They use a third party insurance company that gives you a pittance of the value based on their estimate of weight. The movers damaged or lost over $3000 depreciated value of goods and the insurance company gave me $138 in claims. HOWEVER I have to pay $25 to have the claim resolution notarized AND they make me sign a legal document saying I won't post any reviews or post anything on social media. Update. First, they failed to pay the premium on their insurance so the insurance company contacted us to say they would no longer be working this claim. Then because of a google review (opinion only) the insurance was reinstated and they were now processing our claim again. BEWARE!!! You will not receive all of your belongings, and the belongings that you do receive will be badly damaged. I moved from Arkansas to Illinois. This moving company would not give me an estimated delivery date outside of a ten day window. Throughout these ten days of waiting, I contacted the moving company constantly, however, each time I got the same response, "Ma'am, the contract you signed stated we have up to ten business days to deliver. We do not know where your things are." Alright, I understand I signed the contract, but the salesman stated that it would take only three business days. I was sleeping on an air mattress for a week. When my things were delivered, I was missing boxes and a piece of art. My chest of drawers was splintered on the side (badly splintered as though someone had taken an ax to the corner, and two other pieces of furniture were scratched. Also, they left someone else's boxes at my place, which I reported, but they never came to get them! Just now, I received an email from the company who handled All American Movers' claims. One word: Garbage This was my worst experience as a consumer period. From end to end my experience has been horrible. The way this company works for long distance moves is nothing short of a scam. They also go by National Van Lines, LLC and answer the phone as "The moving company" which reeks of a scam. You give them an inventory list and it doesn't matter. They'll send a smaller truck with someone else's stuff in it and charge you 50% more than was quoted after they have all of your stuff in the truck with the excuse that all of it didn't fit. Then the delivery. The crew was an unprofessional joke. Our stuff was tossed all around the truck and was intermingled with another customers stuff. Our $4000 latex mattress with mattress topper that was plastic wrapped when loaded, was unwrapped and had stains all over it. Lamps were bent and missing their shades. Couches were ripped. China and stemware was broken. Pictures smashed. I could go on. I could have hired a troop of chimpanzees to move my stuff and would have the same result. I filed an "insurance" claim and got a whopping $70 dollars. I had to throw away a $4000 mattress that they soiled an I got $70 back. These guys are a scam. Word of advice, avoid these people for long distance moves. There's a reason they will only accept, cash a money order or Zelle as payment. They lie on the contract and say they take credit cards but do the bait and switch when your stuff is loaded. I learned an expensive lesson going with these guys and I got three different quotes and these guys were the only ones with an actual website that were in my price range. Go with the reputable local people that comes to your place and take inventory. They're expensive for a reason. I tried to save money and in the end after the 50% "hostage negotiation" markup and new mattress, I paid more than going with the reputable moving company. All American Movers is a stupid tax that I had to pay. If you're reading this now, you're doing your due diligence. Stop reading and please move on. If 1 are going to use this company here is my check list for you : 1. Make sure you double.. Even triple check your moving inventory list. Every picture, every throw pillow, every blanket, every box. Leave nothing out no matter how mundane. Even though I had the big, major items listed some got left behind because there was no room on the truck. 2. Plan on spending almost double your quoted price. 3. Don't expect a call until the last minute. Ours came 3 hours before pick up time. Delivery day they called at noon stating truck trouble. Hey it happens but then said they wouldn't get there till 6pm. By then I already burned a personal day. They did make it by 4 though. 4. The pick up guys and delivery guys are not the same people. 5.Read your contract carefully. On delivery day they will want half the money up front and rest upon delivery. They only deal in cash or a Postal Money Order. Sure they'll do a check by phone for your deposit but not delivery. Self yourself the stress, anxiety and headache. 5. They work fast and hard and are polite enough. 6. They did do me the courtesy of delivering things to our storage unit and our home. I checked google and found this place. I called and was on the phone for almost Thirty minutes discussing what I needed moved. We set up a time for the morning and we got started. One of my best friends was moving back to Florida and asked me for help. After doing a bit of research, we came across All American Movers. From the moment we initially spoke to the second they loaded [and unloaded] the truck, everything was perfect. What stuck out to me the most was how efficient they were along with how careful they were in wrapping and moving the furniture to make sure there wasn't any damage done in the process. We all know how tedious moving can be, but AAM really makes it so easy, they're worth every penny! I've had a great experience from the initial cost estimate to the pick-up of our goods at our home yesterday. The movers arrived at our home on time and were very courteous. They worked tirelessly to make sure all of our furniture was well-wrapped/padded. They carefully packed the truck and managed to get all our stuff on the truck even though I had my doubts it could all fit. The customer service has been very responsive to our questions and was very helpful when we had to make changes for a move date. DO NOT use this company. They underbid for a reason. We still haven't received our belongings and they have had our things since June 27th. They don't tell you several things on the phone, but will once they have your belongings: - For moves up to 2400 miles they have 2-21 days to deliver and will say they legally have 30 days. No one who hires a mover expects this and assumes that a mover who tells you they are direct movers will get your things there promptly. - They will hand you off to many different people who will all tell you something different. So far I've talked to Liz, Mike, Alex, David, Jen, Ellie and James. Each person blames to the other person for giving us the wrong delivery date. In two days of calling we have been told between July 12-19 and then to be told that they don't know why that person told us that because All American Movers doesn't guarantee delivery! - I was told today by Ellie that they work on a schedule. Then Ellie tells me that they don't guarantee a delivery date yet they have a schedule?! How can you abide by a schedule, but be unable to give me a delivery date?!! - On June 26th a small box truck pulled up at 3:30 pm with no markings and two men. We have a 5 bedroom home and only 2 guys?! The driver walked the house and looked at everything. I asked him if all was good and he said yes and they started loading our things. They asked for our next deposit money in cash which I gave them. I asked for a receipt and never got one. Since they arrived late they had to come back the next day. The following morning I got a call from Alex stating we had way over the amount quoted and our fee went for $5288 to $13553!!!! Attempting to negotiate all day they told me I would either lose the $3495 we had already paid or pay the amount owed they just came up with. They already had half of our belongings somewhere. They finished loading around 11pm. Here's the catch, they cannot demand more money by federal law after they have started the job. They are in violation of federal law for demanding more money after having loaded your belongings. They can only do a revised/rescission estimate BEFORE loading your goods. If they load and then try to revise they have to bill via deferment 30 days afterwards. - The movers who showed up worked for National Express Van Lines according to there paperwork. I told this to Ellie today and she said that they have workers who work for many companies and didn't have the proper paperwork on hand. She then said "when they arrive with your things we will change the paperwork to ours". WHAT?!!!! - I have asked many times to know where our things are right now. 2 days ago they told us in an undisclosed warehouse in Georgia. I asked Ellie today and she said in a warehouse in South Carolina. I told her about what James said about Georgia and she put me on hold for 30 seconds, came back and said yes in Georgia now and that she is looking at her warehouse security footage and can see our things because she told me the address on them. I'm not an idiot Ellie, you're reading the paper with my info and not looking at a camera that you said you had zoomed in on our things. I asked her for a screenshot and she told me she can't do that and can't even let the police see the footage! They have STOLEN our belongings plain and simple and the $7500 I've paid out so far. This is a criminal in my eyes. - The list goes on and on. Extremely unprofessional and we are the ones having to contact them for any information. Their Contract states "Expert advice and guidance throughout the course of your move". BS. Not 1 phone call from them about our things. DO NOT use this company. I have opened a case with the FMCSA. Terrible experience. Movers showed up a full week later than promised. I would call the office and would be passed around from employee to employee. I dealt with Mike when setting up the move. He gave me a poor estimate on both the cost (ended up being $700 more, but I wasn't given the new quote until my belongings were on the truck so I had no choice but to pay it) and the delivery time frame. Part 3 of 3 Stuff has arrived, 32 days after pickup. Damages: 1. 2 missing boxes out of 50. Never made it on the truck. 2. 1 destroyed new marble end table. There is $450. 3. 1 bronze cast coat rack. $150. 4. Bunch of banged up stuff, livable. 5. Wall damages, expected. 6. Confidence in an industry. Gone. Driver arrived at 2, not enough help, was gone around 7, with me helping. Nothing reassembled. Decent guys, no relationship to the people we hired, just a brokered driver. Seems pick-up driver was brokered. Top secret storage facility in Chicago was brokered. It is a total racket, all subprime. So, lessons learned to share. Salesperson, Claudia quoted based on 1000 cubic feet, give or take a few, I even called and added some boxes and "cubes". Pick-up driver Louis, tried to get me to sign off that he was picking up over 1400 cubic feet, I refused. Dispatch guy, Alex, insisted that it was 1400 and I settled on paying them extra for 1200 at $4.5 per. They had my stuff ransomed and refused to tell me where it was. Driver delivering stuff said it he contracted and picked up 900 or some "cubes". Lessons for using a broker, if you have the heart and stomach for it: We will not, ever again, we will use PODs or U-Haul, and drive ourselves. 1. Make them physically inspect your shipment and quote based on actual inventory. 2. When they pick up, make sure driver signs off on load size and all extras, BEFORE he touches your stuff. Be willing to send him down the road empty if you cannot agree. 3. No renegotiations after it's loaded. Just say no. Let them offload and drive away. Only sign the order and contract you originally agreed upon. Do not be intimidated. 4. Make sure you know who is picking up your stuff and take pics of stuff before loaded and after, and license plate of truck. Make sure you know exactly where it is going. 5. Never ever pay more than 50% of order before you receive it. Never ever. Never under any circumstances. 6. They are going to refuse to offload at the destination until they are all paid. Make sure you inspect the load against the original inventory list, BEFORE you pay, even if they have to move stuff around to show you. Because remember, your stuff isn't the only stuff on that truck. 7. Get everyone's last name. Everyone you talk to. If they don't want to give it to you, move on. More I am sure, there will be an epilogue. read more

If you are reading reviews on All American Movers hopefully you haven't made the mistake of choosing them. This is the worst most unethical business I have dealt with. They SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS!Unfortunately, I can say from my experience that everything I have seen in the negative reviews is true and obviously not a one time event with All American Movers. There really is no point in even getting an estimate with them. Their M.O. is to low ball you on the estimate to get your deposit knowing they are going to stick it to you when they pick up your items. Note all payments have to be made in methods that can't be cancelled or disputed for obvious reasons. When they arrive and they will initially want 3 to 4 times more than the original estimate knowing your options are limited at that point. Worst decision I have ever made was not going with a different mover at that point and giving up the deposit/booking fee. However, I had to be out of my house to close on it the next day. I never imagined I would end up with thousands of dollars worth of stolen items and damaged furniture. I use "stolen" because they were obviously selective on what items were taken and they never once mentioned or tried to locate them. Filing a claim with them is a nightmare. First they'll claim they never received it then they will ignore emails and phone calls. They must have a pretty long list of phone numbers to ignore. I tried calling several times with not answer and called with another number and got an immediate answer with even more lies when I inquired on the status. The list goes on as others have mentioned and I find it hard to believe anyone has truly had a positive experience with All American Movers. In the end I would have been better off placing my items curbside and having the garbage man throw them in the truck, drive cross-country, and dump them in the front yard of my new house! We scheduled a 2 day window for movers to pick up belongings, but they never showed. When I called in, I was placed on hold for 1.5hrs while the service rep tried to get a hold of dispatch. All American Movers from Dayton, Ohio moved my furniture from Columbus, Ohio to Wesley Chapel, Florida in late January, 2020. When my furniture finally arrived, there was a crew of two, one man and a tiny woman. None of the furniture for the two bedrooms was wrapped in moving blankets, as per their contract. Each oiece of my bedroom furniture sustained severe damage. I filed my claim with their claims company on March 9, 2020 and as of July 21, 2020, my claim still has not been processed. For those that do not do the research this is NOT an actual moving company!!!! They are whats known as brokers, they do nothing more than facilitate the initial process of moving and get anywhere upwards of $1000 to just get you to book with them. They then hire out someone else to perform your move with no recourse. If 1 item is different from the estimate they originally gave on the inventory then they can triple your charges because they will say it was a non-binding estimate. Brokers are helping to destroy the moving industry by charging by the cubic feet and not actually having a certified and published tariff!!! This is a quick way for these types of companies to scam honest customers by saying we can give you a deal. This company is also not located at 140 S Keowee St in Dayton as this building is up for sale, I drove by it today!!!!! They are actually out of New York and don't care what happens to your Items. If i could give it a 0 star review i would in a heart beat because they are liars out of the gate by starting with their address. These SCAM ARTISTS only care about that initial signature because once they get that, they get their "Admin Fee" and then pass your items off to guys that might be in u-haul trucks or plain vehicles. Honest Carriers will have a tariff you can lookup online and give you full breakdowns of what it costs to move. They also provide you with a pickup and delivery spread as there is never a guaranteed delivery date because trucks break down and other environmental factors. The sad part is that they pay to jump up in ranking on sites like this because their rep doesn't know anything truly about the moving industry or they would not have allowed them to pay for a premium package. Real Moving Companies are places like, Allied Van Lines (Carrier), American Way Van & Storage Inc. (Carrier), Wheaton Van Lines (Carrier) and Greater Dayton Moving & Storage (Carrier). These companies have been in business for more than 30 years and can be traced back by their Tariff that can be requested, which will show actual rates and not cubic feet for a price. If you are using a company in Ohio and want to verify they are trusted ask them for their PUCO # as all Motor Carriers in Ohio have to carry this as well as for a copy of their tariff. read more

My coworker of a few years ago had moved from New York to Ohio two years ago and recommend this moving company. She said they were amazing and super professional. I contacted them and everything was seamless. From the consultation, to setting up my grandmothers request, to the actual moving day. It was a seamless transition and she was very pleased with everything. CRIMINALS!!!! Literally the worst experience and hardship we have ever faced!!!! Our original quote was $2500.00. Our things were picked up and moved into their storage, the agreement was they would move our things from Denver to Texas, but store for 2 weeks prior to moving it to Texas. They called us a day after picking up our things and claimed we had more "items" than quoted and if we ever wanted our things back we would need to pay them a total of $4,000.00!!!!!! It was a total shock, I had my grandfathers ashes among the things they took from us and was desperate to get it back! We were moving to Texas for a better life, we could not afford to live In Colorado and now they were extorting us!!!! We received their itemized "report" and they had itemized every chair leg of our table and every bag they charged us to place it in one of theirs and charged us for it?!?!? They also added a $1,000.00 "admin fee" that wasn't on the initial contract amount that we had signed! When we asked them what it was the representative yelled at us and said it is what it is!!! Along with an extra 935.00 fuel surge charge.... We then asked them to just move it to a storage unit in Denver so we would afford to have our things returned. They told us there would be NO PRICE REDUCTION!!! How is that even possible?!?!? We were not having them travel to Texas so why the $935.00 fuel charge on top of the travel fee?? They could not give us a straight answer and just kept saying if we wanted to SEE OUR THINGS AGAIN they needed payment in full, the whole I agreed upon $4000.00 oh but if we didn't report them to the BBB they would take off $300.00. AND paid with a cashiers check OR cash ONLY!!! CROOKS!!!!! We tried to reach a manager, this representative April was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! And RUDE!!! I explained to her that I had been furloughed as well as my husband, we just found out we are expecting a baby and are both out of work, so could they please take off the extra charges?!? We are asking them to move it 5 miles down the road not 1600.00 miles anymore...She refused and kept pushing us to give them more money to store our things with them, instead of the storage unit we picked!!! Why would we trust them with our things any further?!? At this point they said they would call us back after a week of trying to call them with no calls back to us and no communication, I was sure they sold our things off and they were not a legitimate business. We DO NOT recommend this company based on the following: Delivery Time: We were told to expect our items in 10 days. It took them 31 days to deliver! Damaged Items: Our possession were not properly padded or secured. Additionally, the items were placed without consideration to weight. On arrival, our boxes were strewn throughout the truck. (See photo) As a result, we had 24 items that were damaged including a chair broken in 2 pieces, mattress ripped, a vanity crushed into pieces, furniture gouged and numerous glassware shattered. This is the absolute worst moving company ever!!! We paid for full packing and moving. When they finally arrived, albeit late, it was two guys in a rental truck for a 2500 sq ft home. After "packing" for 30 minutes they said they had to go get more packing materials and asked to borrow my truck; which I promptly denied. They returned and continued packing for another hour or so before there was a knock on my door. It was an individual whom the job foreman had hired via craigslist to help pack and load; he subsequently hired two additional people through craigslist. We saw one of the craigslist hires sliding our new entertainment center across our concrete patio. When we raised this issue to the foreman he replied, "Don't worry, you can rub shoe polish on it to fix it." Once they finished "packing" and loading the truck the foreman informed me that the price had increased by 50% of the quoted price because it took more space than expected. This after him previously stating, we have plenty of room on the truck so I'm not going to disassemble everything to make off loading easier. Thinking the worst was behind us we headed to our destination; however, the nightmare had just begun. When they started unloading the truck we realized how bad it was going to be. They had taped a piece of cardboard over the screen of our flat screen TVs, no bubble wrap nor furniture pad; then leaned the TV screen down on other furniture for the trip. Two of our TVs now have completely shattered screens. They scratched or damaged every single piece of wood furniture that we own. To make it worse, despite the company's claim to disassemble and reassemble all wood furniture; they lost the assembly hardware for both of our children's beds and they are still sleeping on mattresses on the floor a week later. I can't understand how this company is even in business and wish someone had left a review to warn me before this nightmare began. A tale of two cities! The best and worst of moves. but mostly the very worst of moves and actually one of the worst experiences of my life (that did not involve a death or hospital visit -I have actually been in car crashes that were more pleasant. Car crashes often bring out the best in people as they try to help and render aid. However the mover who pick up my things was perhaps the worst person on earth). First they were 10 hours late arriving at 8 pm/dark. I was OK with that -traffic in Atlanta can be a beast. I had all small boxes packed on the driveway to help speed up the move. They showed up in a huge empty used yellow truck with another moving company emblem painted over - yet still visible. He and two younger guys started to put stuff quickly on the truck. They got half way through and said i had too much stuff. The empty 25 foot truck had 4 ft deep of my stuff; I measured it with a tape measure. The mover guy came up with a new price of three times the quote. I said that was too much and to cancel the move. He then said i had to pay 1500 cash to unload the truck. I don't have that kind cash. So he said he was going to drive away with my stuff until I paid and approached me in threatening manner - he actually charged at me in my driveway. So i called the police! Really figuring he was going to steal my stuff or hit me I called 911. The police came, were nice but said that since he loaded my stuff, i had to pay him for the service or it was"theft of service" Yes this mafia style moving guy knew what he was doing! so I managed to get the price down to only double the quote as he called his manager and both called me insulting names. He insisted on a check (despite the fact that the quote said i could pay by credit card) Feeling trapped and in the middle of Joe P. Good-fellows Mafia style take over of my life, i wrote him the check and the cops left. it's now 1 am. The mover guy said they would finish the move. I went to talk to my wife who was upset and hanging out with our pup in the backyard and i turned around and saw the moving truck was leaving with one third of out stuff left in house! They got the check and left! So my wife had to sell the rest of our furniture and possessions online which delayed our move to her new job by three days. I i left a small truckload of stuff in my old garage which I had to drive back a few weeks later - 20 hours round trip in rental van - to pick up. Also the head mover guy complained that I was keeping him from his wife and kid. Really! I used to be in the Navy on a submarine, so don't complain about family separation to me! Oh poor baby, you choose this job and now it's somehow my fault that when you rip me off and verbally/physically threatened me, it delays your trip by a couple of hours! "Honey, daddy's home. Sorry i'm late, I had to screw over this nice couple first" Worst worst worst experience ever. A week later, two different guys named Ernest and Jessie delivered my stuff. They were the best. Earnest apologized for the other guys, unloaded my stuff quickly, blessed my wife and me and our new life in our new home. I tipped each 100$ ...best experience ever. This is the worst moving company ever. All my stuff damaged and one stool missing. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!

NEVER USE THEM, ALL LIES, TOTAL SCAM. WISH I COULD PUT ZERO!! Horrible, rude, fraudulent, lazy, greedy company and workers! Made contract agreement with estimated charge of $4,500, after providing a very detailed inventory, that at most underestimated 2-3 boxes, with all furniture included. Price raised by 125% after what was able to fit of our possessions was loaded to the truck, then ultimately after further issues of fraud. Moving truck too small and no second truck sent which was promised in original agreement if this happens, especially when our inventory list was accurate to within a few boxes,truck not their company as promised but said Allied National, with hole in door noted to be covered by cardboard to keep items dry.Possessions left behind-patio table, end tables, lamps, child's toy kitchen, other multiple bins. We specifically asked Erica how much to put for down payment many times, were told none necessary, we would have to pay 40% up front. Had certified check made for 40% of the initial agreed-upon price. After items were loaded to the truck, they requested 60% of the increased price, stating we were supposed to have put a down payment, and since we didn't they need said down payment & 40% of the new estimated price. Contract agreement for a direct trip; our items would never be on a shared flatbed, instead they would pick up items &drop them off. After items were loaded, were told they would move them to a flatbed & the earliest possible date of deliver would be specific date, and we could have to wait up to 30 days from that date. In order to get the direct trip, had to pay an extra $2000 to accommodate them not using the larger flatbed truck. Many of the conversations involving the increase in price were discussed with Alex, who we were told is supervisor there. He was rude enough to insinuate we didn't have the money to make the trip, said we are ignorant, brought us to tears with his harsh words, he was overall unpleasant and difficult to deal with. At some point he implied that they needed the money up front to pay for the trip, but when I questioned that he backpedaled to say I was insinuating things he never said. He refused to speak to me, noting a supervisor named John would call me. When John did, he basically said there was nothing he can do, as Alex is above him. When I asked to speak to a person above Alex, I was laughed at, told that would only be the owner or president who "does not deal with customers" How can they be allowed to speak to customers in this way? THEY WON'T BE IF NO ONE USES THEM ANYMORE!! We were promised 3 workers to load our furniture in Chicago, and the same 3 would unload in Florida. They were also responsible for taking apart and putting back together furniture. 2 of the 3 workers arrived in Florida, and they never had a third person. I witnessed may issues where they were poorly stacking our furniture. At some point a small filing cabinet was literally thrown into the moving truck, and I saw the wheels snap from it. Many of the furniture items were put together poorly, with screws that were stripped, and I had to correct all of it after the fact. There was also an entire desk that they left in pieces, and I hadn't gone in to the room that it was in to notice it before the movers had left. My mother hired Gateway express LLC Florida to move my possessions from Mississippi to South Carolina 3 to 5 days delivery was promised Gateway, hired All American movers from Dayton Ohio to do the actual move, pick up was scheduled for September 25 but all American movers did not arrive until 8:30 PM on September 27 the furniture was not prepared in a professional manner as contracted for the move after many unanswered calls and emails about delivery it was achieved by a different moving crew on October 16 unfortunately every single piece of my mother's furniture was damaged several pieces were missing including my washer and dryer a large desk bed-frame boxspring and several other smaller pieces read more

This is possibly the most dishonest company I have ever worked with. Moved from South Bend, Indiana to Ft Myers Beach, Florida. The added $1000 in needed packaging to my bill and then rewrote the contract I had through a broker and doubled the price from $4000 to $8000. They broke about $1000 worth of possessions for which I received $50. They gave me nothing but grief and trying to deal with the movers or the office was impossible. read more

I sent pictures of my items to move and he gave me a quote. 2 Days before my move Mike called me to tell me that the move was going to cost a lit more. That I had more stuff that anticipated. Next came the move. While loading, Boris, eh lead mover, told me that it was going up in price even higher! Then they ca,e to deliver with no movers other than the driver. I sent him away and he came back the next day with 2 drivers he found on craigslist. My stuff is everywhere as they were not professionals. IF AND WHEN I get the delivery, I will make sure I have law enforcement here on site. This is the worst company ever!!!! Stay away and do not and i mean DO NOT use them. They picked up the furniture etc .. and charged me an additional $1500, this is costing me over $4000 to move from ark to Texas. James keeps giving me the runaround on when they will delivery my belongings. They are paid in full and every time I call the driver, I am given one excuse after another. The female cuban driver is blaming James. If you ever want to see your belongings again, DO NOT USE THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. i was never told that they have per contract 7-14 days, not including holidays, to deliver. I was never told his information by RYAN until after i booked the appt. I would have never used them if i knew it was going to take this long. I would have gladly pay more to have my delivery done straight to my location. I have yet to get my belongings. Was told this morning it will be another 48 hours. IF AND WHEN they arrive, I will go over the check list to make sure everything is there WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT ON SITE. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY! I hired All American Movers to move my things and the 2 month nightmare that ensued is almost unbelievable. I was given this estimate and from there, the lies, holding my belongings hostage, lies, rudeness and did I mention lies began. The 2 movers showed up and at their own discretion, without consulting me brought in their own bubble wrap (ignoring the giant roll I had), boxes and shrink wrap (on top of the other supplies they brought in). They also felt they were "not comfortable stacking our boxes more than 2 high" (actual quote) and this added to the cubic footage. They then had me sign all of the forms on the estimate and other forms that had nothing filled out on the extra charges. They loaded the truck (BEFORE the new total was presented to me) and after all of that, the one driver added the new total and charged me over $1,000 ($1350 to be exact) for the supplies I was not asked about. The total ended up being just under $3,000 more than the estimate. I had paid close to $1,000 before they got there and was ANGRY. No one in the office was there that day. I told the dispatcher I wanted to cancel and he said ok. The driver then told me (by the way, he had a check I had made out for $1,000 in his hand already. Did I hand it to him? No, he grabbed it off the counter) that if I cancelled it would cost $1,100 to unload the truck. He could then told me I would pay so much more money by renting a truck and he said he would not give me back my possessions unless he took my check plus another $100 (there is the $1,100). I would lose almost $2,000 and would still have to rent a truck. I told him to take the check and I would pay for the move (what choice did I have?). Needless to say I was angrier and I called their offices the following business day. The supervisor I spoke to (April) was the NASTIEST person I have ever dealt with. She snapped at me and when I tried listing my complaints, she told me I had already received a discount and she would not discuss the matter any further with me. Out of fear of losing my belongings, I paid the ransom (yes, my things were held hostage by bully tactics. The truck was loaded and my signature was on the docs BEFORE I got the new total) and I wish I could say things got better. They did not. After a full week of paying and me having to call at least 2 dozen times ( I am not exaggerating that number and also, every single time April said she would call back, I had to track her down) I was given a 3-4 day window of when my items would arrive. I called the day before the first potential expected delivery day and was told, "oh it will actually be here today between 3-5". Sounds great, but I had no time to prepare for that and had to leave work early. I tried talking to other supervisors and was always told that no one else was available and April was the only person I could talk to. I did not feel comfortable talking to her and when I did speak to another supervisor named Mike (who promised to call me back a week ago and still has not. Although I do find it funny that within 15 minutes of me telling him I did not want to speak to April anymore, SHE emailed me). I also had another person who was a sales rep say, "sir the supervisors know about your situation and they are not ready to talk to you. WHEN they are ready to talk to you THEY will call you back". I cannot make up anything that I have written and I know that this company will try to dispute my claim and defend themselves by telling me, "this is not how we normally do business, so how do we know this is true?" (actual quote). My response to that is look at the other comments and the F Rating on the BBB. So, please learn from my mistake, do not use this company. You are in for a BAD experience.
