For 9 years they have taken amazing care of my pets. We have also fostered a few and they saw them for shots and routine check ups. They found a malignant on my dog and removed it And I could not be more grateful. If you are able to be taken as a patient always show up or call to cancel because sadly I re-homed our staff since he could not live in the rental I'm at and the ppl that took him promised to drop him at his neuter appt and never did. So the no call no show has me out of their office now and sadly we are losing the most affordable best vet in the area because I trusted these ppl but they had their own human emergency and sadly it's not the vet's problem. But I will say they are the best. They let me keep my last spay appt for our kitty that we had already on calendar and it's so affordable with them. I was looking at $270 for an 8 lb cat at plains but starts at $125 here and that's amazing. Even with adding stuff like fluids, blood work, a chip and nail trim- still under the 270 lol so yea they are the best and most affordable and all the staff are caring , compassionate women. We love All About Animals and maybe they will take us back in future. I'd offer to pay the neuter that we missed if anything lol that's how much they are worth to me. read more

We have been patients of here for decades, when Dr. Jerry McDonald was the vet, and we used to go to his home. My, how things have changed. Jerry's daughter took over the practice after her father passed. We have taken 4 dogs and nearly 10 cats over the years to her, the last two showed up at our house with terrible eye infections, and have to have the eyes removed. But, it saved them, so it needed to be done. We lost our girl, Molly a month ago. Molly had a torn ACL at an early age, and got arthritis, and started to gain weight. She then put her on a special diet, which was over $100 a bag, which was high in protein, causing more weight gain. The bottom line, she was heavy, and could not lose weight. Anyway, my wife found another dog for our lab to play with at a rescue, and we decided as a family, to go for it. We used All About Animals as our vet reference, and the next day our visit was cancelled because the rescue was told by Dr. Mcdonald that we overfeed our pets. WTF? Our kids are skinny, our 5 cats are skinny, and our remaining dog is skinny. But are one dog was heavy, and had the medical reasons to back it up. What a shitty thing to do to two little kids who took the loss of their dog very hard, but were excited to move on and give another dog a chance. Please do yourself a favor, and look elsewhere for a vet. Her father would have never done that, and I hope some day she answers for it. Stay away. read more

Extremely compassionate and knowledgeable with the care my dog and cats have received. Everyone there is amazing and goes above and beyond, especially Dr McDonald who always explains things and has the best interest of the animal at heart. Speaking from experience as one of my cats has had numerous health problems and my dog had some as well in her old age. Highly recommend and would not even consider going anywhere else. read more

They are absolutely the best vets in the NEPA area. Over the years I have had many cats and have consulted with many local vets. Once I found All About Animals, I was hooked. They are kind and caring people to both the animals and their owners. How many vets take the time or make the effort to send a condolence card when we lose one of our animals. That really touched my heart! I highly recommend them and their practice. Besides Dr. Jerry McDonald, the owner/vet, his daughter, Dr. Megan McDonald is one of the working vets in this practice. We moved into the area 9 months ago. We were searching for a vet that would fit our pups and our finances. We found All About Animals as my friend had started to bring her Cats here. The doctors and staff were wonderful. We brought our 3 in at one time it was smooth and done calmly and with great care for each one. Our girls received the shots they needed, the meds needed. All without over pricing us. It was a friendly and calm environment. We are definitely staying as patients. read more

My parents and I have taken our dogs and cat here for years. Always reasonably priced which is extremely rare to find for veterinary services. Always promptly returns our calls, even after hours. Our cat had to have abscesses drained several times and stay overnight, and they always took great care of him. They sent us a card when he passed away from old age. Thank you for being such a great vet! I would disregard the bad review someone left. Reviews are extremely subjective and I usually don't believe or leave reviews for this reason. I'm a healthcare (human) provider and take the health of my animals seriously. Don't make assumptions based off one bad review. Go see how great they are for yourself. Thanks again guys! read more

The doctor and assistant are very patient and compassionate in times of distress. I had to let my rabbit go, he was old, extremely arthritic and struggling. They allowed me all the time I needed to say goodbye. For this I am forever grateful. I will continue to use this clinic for all my vet needs. And would recommend them for any of your animal needs. read more

If I could, I would give this vet zero stars. We took our new Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix puppy to Dr. McDonald for his second round of shots, as the breeder had taken him here for his first round. He remembered the litter of puppies, which seemed like a good start. However, it was all downhill from there. I had suspected our puppy was deaf because he wasn't really responding to any of our attempts to get his attention. Dr. McDonald's version of a hearing "test" was to pick him up, belly pointed to the ceiling, and make a kissing noise. When he didn't respond, Dr. McDonald said my suspicions were correct. Without even looking in his ears, and nearly dropping him several times, our puppy is deaf. My other concern was that his head was tilted to one side. To Dr. McDonald, this meant he also has neurological issues and possibly even parasites in his brain. Not one test was run to confirm these suspicions. He suggested I get my money back from the breeder because I will be "dealing with a lot of problems and money". Mind you, several of the breeder's dogs have been under Dr. McDonald's care over the years. He also wanted me to "be prepared" because he "does not think he is going to last long". My three year old daughter was in the room, and he is telling us that our ten week old puppy is basically on his deathbed. Again, this is all without running a single blood test. Before leaving, Dr. McDonald prescribed B Complex liquid drops and said they will monitor his progress. Blatantly upset by all of this news, we decided to get a second opinion and take him to our normal vet, who has been treating our older dog for intestinal issues for some time. Turns out, our puppy is certainly not deaf and MinPin/Chihuahua mixes are known for their tilted heads. This does not automatically mean he has neuro issues. He would not be able to properly eat, drink, pee, or run if he had neuro issues. She performed several tests, as well as called in 3 other vets in the practice to take a look at him, and all disagreed with Dr. McDonald's diagnoses. Also, our puppy could have overdosed and died from the B Complex. Luckily, we waited to give him anything until we saw our normal vet. Because of his size and his breed, he will need to be monitored, but this will all be done with the proper care and testing under our normal vet. I will never step foot into Dr. McDonald's offices again and I highly suggest you do not either. read more

Dr McDonald is a caring vet. I've taken a number of cats to him to be altered and get shots. One of the cats had inverted testicles and came through the surgery without complications. Dr McDonald goes above and beyond to help the animals in his care, including emergency visits. Dr McDonald is more of an animal person than people person. He appears abrupt and no nonsense but it's all about the animals anyway. I give Dr. McDonald four stars only because of his reluctance to handle some cats. If a cat is not completely tame, he is hesitant to work with it without sedation. I won't sedate any animal unless completely necessary. Since I TNR on my own, there are many cats I cannot take here due to my reluctance for sedation, as I give cats a complete set of shots and will not sedate them for this. Otherwise, I've never had cause for complaint. read more
