Recently moved to the area and finding a salon that cuts teen boy hair has been a challenge. There are many great barbers but we are looking for a simpler haircut style. I had heard about this place a few times so I reached out to Sara and asked her if she could do what my 13 year old wanted. I made an appt and we went yesterday. She was great. Summary: found the stylist to be unprofessional in the end and she didn't seem to listen to anything I asked for. I never got an attitude, raised my voice or was rude about my disappointment but I was treated with disrespect and told "I don't have any more time for you." The hair wash was amazing, the blow dry was awful and I kept flinching from the heat that never seemed to be removed from my scalp, and disappointed in the style and stylists attitude. So I've attached 2 of the pics I took in with me to have my hair styled for a ball. I requested a wash/blow dry/down style. The stylist I booked was Jennifer C. The last 2 pictures attached are what I came home with. My hair is naturally wavy and very bouncy and voluminous after a wash. I told the stylist I wanted volume and big curls/waves and for the curl to go all the way up in order to build natural volume and texture. The hair wash was amazing (hence the 2 stars), but once the blow dry started everything went south. She blow dried my hair so straight and tight from my scalp down that I kept getting what felt like burned from the heat on my scalp. Once the styling started I gave my feedback when asked how I liked it each step of the way and each time I seemed to have to repeat/ volume and curl up. At the end of it all the stylist handed me the mirror and I told her that I just felt like it was super flat and straight. At this point she became obviously frustrated and told me that she didn't have time for me, she had another client waiting and didn't have any more time to spend on m or my hair. This was the first I had heard of someone waiting, but after she made a snide comment about "I guess you are disappointed again" in reference to me telling her the struggle I've had with finding a great salon. She was decent enough to offer no charge, but despite her rude attitude and demeanor I paid her for the wash and tipped the same amount for her time. As I was paying the client who was waiting asked if she was ok to which she replied very loudly, "no I'm really not." I was just very taken aback by her attitude in the end, because I never got an attitude, raised my voice, or even scowled about my hair. Even when she was rude, I didn't argue or tell her how unhappy I was about the style. Very unpleasant experience and I won't go back at this point, not even for another stylist. read more

I made an appt with this salon last week. I get a phone call on Saturday that I have to make a $50 deposit for my appointment today???!!! I have never heard of this before and last time I was in there in August I didn't have to do this. I made the payment. I go in for my appointment today and they had cancelled my appointment???!!! They said I had not made my deposit which I had. I asked if they could still do my hair. Answer was no. I never spoke with the stylist who was suppose to do my hair. I guess they must have found someone else who would pay more and that's why they cancelled me. The last time in August I paid about $175 plus a tip. I guess they don't need the money. I will never go back in there. If you want to pay a $50 or more for a deposit and not get the service go for it. I gave it a one rating since you couldn't give it a zero. DO NOT GO TO JESSICA!!!!! I went to get my hair done for prom, and it was an apt for a wash & style. The moment I went in there she refused to wash my hair even though that was what I wanted and was going to pay for. Then she showed me my hair and asked if that was what I wanted and I told her it was the complete opposite of the pictures I showed her and she LEFT! She stormed out with out even finishing my hair! Overall I was highly impressed with the outcome of my visit. I had to get a quick trim with my newborn in tow at the last min. Fortunately they were able to squeeze me in. So we have visited here in the past to get haircuts for my three boys and my husband. The ladies were very nice, but the haircuts were just okay. Because of the mediocre haircuts we had been reluctant to go back, but the location is convenient to our house and my husband was in deep need of a haircut. We decided to chance it. When he arrived there was a young boy getting his haircut, so there was a 15 minute wait. We put his name on the list and walked next door to browse a bit. When he returned the boy was finishing up, and the lady at the front told him that as soon as he was cleaned up my husband was next. Well, we sat down to wait, and then another gentlemen, who had just walked in and appeared to know some of the ladies in there, took his spot and my husband was skipped over. It's frustrating that we decided to give this place second chance, hoping for the best, and then this happens. The weekends at these places are already busy, and we always expect a wait, but we aren't going to wait around to get skipped over. We won't be back. read more

My family and I have gone to All About the Image for several years and have never had a poor experience. Receptionists and hairdressers are both really nice people. I really like being able to make an appointment online as close as the night before. Admittedly, I don't go for any major, complicated hairstyles, but I've never left unhappy. I called ahead and asked for a stylist that could do a "precision cut". The receptionist was helpful and thorough, even explaining that if I wanted a shampoo, cut and style the price would be different than just a cut, etc. I appreciate when salons are up-front with their pricing! When I arrived, I only waited a few minutes before being taken back by my stylist, Tasha. I had come prepared with a few pictures of the cut that I wanted and Tasha did a good style consult, even asking how much time I usually put into doing my hair, if I flat iron, and what products and color I use. Tasha was very friendly and upbeat. We had an easy and constant conversation. When Tasha was done, she asked if I liked the cut, and did some extra shaping on the back where I was concerned about the way it was laying. After I was satisfied, she even went so far as to say that if I still wanted it shorter after I washed it the next day, to just walk in and she would do it, no charge. Overall, great experience. Also, I really appreciate that they are kid friendly (both my boys get cuts here) and also offer a discounted cut for servicemen. Great place! read more

I've been visiting this salon now for more than a year, and Connie does a superb job every time. She also remembers those little personal tidbits you might talk about from one visit to the next. I'm disappointed that they no longer make appointments online, but I'm glad to see they are still there, despite a change of management. If you want a salon that takes their time with you and doesn't try to rush more and more people in all at the same time, then this is the place for you. I despise those places where they rush people through like cattle, where you lose that personal touch and get "over processed" cuz they were busy working on someone else's hair that took longer than they expected. Overall, a mediocre to bad experience. Walking up to the salon, I wasn't even sure it was open because of the odd layout and poor lighting. The receptionist and hairdresser were pleasant enough and easy to converse with. However, it became obvious that my hairdresser was not comfortable doing a bob cut as we discussed it. I had to urge her to continue cutting on three separate occasions. After closer inspection upon leaving the salon, I realized that one side of my hair was slightly longer than the other. Wendy worked with me getting the color "just right" - not easy with natural auburn hair, to be sure - and the color doesn't fade as reds tend to.
