Beyond…read morethe great skills he possesses, he is a man of his word, a pleasant, polite person to deal with. He responded to my email quickly. Corresponded with me through texts including giving me a quote for the job which I found to be a great value. He arrived on time and safely cut down and removed a 30-foot-tall tree in the front yard and he and his son cleaned up the lawn, sidewalk, and street. No mess at all left behind. On the second job two weeks later, he came alone, followed my request to trim off the lower branches of four large trees in the back yard. There were a LOT of branches! These would surely be on the lawn in the next ice storm! And just like last time, these branches don't rebound. This was disaster prevention. He hauled away all the branches off the lawn, then raked the entire length of the 63 feet long by 8 feet deep bed underneath the trees! I did NOT expect that kind of cleanup! I haven't seen that bed so clean in years! He used a blower and cleared the driveway, sidewalk and street of anything that fell during the removal. Again, I was left with no clean up task after he left. Seriously folks, if you need this type of work done by a professional, look no further than The Woodcracker. Highest recommendations!

After a couple weeks when I got my end of the mess all cleaned up, I noticed that after the stump grind they had not quite gotten all of it below grade and called them, their response was quick and poitive, scheduling the grinder back to my home at no additional charge. Must have caught Gus on a bad week or two. He was very nice and helpful during the estimate…read moremeeting. After that, he was terse, impatient, unclear and a tinge of condescending. I started that review in 2017, I never finished it...today I am. I wish I would have known then what I know now. We have hardy plank siding. I didn't know if there was flashing or even paper under it. I asked Gus to give me an estimate and help me figure out if my siding needed any work done to make it more water resistant, if necessary. He could have simply removed one plank to determine if there was paper/flashing. What they did was give me a quote for calking the seams. (approximately $1,300 because it needed "special calking"). I was a new home owner, knew nothing of hardy plank siding, and was relying on his expertise. Today, I am out $1,300. My house still has the TOTALLY UNNECESSARY AND UGLY white vertical calking stripes all the way around my house. There was no blending, smoothing, or finishing. I am going to have to pay any house painter extra to try to remedy this debacle. EVERY contractor I have had come to this house for insulating, house painting, handyman, etc. have all said the same thing, I was taken advantage of and duped. I get to feel that feeling every day while I work to save up enough to try to fix it. I cannot give zero stars but I would if I could. I am doubting if they are even a legitimate business. If you have had business with them in the past, I would strongly suggest you get another opinion or two to make sure they did what they said they would, and more importantly that you even needed what they did in the first place. Not to mention how much you may have paid. This eats at me regularly because there isn't anything I can do about it at this point. And the amount of money I would have to spend to try to get my money back isn't worth it. Boo. These aren't all the photos I could and should take. This is just a sampling of the entire exterior of my house. Just. A. Sampling.
