Went in the other day to buy an ETB for Destined Rivals. Should be $60 for an ETB, they're asking $90. They will whine about "bad distribution", yet when I first started going there they told me they have great relationships with the distributors. They're laughing all the way to the bank around the Pokemon hype. Easier to just go to another shop like Empire Game Center and get Pokemon product for actual retail price. Do better!

But if it goes down, they wont change their sticker price and are unwilling to accommodate. They would rather (maybe eventually) scam their own customers.

The layout is streamlined, clean, and incredibly well-organized, making it easy to browse whether you're hunting for back issues, the latest comics, Magic: The Gathering singles, or gaming supplies. While it may not have the same size as the Warren location, this shop holds its own with a focused selection and top-notch customer service. Every major purchase I've made from owner Greg Bartholomew has come from this very store, and the quality has always been outstanding. Most recently, I picked up a pristine copy of All-Star Comics featuring the first appearance of Power Girl. One major highlight is the adjacent gaming annex. Instead of cramming tables into the retail space, they've dedicated a separate area next door for gaming. In fact, I was Adam Sabol's first customer when he opened, and my dollar bill still hangs on the wall to this day. Tons of comics, and a nice selection of Funko Pops. But what really impressed me was their collection of action figures. I love collecting Pops and action Figures. And I could have easily dropped hundreds here. If I had planned ahead and brought more money, I probably would have. If you are an action figure collector, or a comic book collector, this is a great place for you to check out.

I called Comic Heaven before making the drive and asked how much a box of cards would cost. I was…read moretold $100 per box over the phone. After driving about 20 minutes to the store, the owner suddenly changed the price to $120 per box. When I mentioned that I had been quoted $100, I was told, "That's not my problem. The guy on the phone is new. It happens every day." If pricing mistakes like that really happen every day, it's hard to understand how the business continues to operate that way. Customers shouldn't be expected to waste time and gas because employees aren't given accurate pricing information. The experience was made worse by the rude attitude. During my phone call, the employee even told me what the store had paid for the boxes, and once I arrived, the owner gave a different explanation about the pricing. The whole interaction felt dishonest and unprofessional. On top of that, many of the cards and packs were already priced higher than other local stores and online retailers. Based on my experience, I won't be returning and can't recommend Comic Heaven to other collectors. Zero stars !

The new comics are displayed display well at the back of the store surrounded by the more recent books and then the nice selection of back issues. The area around the counter has the cool collectibles, some statues and other goodies. I like the old collectible comic related drinking glasses. Then you resurface into the shelving of Manga, graphic novels, toys and Funkos. Up front there are some display cases full of older collectible comics and a rack of t-shirts. Check out the pics. I was talking to one of the employees and they said that they have six local writers/artists/creators coming in for free comic book day this Saturday and John will have his convention stock broken out and set up. His convention stock is amazing for silver age and golden age and key comics ! We were downtown in Ohio City and after a visit to Pins, thought we would check out this game place…read moredown the street. It was a really a nice out of the ordinary date night outing. I'm glad I found it on Yelp. Now I have to check out the one in Columbus. Upon entering, a host greeted us and said he would find a table for us, and that they charge $5 per person. We stopped at the bar to order drinks, then were shown to a table. I found Yahtzee so we played that for awhile. They have sooo many board games and 2 rooms full of people at tables. A lot of the games were unknown to me. My bourbon cocktail was great, and my boyf had a draft beer. I went looking for another board game or two and someone asked me if I needed any assistance. I said we liked Yahtzee, but wanted to try something new. He said give me a few minutes and I'll bring some to you. He was so incredibly nice and sat with us to get us started on one of the games he brought. He was also very patient. He even offered to get us refills from the bar. Actually, the whole staff was really nice. I would love to come back during another Cleveland trip.

But obvi, The main reason to come here is for the games. You want cat games? They got purrfect choices! Pandas? Uh-huh that have it! Racoons? You bandit believe it! Wanna watch your friends meeples get eaten by sharks? You can hear with Survior Island! Parks and Trails? Have no fear... they got it here! Criminal games? Allegedly they have them ;) They have so many, that it was overwhelming to choose. Prices are fair, with about a $5 fee/gamer, with set times of 3 hours max typically. I'm sure if it was empty and if they didn't have other resi's or a waitlist, you could hang longer, especially if you have an extra $5 or something... Weekends, espeically in the winter, will be more crowded so be aware if others make you nervous. I personally get nervous about gaming when others are around. My brain shuts down and I loose critical thinking skills necessary to win. And winning is life. Onward, the food was meh. I ordered the cheese flatbread 'Za, hoping to channel my inner teenage mutant ninja turtle and smash my fellow turtle completion. But the pizza was bland. It was like pita with cheese on. I'd say, go somewhere else and get food, and go here for the games and dranks. The latte was delicious, and I actually ordered a second. It was just the extra sweetness & energy boost I needed to crush my competition. You already know I like to check out the restrooms. They had two gender neutral large accessible restrooms, from what I discovered on my exploration, and they were clean, with adequate lighting and finishes. Parking is scattered across the street, but there's the large westside market lot available. With Mitchell's Icecream (yes the train was working at this one last time I went), Ohio City Burrito, and a plethora of options, you can't go wrong! Now, back to the games - I will say, some of the games are very advanced and will require extensive set up and knowledge on how to play. If there's game you're interested in playing, and you have little knowledge, I recommend looking up the rules first and checking out tutorial vids. Otherwise, you'll waste a lot of time figuring out the logistics. If you wanna go from bored to board games, I recommend this place!
