This review is a bit strange but I want to give the technician props for professionalism. A couple days ago, we arranged for a garage door spring replacement. Later that evening, we cancelled. As it was after hours, I really emphasized with the chat service (on their website) that they should send both my contact info (address included) and the message as the technician was scheduled for late morning. They agreed. Somehow the message didn't get through and the technician showed up. They were extremely professional about it. We apologized profusely. I'm not sure if the chat service is contracted or part of their company so I remove one star for the communication glitch. Anyway, I'd recommend them based simply on the ease of appointment setup, clear explanation of the cost, and the technician's professionalism despite a disappointing service call. read more

Called the company on Wednesday to ask for help with a non-functional garage door. The tech came the next day, on time, and after spending about two hours was able to diagnose the problem. It was the result of a logic board failure, under warranty by another company. He advised contacting the other company and charged us only for the travel time to our house. This was unexpected and very professional. We will definitely call this company again for service. read more

My experience with All American Door is not as positive as the comments we had read before hiring them so I wanted to share my experience. I had an 8:00 AM slot, but the technician did not arrive until 9:25 AM. After looking at the door he thought it could be fixed by simply replacing the 2 cables and 10 rollers. The technician was on-site for a little over a half hour, including a bathroom break. Unfortunately, when I saw the breakdown of parts and labor on the bill, I saw there was an exorbitant markup on parts. The rollers and cables were each $229.95 putting my bill for parts alone over $450. I reached out to them to discuss this and six weeks and several phone calls later, I finally received a small reimbursement. I would not recommend this company. read more

My garage door ceased to function and I needed it taken care of before the upcoming snow storm. These guys were able to come out the next day and were flexible with time (a 2 hour window). The repairman was friendly, diagnosed the problem right away and was giving me options on what I can do in the first 5 minutes. I had him replace the gears in my older model opener. He had the gear and was tearing it apart in no time. The whole process took about 30 minutes. He even lubricated my rollers and spring, which is desperately needed. I would say the only downside is that they are a bit pricey. It was worth it though for the speed and professionalism I experienced. read more

Had a 9-11 a.m. Saturday appointment window, Jon called at 9:01 to say he'd be at my house in 15 minutes. Jon fixed the garage door quickly and perfectly. They lose a star for sticking one of their stickers on my garage wall without asking (I would have said, "yes," but I should have been asked). Also, I initially sent an estimate request through Yelp, but never got a response. Sending the request through the All American website, they called me back within a few minutes. read more

Refused to do the work requested unless I paid $500 to replace with all new parts. Had to throw the little guy off my property. Edit: I didn't ask the tech to "crank up" anything. I asked him just to reset the door since the problem only occurs when it's very cold and would work for the rest of the summer. Offered $100 for 5-10 minutes of work so I could pay them something for coming out. He preferred to hold out for the full $500. Edit #2: The first lie was about my asking the tech to "crank up" something. The second lie is about my stating that I would only spend $100. I had mistakenly thought that the service fee was $100 (it's actually $50) figured I could get the tech some money and get the garage door reset so it would work until the winter comes and the defect arises. I've received a follow up phone call by a manager who offered to inspect the garage himself. He was polite and willing to try and correct the issue (to his credit). I was unwilling to agree to this as I'm at the point where I don't trust them based on the experience today. This issue was concluded after the call. ...then the owner sends me a snarky remark on Yelp's messaging system which prompted the second edit. I suggest the owner follows the example of his manager who was actually patient and willing to work with me. We had a civil conversation that had concluded peacefully. Why the owner wants to chum the waters after the fact is baffling. read more

I had a 8-10am service window scheduled two days in advance for my broken garage door spring. They said they would call before they arrived. It is 10am and no call so I call and they say the tech should be calling me soon. 11am comes. No call. I end up talking to their scheduler and trying to schedule for today with another tech. She says she will get back to me. It is now 12:30 and she hadn't responded with a new time. I had to call another company. I am disappointed by their inability to reschedule and the fact that I had to continually contact them. read more

The receptionist at All-American Door called me the morning of the scheduled installation to inform me that the door I had special-ordered came in damaged (all of the windows were broken). They offered to swap it out with an in-stock door (with different windows) that could be installed on time, or I would need to wait two additional weeks for a replacement. I had put a deposit down so I could not cancel, but I needed the door in on schedule. I asked to be discounted the cost of the windows ($200) because I did not get the windows that I paid for. The receptionist told me that a manager would call me back about a discount as she could not authorize that. No one called me back. I asked the person who came to help the installer about a discount for not receiving the correct door, but he was only able to offer $50 off after calling the office. It took the installer SIX HOURS to install the door because he was brand new on the job, and did not know what he was doing. He had to call someone else to help him figure it out- and it was not a complex job. This was a very basic garage door/opener replacement. After installation, the garage door was not level, and he did not want to spend the time to level it so he told me to "stick a pool noodle down the base of the garage door to create a better seal with the concrete." I am very dissatisfied with the service from All American Door, and would encourage potential customers to work with a company who will deliver the product that was paid for, and train their technicians how to install garage doors properly. read more

Waited for my appointment Wednesday morning for no one to show up. After I called and was told there was a scheduling mistake made they offered to have someone come that night from 3-5. No one ever showed up and I wasted my entire day off waiting on no one to come. Left a message for the company after 5pm came and went and no one bothered to call Thursday. I'm not sure how they think customer service should go, but it's not that. read more

This company installed my garage door and opener. The service while being performed was great. However, less than a year later, the garage door was unable to close. I called and a technician came out that day, but mentioned no parts were damaged and tightened up a few items, all while initially charging me $140, but came down to $100 after I mentioned they did the install. Two days later, the garage door again broke and was unable to be closed. This now, being the second day I have to leave my garage door open during the day/night with all of my valuables able to be taken (let alone, access to my backyard and house). When calling, they were unable to use their "emergency 24/7 service" without charging a fee, even though, they came two days before and guaranteed their service for a measly 90 days. I am currently sitting with an open invitation to my house, family and valuables, as my garage door cannot close and they will not come out until the next day while the wife and I are at work, as apparently, their service warranty does not cover emergency hours. I highly suggest using another company, who is willing to honor their service and take care of their customers, while this company obviously will not. Their fees are equivalent to others, and I would imagine, the other companies would honor the work they perform. read more

All American garage door service people and staff were amazing. Having a terrible experience with GDC it was nice to have someone who is knowledgeable and repaired my door. Last time I had my door worked on by GDC I had a horrible experience. He also pointed out certain things that were installed incorrectly by the previous garage door company. Had a large service bay door spring break on us at work and All American was able to come out that day and gave us a free estimate. The technicians were very polite and knowledgable, plus gave us a quote that was spot on with the final price. The spring we needed wasn't readily available but they managed to get one later that day and even came at 7pm that evening to install it so we could lock up the facility. If any of our other service bays have any problems it reassuring to know we can count on All American to give us excellent service. read more

Our garage door suddenly stopped working and after calling this company, which seemed to be highly rated on yelp, i was extremely disappointed. I called the number listed on the website and there was no answer. I let it ring a few times, thinking their voice mail pick up and i could leave a message for a call back. The voice mail never picked up so I tried a second number listed on the website; a gentleman answered and immediately started yelling at me that he was upset that i had "called him many so many times". I thought maybe I had misdialed someone's residence, and asked if i had reached the All American Door Company. The gentleman just yelled back "Yes! What to you want, and why do you keep calling me? I was on the other line." I explained to him this is only the second time I've ever called his company, and the first time there was no answer. He just again yelled, "What do you want?" very loudly at me. At that point I hung up and went with another service company. I don't think calling a company twice, when there was no answer or voice-mail left on the first call, is out of line as a customer. Clearly did not want my business. Extremely rude customer service and would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

This place is a joke. They charge $300 additional for resetting and rebalancing garage doors which is normally included in the service fee price if you went elsewhere in the area. They reel you in by saying if you are an existing customer the service fee is free. Bottom line they tried to charge $700 for realigned the garage door and replacing tracks/rollers. I called around to other places and they charge $250. 10 mins later I asked them to stop the work because I figured out they were trying to rip me off and asked if they would match prices they said no and if they stopped I would owe $350. The assistant manager is awful too! I highly recommend the garage door doctor or action overhead door. They are very honest and trusting. read more

Waited and waited, no one ever showed up, no one ever called. I called the office twice during this time and got only an answering machine. Left two messages, no one has ever returned my calls. If I could give no stars I would. In October 2014 I purchased a new garage door and new motor from All American Garage Door. Shortly after purchase the garage door would shake and was very loud when it opened, in addition to one light in the motor flickering. When we called them for help they sent someone to look at it. They fixed the door claiming the install was done by someone new and inexperienced. When we asked about motor light they claimed light had gotten loose because of door shaking. It too appeared fixed. A few months later the motor light on one side went out completely and a new light bulb did not fix it. We tried calling company but did not get return call so we figured we could live with one less light. Last week our garage door stopped closing. I downloaded manual off internet and followed instructions to make sure sensors were working properly but still the garage door will not function correctly. When my husband called company for help since we are still under warranty their response was "it's the sensors, go on youtube and look for instructions how to fix." The error code points to sensor "wiring" but according to manual all seems to be functioning (lights are on and correct color). Now I am forced to call another company to come fix the problem. We do not want to make things worse by pulling out wires or messing with the insides of the motor, especially when visually it appears sensors are fine so we reached out for help from the company that we paid good money to for the door and motor 11 months ago and their response was "go to youtube." Well, I went to YouTube and several, including one by AdamDIY, says we have a bad or malfunctioning sensor based on the issues we are seeing. A bad sensor after only 11 months should be covered by warranty!! Will never recommend or use this company again!! read more

They replace my garage door and reattached the garage door opener. The I am happy the technicians work and the repairs seems sound. The main concern I have is with the rude attitude and tone of voice of the man who answered their office phone today. When the technician came to the house to give an estimate of the repair cost he didn't give us a written estimate. When I called to schedule the work the office seemed to have access to the estimate reviewing the work and estimated cost. I explained I needed an invoice but could get it when the repairs where completed. The person at the office said that would be no problem. On the date the repairs where scheduled the technician called to say he was running late. I reminded him I needed an invoice. I was not going to be home when he was done so asked that he leave an invoice in the garage. I told him I would call the office the following day to make payment. I reviewed with him the repairs I was expecting and estimated cost of repairs. He agreed this is what he was planning on doing and what the cost was going to be. Later he left me a voicemail message saying he had the wrong size door panel so I would need call their office in the morning to reschedule the repair. When I called the office the next day a pleasant women apologized for the inconvenience and scheduled the repairs for the following afternoon. The next day the technician left a message saying he was on his way and later that evening saying the work was completed. I inspected the repairs this morning but didn't find an invoice. I called the office asking saying I had worked completed yesterday but wasn't given an invoice. The man who answered the phone said they don't issue a second invoice and that the invoice from the estimate is the only one they provide. I explained I didn't get a written invoice with the estimate. The man said "I am not going to argue with you". He then suggested I call a phone number to get it. The phone number was for the repair technician. The technician said I should look at the invoice for the estimate. I explained I didn't get a written estimate. He was very polite saying he would come to my house when he was done with work to give me the written estimate and collect payment. The cost of the repair was reasonable, repair technician was professional and work seems good but who needs a rude attitude. If I would have had to deal with this rude person or attitude earlier in my interactions with this company I definitely would not have continued working with them. read more

I was extremely impressed with how quickly this company responded to my appointment request and their speedy availability to come out the next morning. I did feel their pricing is sneaky. I had previously asked the cost to have a technician come out and figure out what was wrong with our garage door. I was quoted $49. I thought great, very affordable. When Nick came out, he was efficient and friendly. He look at the garage opener, turned up the power, and said that was our issue as our opener was aging. I thanked him and he offered to look around and make sure everything else was in working order. This took him about 5 minutes. When he had the bill for me, it was about $139 with the additional pricing for labor. When I requested a quote initially this cost should have absolutely been included. Nick said he would waive it if we installed a new opener with him the same day, so we did. Finally, it would have been courteous for either Nick to install light bulbs into the garage opener or at least tell us we needed to purchase them. My spouse and I spent ample time trying to figure out how to turn the lights on, get up on a ladder, and determine there were no bulbs in place. With the dark mornings and dark evenings in the winter this was not ideal to not figure out until it was pitch black. read more
