first time going here I was recommended by a friend. I went a week earlier for a free consult to show the hairdresser Haley what my hair look like just so she would know what to do when I came in for my first visit. I had I had very blonde highlights and I wanted them toned to a golden blonde and root touchup. She said no problem.. She was talking to me in hairdresser language. She said I was a level 10 she was gonna pull me to a level 9 or 8.I left there with completely brown hair. I didn't ask for brown hair. I asked for golden blonde hair. they made me sign some paper just saying it was so they could treat me now I'm trying to get a refund because I didn't get anything. I wanted .even with going in a week early for a consult. They are extremely expensive and you sit across the table from other people not in the chair it's a very bizarre situation. I would not recommend the salon to anybody. I'm trying to get a refund but they say they don't offer and since I signed that paper they just want me to come in and have somebody else do my hair. I will never return to that salon to have anybody touch my hair. read more

Sydni Goodrow saved my bad hair days! I was about to give up on Exhale after a bad highlight (brassy, frizzy and dull and a re-do that was worse!). I tried Sydni this time. She listened well and came up with a plan and explained what went wrong in a tactful way (no one got thrown under the bus!). I highly recommend Sydni. I booked a cut and fashion color(purple) with Hallie. The cut is great and stylish, exactly what I was hoping for. The color is another story. I have had purple highlights before and loved them. The color that I ended up with is lavender and has already faded to barely noticeable after about 3 washes, less than a month of color. Hallie said the color would fade but I was expecting more than 3 weeks of color. In the past It has lasted 3-4 months. So now I am left with brassy, bleached spots in my hair. read more

This Salon is extremely expensive for just a cut and root touch up. Have quit going because of the price and the new setup where you are sitting at a table looking at strangers across from you. No privacy. read more

I booked an appointment with becca and my hair turned out nothing like what I wanted. I just wanted highlights and lowlights and a trim. they turned out patchy and uneven, there was no dialogue with the stylist about if I liked it or if there were things I wanted to change, and she barely trimmed my hair so my ends still feel terrible. Omg I am so so so glad I found Exhale! Dani did an amazing job with my highlights and my cut. She explained the different things that we could do and walked me through the long term goals as well. I felt like I was in good hands, especially since I know nothing about what I should be doing or even what my vision was. She was super personable and it made the appointment way more enjoyable to know what we were doing while we were doing it. My only regret was not getting a picture of the salon - it's incredible!!! It's an open plan so you don't feel caged into a chair, but honestly I probably could have fallen asleep in any one of them because of how comfortable they were. Recently went to this salon for the first time after re-locating. I was happy with the cut and how attentive Sam was during my appt. When I got home though, I felt like the blonde was too warm for me and asked if I could get some lighter highlights put in. She was very understanding and did not charge me for additional highlights. I super appreciate the willingness to make sure I was happy with my hair, even after I had already paid. I love my hair and will be back! read more

This review has been a long time coming. My husband and I moved to Pinehurst a little over a year ago and have been building our "crew" so to speak. From hair to facials to contractors and everything in between, we have gone through the list of vendors. We've had great experiences, awful ones and then the ones that are just "eh". After trying many(10+) salons in the area, I found my cozy happy place at Exhale. From the owner Debby for hair painting to Kaitlin for my Brazilian Blowouts,each person who works there has their speciality that they are amazing at. What I love most about the salon and team is that Debby doesn't try to keep all of her knowledge to herself. She teaches each person who works there the techniques she has gained over the years. If you want a showy place to gossip, I can think of other salons. If you want great results and a really nice and personal experience, make sure you try them out. I have been getting Brazilian blowouts from the day they came out in Miami. Kaitlin hands down does a better and faster job than any person I have ever been to. read more

She is an excellent stylist. Shared the day with me during my stay and even applied alterations to the initial cut to ensure satisfaction was shared for a task well done.
