I can honestly say All About Dance by Kristen is a premier studio for children and adults of all ages and ability to literally strut their stuff. The emphasis is on each student being the very best they can be! That attitude toward the students translates into confidence, self awareness, artistic expression and excellence in the art of dance. In business for over 30yrs, thousands have passed through the AADBK doors and now enjoy successful careers and life skills due in part to the lessons learns at AADBK. I danced at AADBK for 13 years, throughout which I was enrolled in tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, and acro. This is not a welcoming environment at all. The favoritism is flagrant and pervasive; if you are not in competition or the child of a staff member, you will be blatantly ignored. Additionally, the atmosphere was openly hostile. I was bullied by both adults and other children there because I was not as proficient as the competition girls. The instructors were openly cruel to both me and others who did not fit their image, and my peers were often worse. I spent over a decade at AADBK, and I left feeling burned out, insecure, and devalued. My love for dance suffered immensely because the environment was toxic, not inspiring. Lori Messner at the front desk is the only one employed there who is worth any of your time. Kristen is a greedy woman who encourages this environment and should not be allowed to work with children. Your money will be better spent literally anywhere else, and you won't spend half as much as this place charges. read more

My daughter loves All About Dance! By Kristen!! She is in her third year and has tried tap, ballet, Acro, Jazz, and hip hop. Her teachers have all been wonderful. I danced at All About Dance by Kristen for 10 years and was exclusively loyal to this studio for all 10 of those years. As i got a little older i realized that some of the things that we were "required" to do in order to be on competition teams were a little bit much for a child so i wanted to scale back on the amount of classes i was in. To compete we were required to take a ballet class that was followed up by an exam where you were EXPECTED to know french terms and if you didn't pass then you were essentially held back. Imagine the pressure this has on a young child who is also in school. Occasionally a ballet instructor would come in who would hit students with objects, such as remotes, to make them do the moves the way she wanted. On top of this, we had competition dances, recital dances, extra "required" classes and my parents were charged an outrageous amount of money for honestly not that great of training and tacky overpriced costumes. My time at this studio ended when I was removed from the competition team for not doing well in my ballet exam. I had planned to keep dancing to get my 10 year award, but wanted to leave after the recital that i had learned all the dances for. I had reached out to an instructor employed at the studio to assist me in a potential transition to a new studio because i wasn't sure what i wanted to do at the end of the year, but i never heard back from him. The day after i sent the message asking for help, to my little 12 year old surprise, Miss Kristen had decided my fate for me. I went to dance one day, was called into her office, and she slid me a tuition check that my parents had turned in a day prior. She said i was no longer welcome in this studio that I called home for 10 years. I was devastated. She took my passion and completely broke me. On top of that, she was getting her information about me quitting early, which was a lie, from a man who turned out to be grooming her students and messaging them inappropriately. After I was kicked out, I did not dance for a long time, I was severely depressed because how could a place that i called home and these people i thought cared about me do this to me? I found a new studio eventually and my BIGGEST regret is not starting at the studio i ended up at. The studio i ended up at cared about each student, gave equal opportunity to everyone, had amazing training, and ended up being the most amazing thing i have ever been a part of. My children and anyone who ever asks me about where to dance will be sent to this new studio because All About Dance is not where children should be taught to dance... it is a mentally abusive place and I have not and never will recommend it to anyone. read more

I had no issues with this place until I signed my daughter up for two classes that she would do on her own. We previously did the mommy and me courses for over a year but I wanted her to try the courses she would do on her own. She refused to do both classes due to her shy nature. I kindly called the studio and asked what the refund policy was as I had spent almost $200 on the courses that she would not complete. I left a detailed message explaining the situation with no answer then called again and spoke with someone that assured me I would get a call back. I in no way demanded a refund as I could not find a policy listed. . I simply asked and said it was ok if I did not but I just wanted to check. I was ignored again as though I was a huge nuisance. They appear to have plenty of students so they don't feel the need to return phone calls or be courteous in any way unless it benefits them. I have been dancing at the studio for 15 years, and now all three of my children dance there as well. We look forward to classes each week and can't wait to perform in the recital. I highly recommend this studio for girls, boys, and adults! read more
