During a dodgeball game, my son was hit in the face by another camper. After returning to the gym, he was sitting on the floor outside the game boundaries when the same child hit him in the face second time. The instructor admitted they were not even present during the second incident. Due to current poor air quality conditions, the camp had crowded too many children into the indoor gym, yet they failed to provide adequate supervision. The impact was severe; even a half-hour later, his eye was visibly swollen and partially closed. Management blindly accepted the other camper's claim that it was an "accident." However, the odds of being hit directly in the face twice by the same child in a single game--especially while sitting out of bounds--are incredibly low. It deserved a real investigation. When I arrived, my son was completely calm, yet management refused to facilitate a basic apology or let us ask for an explanation. They sent the injured kid home, while completely shielding the aggressive child from any consequences. My younger son did not have a better time there. He was also repeatedly poked by a child over three days, and the instructors' only response was a lazy "don't push" or "don't fight". On top of the safety failures, the camp is severely overcrowded. The kids face massive wait times just getting in and out of the pool or finding their groups during morning orientation. Too much time is wasted on long, boring instructions, leaving very little active play time.

Classes are very small but it is perfect for people who have school or work during daytime, and enrolment fees won't break the bank, so might as well take it lightly instead of a serious school where you learn to become artists. I took various painting and drawing classes and photography lessons, with which I am happy as I became knowledgable with those activities but there were some cancelled classes time to time. And sometimes classes are boring as not many people are enrolled and instructors would end early where he would not know what to do with remaining time.

The Power Soccer program is an excellent, well run, high value organization…read more Over the last couple of years, we have had both our kids attend a number of their weeklong summer day camp programs, and one child has been enrolled for the past two years in their yearlong academy program. We have been impressed with both. The summer camps - which run on a weekly basis - are well organized, coached by skilled and engaged coaches, and value adding in terms of skills. Not babysitting programs, the kids came back each day excited about the program and keen to return. The coaches expect engagement and commitment and the kids buy in. The Power organization is responsive and easy to deal with. The invitation-only academy program has been excellent. It is not an insignificant commitment. Our 10 year old practices three days a week and in season, plays a game also. We've been impressed with the well-oiled structure, the knowledge and empathy of the coaching staff, and the culture of civility and professionalism that Power FC imbues in both its students and their parents. For children of this age, the program is focused on skills development, and team games are not all about winning - they are an extension of the learning opportunity. As a result, the kids are focused on their own development, they are supportive and play well with each other, and no one - parents included - has too much at stake in any given game. Power expects the parents to be supportive but not coaching from the sidelines, and the difference between this quietly professional style and the 'tiger parent/coach' is often evident on the sidelines in our games. In our case, our child is one of two girls playing on what is otherwise a boys' team - sadly there are not enough girls to field a girls only team. She feels included and valued by both the coaching staff and her team members, and on rare occasions when they have played against girls teams, they have played kids a year older, and typically dominated. Seeing my daughter play in other forums with kids her age validates my perspective that the skills she is learning at Power are among the best available in the city.

They don't need to be qualified & you get monetary compensation. -They provide the best outcome for kids, simply because their grading standards require more to pass. Creating stronger swimmers than the City and most other programs I've experienced. The Cons: -Jack of Sports is the least educated "Swim School" I've seen in the sense of most of the staff are not certified to teach swimming lessons nor have much if any first aid training. Management more commonly obtain even fewer qualifications in the courses that they oversee causing a noticeable disconnect. -I vehemently suggest to parents to check if your child's lifeguard is certified, Jack of Sports' Upper Management does not do an appropriate job of keeping track of staff certifications. They are unaware when or if staff are expired or need to renew. I have personally worked shifts here, with no certified Lifeguard on deck. -Management Organization needs improvement, this deeply ties into having too many uncertified and untrained Managers in the field they are overseeing. Their approach to bringing on new staff with little training themselves leads to poor hires. This extends into the classroom space where poor teaching styles lead to multiple required make up classes for students who fail. It was also reported to me that a JoS lifeguard used a Lysol wipe to clean a kids wound. It wouldn't be documented though, as I have not seen this company use an Incident report once. I hope the child is okay. -They often attempt to remove or cover up negative reviews about them from platforms like Google. When with them, I encouraged them to change the opinion of the reviews by showing quality service. Finding Google New Articles about their conduct is especially troubling. In my opinion, Jack of Sports could be the next "Toronto Lifeguarding"

We signed up for the course and I made an error. I fully admit is was error. She did not have the correct First Aid course. I did have to enter all of her certifications for sign up and did list the first aid course, but when signing up and before the course started. I made the error and they didn't catch it. Either way my daughter was sent home, BUT when I asked about a refund I was told I was out of luck. For the $500 course I could only get $250 back. I didn't cancel at the last minute or any other disrespectful method. I was very apologetic and explained how I wanted to try to get her into another course as soon as possible - doing it with them would mean not until the end of the summer. Either way I was dismissed. The entire experience rubbed me the wrong way. They were so indifferent.
