I went to My Sister's Closet in Scottsdale on February 17th around 2:15-2:30 PM and left extremely disappointed. If you're from Arizona, you know this store. It's one of those places people casually reference as a go-to consignment spot in Scottsdale. I've also seen people on TikTok mention going there for "luxury finds," which is why I wanted to visit. I genuinely do not understand what luxury finds people are talking about. The only clear designer pieces I saw were Chanel. Everything else felt dated, mostly early 2010s style, and overpriced for the condition. I thrift often, so I understand resale value. The pricing did not reflect the quality. The store itself was messy and poorly organized. It didn't feel curated. Even the exterior signage feels outdated. Presentation matters, especially for a store with this kind of local reputation. Inside, you cannot tell who works there. I was asked twice by other customers if I worked there. One girl who looked like a shopper had her purse on her shoulder while putting clothes back on hangers, then set it on a rack and continued organizing. Another staff member told her to grab something from the back, making it obvious she was an employee. There is zero visual distinction between staff and shoppers. It's confusing and unprofessional. The back area near the dressing rooms was chaotic. I tried on a shirt and put it back exactly where I found it. As I walked out, an employee (white woman with brown hair and bangs, working February 17th around 2-3 PM) looked me up and down and said, "You just had one, right?" in an accusatory tone. Every item in the store is secured with multiple ink tags, making theft nearly impossible. The implication was unnecessary and uncomfortable, especially when I had just returned the item in plain view. That same employee was loudly complaining about customers not putting clothes back while other shoppers were in the fitting area and could clearly hear her. It came across as rude and unprofessional. The phone was ringing repeatedly and no one answered it. The checkout area felt chaotic. The entire space lacked ambiance and felt cluttered rather than boutique. I've been to consignment stores in Tucson that are far more organized and welcoming. For a store that people in Arizona "just know" about, this experience did not live up to the name. The customer service was awful. I was looking for an item that showed as available on the website at this location. When I asked, the young woman about it, she said she didn't know and if I couldn't find it, she would help me look. I told her several minutes later I couldn't find it and she said she'd come help me in a few more minutes. She stood there and talked to her coworker for 15 minutes and never ever followed through. It was a $695 jacket that I would've bought if she had spared the time to help me find it. I was also looking at other items, but I won't give my business to a store like this. read more

I've been to this store several times and the women working are never friendly. They act like they're put out having to help in any way. I went back the other day with my sister and we both found a couple things. My sister was interested in a leather Chanel skirt, but it was torn open in the seam. She asked if it was maybe fixable or what they could do with the pricing. The gal took my sister's number and said she'd let her know. I also found a $250+ jacket, but it was missing the belt. I asked her if she could call the consigner to see if she might still have it. The same gal was going to get back to me about that. Sounded good to us. The next day, my niece wanted to check out the store so I popped back in with her. Oddly enough, both items were back on the racks! The tags have no mention of being "As is" and have the same prices on them. So, not only did we completely get ignored and have still, days later not received a call, they are being sold online to unsuspecting customers. The Chanel skirt literally has a 6 inch tear down the seam and the online site says no returns. This is crazy! It's definitely not the consigner's fault either because the photos show it in good condition. If this store has any sort of decency, they'd pay the consigner for the item right now. The store should also be paying to dry clean the large amount of items that have dirt on them so the consigners will actually have a chance to sell them. My niece pulled out a pretty white top that was covered in dirt. I would definitely never consign here. I'm only giving 2 stars, rather than one, because I have found a few things I like. Quite literally my favorite store to exist. As a lover for designer and fashion, this store has everything from shoes to jackets, athletic wear and the most perfect accessories. I appreciate the curated selection and have nothing negative to say about the store. The workers are so friendly and always treat me so nicely. They suggested the most perfect pieces for me and the price is hard to beat for luxury items. Those complaining about the prices have no idea how much value these items really worth in the fashion and designer world. 10/10 always read more

I HATE the changes they've made to the Scottsdale Rd location over by the mall. The store has completely gone from affordable higher end clothing to ridiculously priced all high end designer wear. I've been a loyal customer for YEARS now, it all Started at their Chandler location, where you could spend hours in the store and not feel overwhelmed by insane ticket prices. An employee informed my they're trying to go completely high end now and that "maybe their other locations have cheaper options" Listen, I get that designer clothing can be expensive but I feel like they've taken away their bread and butter. Which are USED clothing at affordable pricing. I walked through the store last week and was out in less than 10 minutes. If you're looking to spend $50 on a nice used dress, this is NOT the store for you. I would rather buy new at this point which is what I've been doing. WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE! In every MSC I've been in, the attitudes range from indifferent, to rude. Seems to be a corporate culture. I've been treated so condescendingly by so-called managers (particularly in the "intake" areas.... Talking to you, Lincoln and Desert Village stores) that I am considering no longer even being a customer of My Sisters Attic, which I've been patronizing for 20 years.... And at which, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars! Its become clear that they mainly want to cater to the people who are either buying or consigning ultra high-end/couture pieces (I've discovered they're called their "VIP customers"). The remainder of us are treated with disdain. The funny thing is, the employees who are dishing out this nasty treatment are badly and quite often trashily dressed... along with heavy makeup, stringy hair, and plenty of "I could give a rat's butt" attitude. Nothing says "professional" in their demeanor or their attire. If you, Sisters Closet, only want to accept and sell very high-end pieces, please emblazon your doors with that message instead of wasting our time and treating us like dirt! Take note, new owners... Customer service was appalling at best and non-existent In reality. Brought in several all most new items, including several newer dresses from a designer brand favored by Princess Kate. This "test" of their knowledge and acceptance of current fashion preferences failed - they practically pushed us back out the door. So rude and disrespectful. I really wanted to love this consignment store because I've been coming here for a while, but the experience has changed so much that I don't feel welcome anymore. The customer service is consistently cold, and it's pretty clear that unless you're a big-ticket spender, the staff isn't very interested in helping you. It's disappointing, because consignment shopping should feel fun and inviting -- not uncomfortable. The prices have also gone way up, and not in a reasonable way. I've seen several items here listed for more than the actual retail websites were selling them for. The quality doesn't match the price tags, and it feels like they've completely lost touch with what consignment pricing should look like. They used to have great deals, but now everything is marked so high that it just sits... and I've noticed they're constantly running sales, probably because the items aren't moving. I liked supporting this business, but between the unwelcoming atmosphere and the unrealistic pricing, I don't feel like this is a good place for me to shop anymore. Be aware of this company since it has been bought by new owners. They lost two very expensive coats. One $1000 brand new and one $700 brand new. I am moving to kauai and will not be needing them so I took them to this store. Weeks after calling, coming in they said coats have not been priced yet. Now they tell me they were donated. They said since I don't have photos there is nothing they can do. They also could not find an expensive handbag that was new. After getting very upset, they suddenly found it the next day. I was always leery of these kind of places, but previously took 6 Louis Vuitton bags down prior and they sold in two days. Then the second time they suddenly lost my items. Be very careful when dropping off expensive items. They don't put what the item is in their system so if you do not have photos it's a crap shoot. read more

It used to be great on the men's and women's side. Now the prices are way high They want $69 for a shirt you could buy new for $100. I think part of the business is hoping the stuff doesn't sell, then they have a lot of clothes for free and move those for 100% profit. So, I would ask, how many people leave clothes on consignment but never take them back. Forget consignment. Donate your clothes. You will get 22-37% deductions, more than you may have kept making deals on consignment. I think a better model would be to just buy used clothes, then sell them. read more

I love this place, and I've spent more than enough money at this location, but when a pair of jeans should have been marked down to 50% off but wasn't due to a tagging error, I requested to speak the manager. A woman with glasses named Maria (Well Suited Side) came from behind and, with a blank stare and no acknowledgment or introduction, just stood there rude and cold. I explained the error in not tagging the item as jeans but as pants to get 50%. Maria looking at my husband and me blankly stated there nothing she could do... I was okay with that, but the sheer disrespectful attitude behind her words was annoying. I'm sorry, should I have not asked. A simple I apologize for the error. There's nothing I could do that could have been sufficient. IS THIS WHAT MY SISTER'S CLOSET IS HIRING AS MANAGEMENT MATERIAL. I'm a nurse dealing with patients and people daily, and I would never treat people like that. You may want to retrain your management staff on how to treat customers. read more

It's always been great but I must say over the last couple of years it's gotten even better with necessary staffing changes, elevated merchandising and more luxurious merchandise, especially for men. Special shoutout to Cynthia for being a stellar stylist (and friend) for years, and for Anissa and Maria for always taking such good care of me on the ladies' side when I shop with them. Also Santino and Tammy at the Attic! Just everyone actually. I am always treated with such respect and professionalism at MSC and their affiliated stores, and as a result have encouraged many colleagues to bring their business to the company from other competitors. The best consignment store for well curated clothing and accessories in the area, I think most of the one star reviews are off based. Prices are fair and similar to the real real or vestiare collective. I think people giving bad reviews for the pricing don't understand the original price of the stuff they sell or the element of scarcity with vintage designer items that warrants a high price. Also they aren't obliged to accept items you bring in to consign, you can think they are cute but My Sisters Closet may not. Style is subjective and the items you bring in may not fit their audience. And if you want to make a certain amount selling something use eBay or depop instead of consigning. Twenty eight days ago I took three designer items to this consignment store. They took all three items and told me I would need to call or come back to the store in 60 days to either be paid for items sold or to pick up my clothes. Today when I stopped at the store I was told 2 items had not sold but I could leave them for another 30 days because the 60 days started when they actually priced the clothes and put them on the floor. First time I knew this! I decided to pick up my clothes anyway. I was given a sheet and told to go onto the floor and find my items! I was in shock. The store is large and packed with used clothes. I asked for some direction to find my clothes. I was pointed to the designer racks. After 30 minutes of searching, I went up front and asked for help. A young woman went with me searching. We could not find my clothes. She then went to her manager. She came back and told me that my clothes were not in the Scottsdale store! She said they were at the Biltmore store and I would need to go there to pick up my clothes. Shock again! That store is miles from where I live. No one ever told me that my clothes could end up at another store. I will never bring my clothes to this business again. I do not recommend doing business there. read more

CONSIGNING WITH MY SISTER'S CLOSET IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED I contacted My Sister's Closet to consign a vintage beaded jacket that had been worn one time. It sold very quickly. Their website states payments will be made in 4 days. When I contacted the corporate office the voice message said they had no employees and to call the Scottsdale store. I spoke to an employee who told me my item did sell and that she would write a check that day but that it would take weeks for it to be mailed. They received my jacket on 8/25/22. It sold in 2 weeks. It is mid October and I have not received payment. They do have a very nice selection of clothing, accessories and jewelry for sale at very good prices. I just think they should update their website to state that payments for items sold are not readily available. Their contract states that checks will be mailed to out-of-state consignors. I am an out-of-state consignor. Local consignors can pick up their checks at the store. read more

All barely worn all this season or last season. all which she (one VERy mean lady in the back who is the clothes police, apparently, and has terrible style herself)) snubbed her nose at and rejected. I asked her if there were other consignment stores in the area, she said she didn't know. Then when I asked who is the competition? She said she didn't know. I brought in clothes to be consigned, they picked what they wanted, proceeded to donate items that they decided they didn't want to put on the showroom floor after all (so took my designer items and bypassed trying to sell them OR contacting me about getting the items back and just sent them straight to donation). Then they said I can come get whatever didn't sell but I have to find it and pay them $5 per item to get it back. I have been coming here for years, and I do love the quality of the products here. You can get high end clothing, shoes, and bags for a great price, specially when they run their occasional sales. What's consistently awful here is their customer service. They are somewhat snobby and if you don't fit the bill of a Caucasian affluent female, they do treat you with disregard, both at the register and at the consignment area. From years on end, it's the same old sales clerks that have this attitude. I have seen other reviews here with the same complaints. The owner often present at the store. I am sure this haven't been brought up to her before, so why not replace the condescending staff with affable ones.
