I was looking for a team that was not only friendly and professional but also capable of handling more complex medical issues if they arose. We have working line German Shepherds, and the team here has been absolutely wonderful with them. One of our dogs had a serious health condition that was misdiagnosed for months at a different clinic. The vets here were able to accurately diagnose the issue and get us on the right track. Professionalism and deep veterinary knowledge are my top priorities (more so than cost), and this clinic checks both boxes--plus their pricing is very reasonable. It's also the nicest, most well-organized vet clinic I've ever been to. What really gives me peace of mind is knowing that if one vet isn't sure about something, they don't guess--they'll consult with a colleague or refer out to a specialist to get answers. I've seen several vets here, but Dr. Forst stands out as a favorite. The front desk staff is always friendly, responsive, and helpful. Dr. Cypher's kids are both techs and I love that there seems to be no turnover so it feels like a big family. I am motivated to write today because of their skill in acupuncture. One of my dogs is getting pretty old and he pulled a muscle in his back so badly that his vertebrae was out of alignment. They were able to find time for us on short notice. He went from barley able to move to climbing back into bed and basically normal behavior after one treatment. The anti-inflammatory and pain killers help but the improvement is dramatic. This is a video of him enjoying a cow ear while the acupuncture takes effect. You might be able to hear the ambient bird songs chirping in the background and the dim light was a nice touch. It feels zen every time but this was exquisite.

I asked if I can bring him in right away. They said, "We can't fit you in. Sorry." I begged and said he might die. They did not care. They told me they might be able to fit me in the NEXT DAY in the afternoon. I slammed down the phone and said I'd never be back. I called Wedington Animal Hospital, and they didn't ask any questions. They said to bring him in IMMEDIATELY. I did, and they saved him. He was there for a couple of days, and they made sure he would recover and be OK. They will always be our vets as long as we live in this area. Hamish loved the people, and he's now 12 years old and as feisty as ever. When I took my latest dog in for a first visit the vet never looked at me and did not examine the dog. Just took down information. Yesterday my dog quit eating and is very lethargic. I called for an appointment for today (the next morning from when I called). New vets, new receptionists. I was told couldn't get her in today (Tuesday), first available is Saturday. My dog is clearly sick. Waiting 5 days is unacceptable. This has never happened before in all these years. They will never see me again.
