When I picked her up to pet her, I realized she had a huge gash under her belly that was infected. I called multiple rescues before finding All About Cats. The woman that I spoke to on the phone was extremely caring and you could tell that she wanted to help as much as possible. She gave me an appointment within two days and did everything possible to get this cat healthy for an extremely reasonable price. I've now have the cat with me for over a year thanks to their help!

The application is pretty standard for pet adoptions, in my opinion. Personal references, Vet references (if you've owned previous animals), do you work or perhaps are retired? These along with other basic questions so the Adoption department can try and match you with an animal whose temperament fits your lifestyle. Of course they cannot guarantee certain things but, I feel their efforts are done in good faith. After speaking with a very personable Adoption specialist named David S, we set up a meet and greet. The team thought Sparky may be a good fit for our family. We hit the jackpot and Sparky thought we were perfect for him as well!! He was given up to date shots and given a clean bill of health. We signed the required documents, paid a reasonable fee (s) and took him to his new forever home! We were treated kindly by each employee/volunteer we interacted with. We thank them for the important work they do. Please consider adoption when looking for a fur baby. Please consider TOH. I'm sure your experience will be as wonderful as ours was.

One of the most comforting thing about adopting from Ladew is knowing that they quarantine and check for things other shelters do not, such as ringworm. I had an experience in the past where the cats I took home had ringworm and the shelter didn't even know. Ladew is the exact opposite: they take every precaution and ensure a safe, smooth landing. Not only do they have a great regular adoption program, but their senior for seniors program is inspiring. They cover the medical costs of senior cats that are adopted by senior adults. I think every senior should have a senior cat at home, and with the biggest expense covered it's a no-brainer. All in all, I love the Ladew Foundation's mission and highly recommend them!

After being recommended to Little Shelter by Cove Animal Rescue, we saw Hercules on their website and drove about an hour to see him. We fell in LOVE with him. Lorie was the sweetest and brought Hercules to meet us outside in their cute meeting areas and was very upfront about everything they do at the shelter. We came back the following day and brought our sweet baby home with us. It was such an easy process to go through and we are so beyond happy. My mom loves Hercules to the moon and back! By separating out the non-serious applicants and the scammers who don't want to pay it, they can be much MORE responsive and effective in dealing with serious potential adopters! It's a good thing! It's not some money-making scam! Believe me, the team at Ollie's Angels pours their lives into animal rescue and gets nothing in return other than love and good vibes! There are one or two other negative reviews from applicants who weren't accepted for the dog they wanted because they didn't have the right home set up or family situation for that animal. Again, this is a strength of Ollie's, not a flaw! Some dogs are appropriate for apartments and some dogs aren't. Some are good for families, and some are better for single owners. It's a good thing that the team at Ollie's Angels works so hard to get their placements right. And 9 times out of 10, they do. After the first meeting with Beatriz, we were very comfortable with her taking care of our kitty and home. She is reliable, animal loving and flexible. Whenever we're away, she and her partner- that we haven't met, so I'm mainly referring to Beatriz - take great care of our kitty and home, we come back to clean litter boxe, watered plants, every package indoors, a house that is kept secure and a happy kitty. Often our trips are scheduled with very short notice and over holidays, and we have always heard from Beatriz : yes, we can do. We get daily/bidaily texts or emails, often with photos or even a video(!!), whether it's a weekend trip or a 10 -12 day trip. She'll let us know about the kitty, the weather, how things went and keep us at ease to do what we need to do elsewhere without having to worry about our preciuos kitty. Their pricing is fair and they will come extra when we were stranded on a trip, as the other reviewer mentioned, so their main concern is for the animal, which is the most important thing for a pet owner! I recommend Beatriz and partner whole heartily ! Just a note about location, my profile mentions that I'm from San Francisco, CA , but we are in Westbury, NY for almost a year now..
