While I was initially frustrated by the communication and felt my concerns were being dismissed, I do appreciate that he ultimately responded, came out personally, and worked toward a solution rather than ignoring the issue entirely. He also offered a reasonable option to repair the plow damage at the road and reseal the driveway. I still believe the initial communication could have been handled better from the beginning, but I also believe it's only fair to update my review now that an effort was made to address the concerns.

I wanted my driveway completely ripped up and redone from the base up. Tom came out in a very…read moretimely manor to give me an estimate. He gave me a more-than-competitive quote that was good for 30 days with a scope that was beyond what I anticipated. I have very wet ground. They pulled up my existing driveway and rolled in new Item 4. They allowed it to sit long enough to firm up before returning to re-roll the low spots with more Item 4 and put down asphalt. They applied a generous layer of both for an amazing final product. They graded everything appropriately and were incredibly efficient. The only reason I left off a star is because of the communication. I had to call to find out when they were coming for the tear out and had to call again to get the date that they were coming back for asphalt. I was on their calendar but no one reached out to tell me dates. That was up to me. I would 100% recommend them for their work and efficiency.

They did a beautiful job sealcoating my driveway with all cracks carefully filled with hot tar. Since then, they bait-switched on me twice. First time they switched the oil sealer with hot tar filling to a latex sealer job. Later, Jr. told me that was his cousin and he's no longer there. Jr. said he would make it right for me if I would hire them again. But Jr. did the same thing to me this year. He sent another cousin over to do the job. This cousin, wearing another company's uniform, said no one told him that he needed to do hot tar crack filling. He got Jr. on the phone. When I confronted Jr. that not only we had agreed earlier about the sealcoating and hot tar filling and the price, but also his office confirmed all this with him, then reiterated to me item by item, which included hot tar filling of the cracks. Jr. said that it was the secretary's misunderstanding /miscommunication! So, the cousin did latex coating of the driveway and cracks. Besides, they didn't do a neat job either. Some part of the driveway edge was not seal coated and the grass on both sides of the driveway was black. Moreover, they tied the yellow ribbon on my fully loaded garbage can which I put outside for next morning's collection. I had to go out in the middle of the night to untie the ribbon and tied the ribbon to something else. I would not go back to them ever again, and would advise if you consider hire them, put things down in writing, don't trust what they say.

On the first day of the job, Pete and his crew arrived at our property very early in the morning before my wife and I were awake and proceeded to move everything that was in proximity to the house out into the yard to give a berth for falling debris. The issue was we had expressed wanting to do this ourselves and many of the plants that were moved were damaged by being left out in the direct summer sun. I spoke to Pete to confirm that our garden would be protected and in no danger of being damaged by debris, and he said they would take the necessary measures to ensure it would be. No more than 5 minutes later, shingles were being launched off the roof directly into the garden, smashing and lacerating everything in their path. At the end of the job, there were many nails around the property as one would expect. The magnet did not do a sufficient job of picking them up, and my wife and I picked up several hundred by hand even after Pete and his team had returned to do two more sweeps with the magnet. A nail in the driveway also punctured the tire on my truck. After the job was "finished," we discovered that our bay windows wouldn't open because the trim had been placed too low and blocked their clearance, so the team had to come out again to fix this. The dumpster also left sizeable gauges in our lawn, which they backfilled with inexpensive, gravely dirt. All in all, we felt All Type did not exhibit the minimal care and respect for our property that we would expect and were more concerned with getting the job done quickly and moving on to the next. The finished product itself looks nice, so I felt two stars more appropriate than one.
