Or when they are spitting into the trees planted on the street. I hate how people accuse me of being racist when I'm not.... It's called hygienes. Don't spit on the floor or the trees. Also school police move kids along the road when they are blocking it in groups after school is done. So why can't the police move these people when their services are over and they are literally just hanging out on the street. Regular pedestrians can't walk from Point A to Point B. What in the world! Like the police aren't there to arrest it. It's just a standard, "move it along, keep it moving, let's go." But this place thinks it owns the entire block smh.

Like the other reviewers have noted, $400 for a wedding site in midtown Manhattan is not too shabby...! They throw in a rehearsal hour as well. The space is very cool - marble alter, beautiful stained glass in the back, ample seating for about 100 people. There is also a beautiful curving staircase that leads to a park a block down from the site. It's easy to get to, easy to find, and relatively easy to book. We booked less than a year in advance. Some things that one should know about the place though... It's not your typical church. There is a center pew flanked by two aisles so there will be no "bride side" and "grooms side." You won't be walking down the middle of the aisle... more like choosing the left or right aisle. Also, the church empties right out onto First Avenue so there is not much of a grand entrance or exit out of the church. One thing that peeved me is that two weeks before the wedding, we were informed that on Saturdays, air conditioning for the building gets turned off at 1pm. Therefore, in order to have a/c for our 4pm wedding, we would have to pay for the air conditioning fee from 1pm until 5pm... at a rate of $300/hr! We just decided to risk it and not pony up the money... and luckily, it was 70 degrees that day (in August!) The coordinator is not the easiest to get in contact with, but she will get everything done.

Then seeing the laden gold statues of Buddha at the front of the temple it was easy to fade into the Zen aura of Eastern Asia. The temple offers various literature for free and are open to you sitting in the meditation area during nonservice hours to study. I would recommend stopping in, Buddhist or not, it is a tranquil space full of high energy
