I recently…read moreadopted my beautiful pitbull Pepper and I wanted to keep her active, healthy, and socialized with other dogs. That's when I found Natural Instincts on a Google search and decided to give it a shot. I signed up for the agility classes. For 99$ you can attend agility class either Saturday or Sunday morning for 6 sessions. The sessions expire within 12 weeks so when Pepper had to take a break because she got spayed, it was absolutely no issue. The majority of the class is focused on doing the agility course, but they also practice other things such as proper leash walking. The owner runs the class but there are always atleast 2-3 other trainers around to help. Pepper loves agility! She is a couch potato at heart but when she's at agility class she is always having a blast running and just being around dogs. A lot of obedience classes and dog day cares unfortunately discriminate against pitbulls but at Natural Instincts they are extremely bully friendly. Oh and they always have someone with a professional camera taking amazing pics of you & your dog. It's definitely nice having all these wonderful pictures of my dog (it's not like my camera isn't already full of pics of her). I have one week left from this 6 week package but I'll definitely purchase a new 6 week pass next class.

As we begin to talk to Darrel, we begin to analyze and evaluate the person standing in our house due to his strange/ eccentric behavior and his way of speaking. There was an immediate concern and red flags began to go up in the beginning of our conversation. We were very concerned right out of the gate but we wanted to see where this conversation would take us. First we would like to say that Darrel tried to use a shock collar without our permission on our golden. I immediately stated to him "No Shock Collar as we do not condone fear training!" This is not humane nor recommended to build trust. Darrel asked if could take our golden down the sidewalk. I gave him the lead. Darrel began to pull our golden down the sidewalk slowly. Darrel then switched our halter lead for his Choke leash. Darrel then began to pull our golden with the choke leash. Our golden began to choke violently. I immediately spoke up and said "No More.. We're Done!" Darrel pulled upwards hard on the choke leash to get our golden to sit. This is extremely dangerous to the wind pipe of any dog so is not recommended. Hurting the dog is never an acceptable training method. His training methods are flawed and fear based. We didn't get a good vibe from Darrel at all. Also he asked to bring his dog into our home which is strange in itself. Needless to say won't be using his services. People.. please be aware of who you hire for training your pet.

When she became aggressive toward our older dog, we thought about taking her back to the shelter, but decided to try calling Darrel. I'm so glad we did! He had her behaving by the end of our first lesson, and she got better and better over the next month of working with her weekly. His calm demeanor is catching, and dogs respond so well. He also taught us a few tricks! After a mini-bootcamp, she was a different dog. Our two girls get along now, and we don't have to worry. If you want quick and lasting help with your doggo, don't hesitate to call Darrel.

They said he did great and could board at the facility. After my dog was dropped off for boarding, they called within a couple hours and said he will possibly need to be picked up due to mounting. I have never seen him do this before and he plays with different dogs regularly... but he is a puppy... and I'm sure was very excited with so many dogs. They said that they were going to try a couple different strategies, but we would have to pick him up if it didn't work. One strategy included locking him in a room alone and unsupervised for 15-45 mins for a "time out." They called back the second time and said he had to get picked up. Their methods are not appropriate and neglectful to put kindly. I had to ask a friend, who has never watched my dog, to get him since I was not in town. He stayed the night with him and animals who he never met and had no issues. They definitely need to improve their procedures and the way they handle dogs.

His rules change frequently, like whether or not you're bringing treats for the dogs or they're supplying them. The trainers and other dog owners tend to form a clique and talk down to other dogs on their FB page. How are they surprised that someone took their disobedient dog to Ed Reyes for training? Oh, and his wife only talks to you when she's taking payment for training that only lasted five minutes. I've had better help using YT. He also uses choke collars to "train" the dogs, which I was not going to let him do with mine.

Tara Brock will take your money and traumatize your dog. You won't hear from her for days on end…read more Tara convinced me to take my dog for a month for $1000 to train her away from me. I was hesitant. I got videos of my always-pure white pup looking GROSS 2 weeks in and in the background she's saying "who dug today??" - my dog doesn't dig and has never dug. In the video she's pulling hard away from her. I got back a food-aggressive, traumatized pup... my poor baby. To make matters worse: she was only supposed to have my dog in her care for ONE MONTH - and she kept her for 6 weeks in 2017. I find out now that she's got criminal charges against her FILED IN THE SAME MONTH SHE HAD MY DOG. My dog gulped down two whole bowls of water when I tried to pick her up from her house. I've never seen her drink this much water ever in one sitting. I found out later she kept her in the garage for 4 days... I hope this woman rots in jail for what she does to animals.

Consistency has been key. We always get compliments on what a good dog he is (now a little over 1 years old) and he's happy. :) An added benefit is that after you train with her -she allows you to board your dog with her. I like this because she keeps up with the manners and the other dogs are trained too (we had a negative experience in another boarding scenario).

With this unfortunate (and expensive) experience fresh in our minds, we did not have high expectations as we contacted a new trainer. We could not have been more mistaken. Danielle, and her training techniques, proved to be a breath of fresh air. After the first training session we experienced progress in training, plus we had been given the tools to continue what our doggie had been taught. Session after session, our girls have made great strides under Danielle's tutelage, and we were given necessary instruction on how to continue/compliment the learning process.
