The appointment was easy to make - I went to their website and booked two time slots for each of the Groupons I purchased. I received a text within an hour or two of making the online reservation, asking for my Groupon voucher. That's all it took! The facial actually began with a foot soak, a pleasant and unexpected surprise. They gave us half robes and a headband for our hair, which was way more comfortable than the usual disposable headbands. The tables were heated and they had soft, relaxing music playing in the background. Katie explained each of the steps to me and after doing a preliminary examination of my skin told me what she wanted to focus on (for me, it was dry skin, and for my mom, Donna recommended a chemical peel). They were both fantastic with post facial skincare. It was such a relaxing facial! Katie also gave me hand and scalp massages, and the facial finished with a warm towel on my back. It's a grand looking place in the middle of 2920 with a pretty little body of water in front. There's other empty looking plazas in front but take a drive all the way behind those, and you'll find a parking lot, to park by the French Quarter Salon. This place is extremely huge, and seems like a building filled with beauty various treatment businesses, so don't get too confused and just ask the ladies in front where to go. I got a bit confused and almost ended up going up the stairs, but decided to save myself possible embarrassment and just asked. The women at the front directed me on how to contact Monique for my appointment while I waited in the lobby. As for the entire experience, Monique gave me a sit down of the products she used, some useful tips, and answered any questions I had. While being waxed, she was very informative about what was going on as well as entertaining! It's weird to say, but I actually enjoyed coming here to get waxed. There was lots of conversation that helped me get my mind off of what was going on, and I actually felt little to no pain during the whole process. Nothing bad to comment on at all. I have never been professionally waxed before and was excited. I get there at 1:55 and the place was CLOSED. Got in touch via cell phone with the owner and she informed me that ALL of her employees were out of town and her sister, who was supposed to be watching the store 'must have left early'. She then proceeded to ask me if I could stick around for 45 min (after I LEFT WORK for this and drove 20 min). I said I couldn't. Then she said she could be there in 30 min and she would give me 50% off. Fine. This was the only time slot I had. This conversation happed at 2:04 pm. 2:34 came and passed. Her mother showed up looking for her and visibly irritated that no one was there. She informed me that Mardi Gras was where all the employees were. WHY a business owner would allow every employee off in the same weekend is beyond me. Then her mother said that the sister had to leave to take her 4-year-old to the dr. I get that, but there should have been communication with the owner for her to come up there if the sister couldn't stay all day. Or AT LEAST call the rest of the appts. and cancel them. This was at 2:39. Her mother called her and she was then 15 min away. 2:54 came and went. I waited until 3:10 before driving off. I wasted an hour and 45 min of my time for literally nothing. Not a place I would recommend to anyone that has to stick to an actual schedule. Can't speak to any of their work since I didn't have anything done other than sitting in a parking lot for over an hour.

TORTURE CHAMBER!…read more Technicians here were never very light handed and most of the time I couldn't take a lash nap while getting my refills but my experience during my last two week volume refill is what finally broke the camel's back. I went in at 5:30pm last Sunday. The refill was painful but what's new? When I opened my eyes I realized it was all uneven and looked shabby. I had an important business trip that week and said I can't just show up like that. They said the tech can fix it in 15-20 min so I agreed to let them fix it. BIG MISTAKE! Tech started working on removing the lashes and I've never experienced such pain in my eyes before. Not only the remover burned horribly but she kept yanking on my lashes so hard that at one point I screamed in pain and scared the tech. I didn't want to be there anymore I asked if I can get all the lashes removed and they said it would take at least an hour. I decided against that because at this point I was panicking and all I wanted was to get out of that chair as soon as possible with my eyes intact. Then they started applying new lashes. That was a whole different kind of pain. My EYELIDS started to burn. I know the glue fumes can burn your eyes and it's part of the process but at this point it was my eyelids that just felt like they were on fire. They irrigated the area and continued. Finally I was told I can open my eyes again. At this point I had been in that torture chair for 2.5 hours and had to pee. I went to the restroom and noticed that after all that pain and emotional distress my lashes were still uneven!!!! But seriously, who cares? All I wanted was to run out of there. I paid for the full $75 two week volume refill and left. The next morning I woke up and my eyes felt weird. So I went to the mirror and got terrified of the face staring back at me. Never have I ever had eyes this swollen and red before. To be honest, after that 2.5 hr torture I was still grateful that I at least still had my vision! I went to my business trip and had to explain to people the dumb mistakes I made regarding my lashes so they don't think I'm getting abused at home. I sent the pictures and requested a refund from the business, because who would want to spend their hard earned money to get tortured only to end up looking like this. Never heard back from them. Moral of the story is, NEVER EVER go to EmLash!!! They will physically harm you and take your money for it!

I walked in and had a complimentary lash bath with their provided supplies. I then sat in the recliner and was serviced. This was the first time I didn't have any irritation or stay away lashes randomly flying off . 5/5
