It was relocated from Blue Point and restored by Fontana Concrete, and is a roadside attraction famous for its promises of fortune and wealth: Local folklore has it that the Sphinx's nose was shot off in the thirties by a poverty-stricken vandal in defiance of it's prophecies, geared toward horny, money-hungry women. Today, there is sign posted in effort to deter impulsive or haphazard climbing, but the mesmerizing Sphinx continues to draw-in lower & middle class ladies with big dreams to climb on up. They had everything we needed instead of having to order and wait. We had prior gone to Home Depot for the ADA certified sink and toilet we needed.
