Too many cooks in the kitchen. The vets travel from clinic to clinic and unfortunately that leads to a lapse in care because the vet you see one day may not be the vet you see another. Because of this the care is not consistent and notes from previous vet are not always read. You have to constantly repeat the issue with your pet and unfortunately things are missed and your pet suffers because of this. I would not recommend this animal hospital to anyone who loves their pet. read more

These vets are very caring...but all they care about is how much money they can get from you. One of my cats gets sick on a Saturday so I had no choice but to pay their absurd $800 bill for pretty much bloodwork and a shot. Then I suspected another cat had swallowed a piece of shoe lace and wanted to take him in just for an x-ray. Nope...they quoted me a long list of things they would have to do for a total of $700. That or take your business elsewhere. All I needed was an x-ray to possibly save my cat's life. Will never go there again. read more

Since relocating to Lutz three and a half years ago, we've exclusively taken our pets (2 cats and a dog) to All Creatures. All Creatures features a knowledgeable staff that cares about animals. This shines through by the way they treat your furry friends. They are all about making them comfortable in the waiting room and during the exam. Don't worry, they offer some of the same comforts to humans. My kids loved going, pre-Covid, because they could pick out snacks and drinks. One thing to note about All Creatures is their caretaking philosophy. Most of the vets here, but some more than others, have a philosophy to start with the most aggressive treatment then work backwards. This has caused us to have some disagreements as sometimes, in end of life situations, we are looking for something different. In those situations, the All Creatures staff have been supportive of the decisions we've made even if that wasn't their first suggestion. Despite some philosophical disagreements at times, All Creatures has always offered us amazing care for our pets. That is why we continue to visit. read more

All of the staff and doctors have been so supportive & caring I could not ask for anything more! I receive calls with update. I received calls to check on Kiltee once she was home. Truly I am grateful they have saved her life as she arrived under Kidney Failure - she is not to the levels back at kidney disease however we are hopeful to get there and doing much better. I had the difficult and heartbreaking decision of whether or not to put my dog down recently. Having just moved to the area, this was my first interaction with the staff of ACAH and they were absolutely incredible. From the first phone call to the day I went and picked up my dogs last paw print, the staff was thoughtful, compassionate, empathetic and overall very lovely considering the situation. They made me feel in control every single step of the way, they were sensitive about approaching payment, and let me take a long as I needed. Don't expect this practice to be your go to for urgent care. Only asked to be seen in the next couple of days for an evaluation for cancer and labored breathing. I have been an established patient for probably 10 years and I was told no they only have an appointment 1.5 weeks out. This also happened a few years back with another dog that fell and hit her head. Was told them also no they won't see her they have no openings. Far cry from Dr Stottelmeyer was around..so sad as to what this practice has become. It's all about the quick dollar and really no care about the patients or owners when they need them. read more

I have been with All Creatures for six years and this year, I left them. There were three occasions when I needed their emergency help and only once, were they available. The first time, Toby our dog, was in renal failure and All Creatures is 8 minutes away. They were Toby's vet for three years. They told me I needed to go to Pebble Creek which was a good 20 minutes away, maybe more. They were too busy. All Creatures did find time to put Toby to sleep the following day. A week after Toby's passing, I received the computer-generated notice that Toby was due for wellness shots or an exam. Two weeks later, we had two new rescues. Throughout the 6 years we received random computer-generated messages that were incorrect so finally, we stopped paying attention to them. We always commented on the notifications to the staff. The last straw was when we were leaving the country and the dogs were going to be boarded the next day. The boarding facility noticed that Connor's Bodatellia's vaccine was going to expire while he was being boarded so he needed to get that vaccine updated. Just so you know, it's a nasal spray that takes 15 seconds to administer and 5 minutes for someone to do the paperwork. Did All Creatures alert me? Sure, along with 20 inaccurate alerts. I said before that I stopped looking at the notifications due to their inaccuracy. I begged and pleaded with them to administer the Bodatella. They called another vet and asked them if they could see Connor. They said yes and All Creatures again, sent me to another vet to help in an emergency situation. I called twice to talk to the vet I typically see and even stopped in once, to talk to her before changing vets. Maybe she would change my mind. Her attempt to reach me was after hours so when I missed the call(s) I could not call back because it went to the answering service. I never spoke to her again. When Chloe's leg was broken, they were $1500 more than any other vet that quoted us so they did not do the repair. They did charge me $700 to tell me her leg was broken (emergency #3) Are they always helpful? No. My fiance' reminded me that the only good thing I said about them is that they are so nice! They are nice but if they can't help you when you need them, what good are they to you? read more

I have only positive things to say about this animal clinic! I wish I brought my pup here from the beginning, but after dealing with a bad vet at a different facility, we switched here to see Dr. Moser and have never had an issue since. The entire staff is kind, considerate, understanding, and compassionate. Anytime you call or are in person, they are extremely helpful and you can tell they love what they do! My dog has major vet anxiety and can be a bit difficult, but Dr. Moser and the rest of the staff have never made me feel bad about him or treated us differently! A bonus is they are affordable! I dealt with her name was Courtney Riley I believe she was so sweet kind and understanding I had just switch from a previous vet on 54 in lutz. Then Elaina Mozer help me the next time just as kind and concerned zero pressure in anything I do but they also address all my needs and lets me ask questions they handle my dogs so good. Then Bill peters what a cutie and just as nice as the girls today I had Patrick McGeever. I first met All Creatures when I took my sweet Calico Cat that was not doing well and my vet services wanted to keep running tests with no results. Turns out she had cancer and needed to be down. Dr. Wilkinson and the staff were so compassionate and allowed us to take as much time as we needed to say our goodbye. We were so impressed, we changed from our regular vet to for our Boxer who was being treated for Cushing's Disease. The curbside only service and constant referrals to Blue Pearl was not the care we were comfortable with. All Creatures Dr's and Staff were just terrific in helping us with compassionate care for our Hooch till his natural passing. I have been taking my babies here for 3 years. 3 cats and a dog. Our youngest kitty had an allergic reaction to something causing her face to swell, foaming at the mouth and barely breathing. I was told by my vet office to take her somewhere 10 to 15 minutes away, at which point she would most surely would have died ! I rushed her to urgent vet on 54 much closer and we got here just in time to try and stabilize her. She is on Benadryl and hoping she continues to improve. So disappointed in All Creatures. I cannot rave about Dr. McGeever enough. I called their office at 7:30 on a Friday night to see if my animal could urgently be seen for a sonogram. No other doctor in the area was able to do this at that time of day, not even the emergency clinics. We arrived 10 minutes prior to closing and we there for 2 hours. Dr. McGeever took his time to make sure that our dog got the attention he needed so that we would know if we needed to proceed with emergency surgery that night. He never made us feel rushed or like we were putting him out for staying late on a Friday night. He was thorough and explanatory.... didn't use medical lingo and was honest with us about how things looked. If we didn't live far away, we would absolutely use Dr. McGeever for all of our animals. As a physician this is by far the WORST veterinary medical care facility I have ever experienced. Brought my dog in two weeks ago for what seemed like an upper respiratory infection, I wanted to let the physicians do their jobs because I am not a veterinarian. They suggested a chest x-ray?! Why wouldn't you look at the blood to diagnose an upper respiratory infection and or valley fever? You can't see a definitive diagnosis of Valley fever or an upper respiratory infection from a chest x-ray. I spent over $800 and went to two consecutive appointments, Second one I requested they pull blood and also test for valley fever since their chest x-ray suggested nothing was wrong with her. Two weeks later I still have no diagnosis and no phone call with any blood test results. After multiple phone calls I finally got the test results, and it's valley fever. Valley fever is a deadly disease if not treated. So while they're counting their paycheck my dog is sitting here possibly dying. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. This is basic medical care and you learn this in the first three weeks of medical school. However maybe vet school is different, but you would think you wouldn't have to coach a doctor on how to treat a patient. Update: I have emailed your clinic manager. We saw Dr. Fisher 1 week prior to seeing Dr. Davila. There was no follow up from either provider. I proactively made a follow up, and then coached Dr. Davila to pull the blood to check for infection and then there was no follow up for 2 weeks. If patient care was your number one that would be apparent in your clinical practice and it is not. read more

The staff and service they provide at All Creatures Animal Hospital is exceptional. Our previous Australian Shepherd was seen by the veterinarians at All Creatures from 10 weeks until 6 years of age, stopping to have our dog seen there only because our daughter went away to college and took him with her. The entire time we never experienced any negative treatment or service for our Aussie. We didn't have a dog for a number of years but recently decided to get another Australian Shepherd. Our new baby is seen regularly by the veterinarians at All Creatures and it's like we never left. All staff is genuinely caring and the service is top notch. There are other closer veterinarian services near our home but we chose to bring our Aussie to the veterinarians at All Creatures. I had my cocker for about 12 years and, a few years after he passed, I started taking my next dog there, and has been for a good 10 years now, with a cat overlapping the two dogs. My son uses them and so do many friends, including the neighbor who recommended them 20+ yrs ago. So, my family has taken our fur babies to All Creatures for many years. Never once did I question going there. I have always received great service, even thru all their transitions since the death of Dr Stottlemyer in 2016. I have NEVER been troubled by anything that occurred. Well, Buddy came up for this year's well check-up 9/17, vaccines, and meds. My last vet there, Dr Davila had moved to another part of town, so I was curious as to Buddy's new vet.....I had asked for whoever was the closest to Dr Davila. The tech came in, did her pre-stuff, and left for a few minutes. Dr Patrick Kowalewski came in, greeted me, and went straight to Buddy. Buddy's tail was thumping against the door so hard that it sounded like someone was knocking. Dr K was then down on the floor with Buddy, petting this 60lb hunk of dog, noses close, telling him how his were the most gorgeous brown eyes he had ever seen, tail thumping more, talking to me in-between saying how he could see the Sheba in him. He stroked his fur checking for lumps, found one that Buddy had always had, and Buddy had no clue that he was a vet, only that this new person was paying him great attention. Dr K continued petting Buddy as he told me his findings re his teeth, skin, fur, eyes, etc...tail continued thumping. The tech and Dr K gave him little treats for being so good...Mr Particular enjoyed them (often refuses treats he doesn't know). Buddy was not happy when Dr K left, but gave me one of his hugs, the way he thanks me for something he had fun doing. The staff arranged for his meds and the billing...Buddy looked like he was looking for Dr K. As soon as I got home, I gave Buddy one of his favorite Good n Fun treats for being a good boy. I then loaded his receipt on to the Zoetis site to get the rebates that I roll into subsequent refills on his meds. Meds are easy, even the big ones....not a dog I know that has tried them in a dab of salmon cream cheese has been able to resist. LOVE YOU ALL AT ALL CREATURES, LUTZ!!!!! read more

The staff at the front desk is super nice and very accommodating. However, I do NOT have complete confidence in the doctors there and there seems to be a bit of turn over. Disadvantage is definitely price. They are very high priced compared to other vets. I've actually called around and asked for same procedures pricing and know this for a fact. Advantage would be hours of availability and a full scope of services. Also, I too have had a cple animals who have NOT been diagnosed despite doing every test they recommend. i took my very sick cat to see Dr. Clark last year. Dr. Clark was the third vet to see my sweet cat, and he was able to diagnose him, a first. Dr. Clark kept him going for just over a year. He also saw Dr. Kowaleski. Today, was his finale visit, as he had to be put down. Dr. Wilkinson was on duty and performed the procedure. I cannot say enough about how kind all of the doctors and team members have been to me, today and over the past year. They were always caring, and concerned for my wonderful pet (Bo), as well as for me. Today they took such great care of my Bo, carefully prepared him for the procedure and for the ride home, where I took him. They gave me a beautiful card, with his paw print in it, such a thoughtful thing to do, and a treasure, since I didn't think to do it. Although this was an incredibly hard day, there kindness made it better. Our dog Matthew always gets the best care at All Creatures Animal Hospital. They take their time, they listen to what I have to say, and they are conservative in their approach to treatment which I appreciate since Vet care can be very costly. They also offer affordable "no frills" boarding. We've only used that option once, but for $16 for a night, it's great. read more

I have been a customer of this vet practice for over 7 years. The original vet, Dr. Stottlemeyer (RIP) is no longer the owner or associated with this office as he passed in June 2016 . Dr Courtney Riley became my Dr of choice for my dogs when she joined the practice. I feel she has a genuine, caring energy and never pressured me to get extra tests or "nice-to-have" tests for my animals when they were ill. She was able to recommend a treatment plan that restored their health and did not cost a fortune (though one dog has diabetes and the other had bladder stones, so it was still pricey!) Fast forward to about a month ago when I brought dogs in to office for ear infection of boy dog and to discuss the continued itchiness of my girl dog (I have tried apoquel in the past and grew concerned about the side affects reported online) My appointment was with Dr Clarke, one of the new owners and investor in the practice. Dr Clarke addressed my concerns that apoquel suppresses the immune system leaving the dog exposed to other opportunistic diseases. He minimized the risk and assured me any dogs that got sick while on apoquel were already in a high risk group with other health problems. I made the decision to try apoquel again as he spoke with confidence. He was also very convincing that I should get several tests for both animals. This visit ended up costing over $850 for cultures and blood tests and medications. (including $120 for package of 6 heartworm preventatives. full disclosure) I still was satisfied when I left that the neighborhood animal hospital was in caring and competent hands - after all, I could have said NO to any of the tests he suggested. Dr Clarke called me with test results and said all was fine except he wanted me to give my boy dog antibiotics even though the medication I was using for his ears was appropriate for the infection. He told me the Rx was sitting at the front desk waiting on me and had been there for several days. When I got to the vet though, the front desk staff told me that medication had just arrived that morning and was not unpacked and stocked yet. I had to wait while they located the box and filled the Rx (incidentally, the directions called for 1 1/2 pills a day until all gone - I wondered why I could not just get the right dosage for my dog?) I paid another $50 for this. I decided to order the apoquel online as I searched for a less expensive option since she needs 2 pills a day for the drug to work (cutting down to 1 pill a day after the initial 14 days brought back the itching.) When I called the office staff to get a supply of apoquel to hold us over until the mail order drugs arrived, I was told that "if they (the office) had already faxed the Rx to the online pharmacy, I could only get 1 or 2 pills to hold me over as the Rx is considered filled once it is faxed." I knew the pills would take a week or more to arrive so I questioned this policy?? Did they think I wanted to black market some apoquel? It seemed like if I did NOT order from them, then they could not help me. After checking, the office staff verified the Rx had not been faxed yet. (I placed the order on Thursday the previous week and this was Tuesday! Additionally, I CALLED them not only to get the holdover-pills but to see why the Rx was taking so long to FAX) I asked if I could go ahead and pay ahead of time to which she replied that wasn't necessary, as there was only one other patient left for the day so it would not be busy when I arrived. I also asked for a copy of my dogs shot records and a copy of the prescription. When I stopped to get the pills, they would only give me a 7 day supply and they charged me an UPCHARGE for filling the "emergency" supply. The desk tech also tried to tell me that I could not have a copy of the Rx as it was not signed by the Dr (who I could hear talking through the door leading to the treatment rooms.) She also refused to give me an Rx with unlimited refills - this was a drug the Dr told me is safe for my dog to be on for the rest of her life. She told me it was the Dr's policy and they weren't responsible for the Dr's policy. I asked who was responsible for the fax not getting sent to the online pharmacy resulting in me having to pay more for the medication for my dog? I seriously do not know why these young girls that work here feel like giving a customer a difficult time is OK. I am left feeling that Dr Clarke recommended the treatment plan that would net him (and his team of investors) the highest profit. Why should it be a problem to get a prescription filled online? Wasn't a grand enough to make from one customer on one visit to the vet? I suggest the Dr and his staff give customers some CHOICES (ie aggressive plan A, conservative plan B, etc)....otherwise, they risk losing their BREAD and BUTTER!! Change your business model to treat your customers with KINDNESS and CONSIDERATION. read more

**Update 09/30/19** Lily saw Dr. Peters today- he was INCREDIBLE. Also, our tech, Jennifer (and I didn't get the phlebotomists name but OMG SHE IS MAGIC!). Guys, they had cookies for people and the lady at the desk came through the lobby to give all the dogs treats while they were waiting. I don't know what else I can say other than I am so grateful to have found this place. I did legitimately cry when my appointment was bumped because there was an emergency- I only cried because I could tell the doggie was there to get euthanized...I just hugged my pup tight. I do wish they would have a separate entrance for euthanasia, it's horrible to sit there with other owners who get to leave with their dogs whirl spending the last moments with yours- that would be my suggestion, I do think they should look into that. It's been a minute since I moved to Lutz, but since my dog was not due for any vaccines I've held off on finding a new Vet especially because our old Ver in Jacksonville was amazing. I originally called a smaller clinic off Livingston but they did not do the proheart shot for heart worm. I called All Creatures, and easily made a tech appointment for a Bordetella booster. It was nice that I walked in early and was seen early- that's rare! The staff were welcoming and were very sweet to my pup. I loved that the tech who administered the vaccine told me and Lily what she was doing (ok, now I'm going to put my hand on your chest to feel your heart rate, Lily."), as a nursing student I thought it was just amazing that the standard of care we use for humans was extended to my dog! I also loved how they came out to me in the waiting area since it was fairly empty to give the nasal vaccine to Lily, the tech explained she liked when the owner could be around because it reduces the fur-baby's anxiety. We will definitely be back for her annual in September, so happy I found a great Vet's office (because we all know it's not just the Vet that needs to be good, the staff sets the tone and they are the face you will interact with most if your pup gets sick). read more

While my cat was being euthanized the vet let me rock and sing to my cat and gave my husband and I time to hold him and say goodbye. Our kitty Boots was under the care of Dr. Bill Peters at All Creatures Animal Hospital, Lutz. She went blind and had kidney disease. Dr. Peters was very thorough in his exams and showed great compassion. She lived 6 more months. Upon her demise, I was surprised to receive a personal phone call from Dr. Peters expressing his condolences. He reassured me that I had done everything in my power to give her a good life. I also received a card from him again expressing his condolences. I've never met such a caring doctor. It's not often you find someone so competent as well as compassionate. I used to go to this veterinarians as I had a very "tricky" German Shepherd at the time, and was advised to see Dr Stottelmeyer (RIP) who apparently specialized in this breed. He was fantastic and so worth the drive from New Tampa. Now I have moved to Carrollwood, based on my previous excellent experience here, I was happy to revisit with my new adopted dog. We saw Dr Bill Peters - very impressed with the time he took and the compassion he showed. The front desk staff were efficient and pleasant, and the vet tech(s) the same. Dr. Rachel at All Creatures is fantastic. She just saw my 13 year old pit bull in urgent care and was so thorough and comprehensive and explained everything so well. Took our dogs in recently and I guess the prices have gone up since we last were here. Not only was I there for 1.5 hrs it was over $700 for just a routine check up. Needless to say we will be looking for a new vet. The vet and the vet techs were all nice but I'm not willing to spend that kind of money just to get a check up and some shots. We have four dogs total and that appointment was for only 2 of them had I brought the others it would have been well over $1,000! read more
