It would be nice if someone called you back or let you know how your dog is doing. I wasn't offered a tour, felt rushed upon dropping off & they charged an extra fee for the afternoon pick up. I dropped at 5 picked up at 4pm and would have done so earlier if I could have. The place seemed over run by dogs like they took too many in & on top of it my vaccinated dog got kennel cough. Never again.

When we walked in, there were not dogs barking wildly at one another as we have seen at other kennels. Each kennel has solid sides so they don't feel threatened by other dogs nearby. The dogs have their own run that during the day the door is lifted so they can go outside. We put our dogs together in one kennel and the owner will separate them during feeding time, so that one is not stealing food or causing problems with the other one. A nice touch! The dogs also will not interact with other dogs during their stay, which is good for us, as one of our dogs does not do well with others. Don is the owner and is very nice and soft-spoken. He seems to have a very gentle way about him. On the phone, he may sound a little standoffish, but when you meet him in person, you realize that it is only his soft-spokeness and he is very friendly. My dogs who are normally anxious around new people did not seem to have that reaction with him at all. Prices are extremely reasonable. Bring your own blankets or dog beds as separate ones are not provided. They do offer additional services such as baths for an additional fee during the dog's stay. Our dogs left there calm, and not stressed at all. I feel extremely comfortable bringing them back for a week during our vacation as I know, they will be in good hands.

Monty has been there several times now, and we honestly won't go any other place. The owner Don is kind, he really knows dogs, and he runs a clean & safe kennel. He's been flexible and understanding when changes happen in our schedule (we even did an emergency drop-off once without calling ahead). It's hard for me to comprehend that this is what veterinary care has come to…read more I arrived at their door at approximately 2 PM with my German Shorthaired Pointer who had 30 minutes prior encountered a porcupine and suffered the resulting mouth full of quills and obvious stress and discomfort. The response from the vet was "we're just about to start our afternoon procedures and can't help". Stunned I asked "really, she has a mouth full of quills"... the reply: "we're sorry" I then drove another 25 minutes to the vet on Falmouth Foreside who admitted us and after administering a mild sedative removed the quills and discharged my pup 30 minutes later. I would never recommend Cumberland Animal Clinic to anyone. Hopefully the vet didn't have too hard a day and got home on time. Again, is this what small animal veterinary care has become?

From the doctors to the…read moretechnicians to the front of house staff, every single person I have interacted with there has been exceptionally kind, professional, above and beyond proficient, and absolutely informed and able to help me with whatever my needs may be. They have often been able to squeeze me in last minute when necessary, I have never had to wait past my scheduled appointment time, the office is immaculate, and Dr. Lucas especially has gone above and beyond for me as veterinarian. My dog absolutely adores it there; there is no place he is more excited to be. This excitement results in a rather naughty, licky, and rambunctious pup, but the people at CAC love him anyway, handling his energy with compassion and skill. I feel that my dog recieves the best care possible, and that I am treated with fairness, kindness, and respect. After receiving treatment at CAC, I always receive a follow up call to check on my dog's progress. Una's medical care is better than my own! Horrible. They gave me a rx that I requested but was signed by the former vet they fired (she was…read morethe only good vet there). I sent the rx to Chewy and they refused it saying that vet no longer worked there. Chewy said they just needed his current vet to call them to confirm the rx or fax a new one. She refused and said we had to come in personally to get the new rx (wanted us to buy it there $$$$$$). They didn't care if my dog recieved his proper medication, just wanted the money. Then my dog needed to have bloodwork done and is a gentle giant, not a mean bone in his body, and she said he would have to come back and wanted me to give him a total of 18 pills, yes 18. to basically knock him out. I refused to give him all 18 and only gave him what his former vet there always prescribed, which was 4 Trazadone at night and 4 that morning. When we took him to his appt. they refused to give him the shot he needed or even try to get his blood because we didn't give him all 18 pills! They expect you to pay 18.00 extra per visit supposedly toward the vet techs education. If we are all paying that much toward their education then maybe they need to go back to school to learn how to quickly and efficiently draw blood from a big ole teddy bear dog that wouldn't hurt a flea. So, I drugged my dog for nothing and now he is home dry heaving coming down off the Trazadone I gave him! The receptionist needs to learn how to smile and greet patients as well.
