I've seen DOs and PAs at this office, and I've always felt like they take time each visit to listen to my problems. They will offer Western medicine solutions, as well as Eastern (they provide acupuncture in-office) and other natural remedies. Mostly, I like coming here because they block out an entire 30 minutes for your appointment, and they really do take the time to listen. It's very rare to find doctors who will listen. On one of my recent visits, I found out that the doctor I was visiting has a therapy dog accompany her when she visits patients! My anxiety about doctor visits is usually through the roof, but having a doggie there to pet and gaze lovingly upon during my visit really helped center me. From now on, I 100% always want a dog be a part of every doctor visit. I've never had to wait very long in the waiting room, nor in the smaller room, to see the doctor. Every time I've been there, they have scheduled their appointments well so that there wasn't too much waiting time.

However, that is not what I found. At my diagnostic conference I learned they use Dr. Peter McCollough's protocol to treat Long Covid. His protocol, using Ivermectin, has been discredited for years, yet he still promotes it. Baylor's Health System where he was employed has disassociated itself from him. Texas A&M College of Medicine removed him from their faculty. And the American Board of Internal Medicine has revoked his certifications. Because LI is using this discredited protocol, I felt I could not trust their other very numerous supplement recommendations. In addition, LI does not believe in taking any Covid Vaccines, believes the vaccines are causing my problems, and advised against the boosters, despite my explaining that I've never had an adverse reaction to any of the boosters, only tremendous problems from my two actual cases of Covid illness. While I believe vaccine injury is real for some people, that is not my case. I am doing everything possible to prevent another Covid illness, but they advised me not to wear a mask or get another vaccine. We clearly were in 2 different camps. Had I known this from the beginning, I would have saved myself a great deal of money and 4-5 months of waiting to get help. While some of their lifestyle suggestions were helpful, and I don't doubt they have helped others with different health issues, I am looking elsewhere for Long Covid treatment.

I have left several doctors and dentists, purely because the support staff is so awful. Dr. Brengle's team never make me feel like I'm an imposition or a number. I am treated respectfully and my time is respected. Dr. Brengle is the best doctor I have ever had. I have migraines and asthma. Many medications to treat one can exacerbate the other. He has worked hard to help me find the correct mix of medications without making me feel like a guinea pig. He has never treated me like a pill seeker or a hypochondriac, which unfortunately is not common when addressing migraines. Dr. Brengle is not afraid to tackle tough subjects and he does it with grace and tact. During my physical last year, he made the tough choice to address my weight. At the time I was very overweight, with blood pressure issues, and high cholesterol. He discussed what I have tried to lose weight and provided me with information on the most recent studies on weight loss. He didn't give me anything gimmicky or try to sell me supplements. It was basic nutrition 101 - eat less, exercise more. He explained that studies show you lose weight simply by being accountable to someone. I started coming in weekly, then biweekly, then monthly to weigh in and talk about any struggles I was having. It's been almost a year since that appointment. I've gone from a size 18 to a size 8, losing 42 pounds. I've maintained my weight for the last three months, despite the pandemic bringing stress and making it harder to get lots of protein and fresh vegetables at grocery stores. Weight loss doesn't solve all your problems, but it has solve quite a bit of mine. My blood pressure is down, normal BMI, good cholesterol, great blood sugar, all of my stats are in a healthy range. I'm 41 and just put on a skirt from college. Finally, Dr. Brengle makes himself available 24/7 in many ways. I have had in-person visits, phone call visits, and sent him pictures and messages after hours for rashes, injuries, etc. It was weird to do the club medicine thing. You pay a flat rate every month, which gives you access to unlimited appointments. For someone who rarely goes to the doctor, this may not be a good fit for you. For someone like me that has health conditions that need frequent monitoring, I've saved a bundle of money. And it is comforting to know that anytime I need a doctor, I know who I will see, that he will be available, and it will not be a hassle.
