I was a little surprised and thought it was funny when I saw in thier Yelp description that they just flat out put some of their pricing in their bio. That is very upfront-already they were out of my price range as I have hired bartending companies in the past and was just looking for maybe 2 signature cocktails and some standard packages. The owner (Mikey) told me that they offer an incredible cocktail experience and perhaps their services wouldn't suit my needs. Really straightforward and honest. Gave me some good advice about my own party with no pressure and told me to check out their Instagram page for perhaps a future event. Just for fun I checked out their website videos and Instagram and I was in awe or even addicted to their beautiful cocktails. My husbands and our friends all watched the videos and read the reviews. I was so worried- they sounded too good to be true (Instagram beautiful, but disappointing in person). So we kinda all pitched in to hire these guys-we just decided to go all out and ordered EVERY recommendation! We never ordered glassware or tables before and Mikey told us exactly what to order-he was like a wedding coordinator for bars! We got these crazy images printed on rice paper and handmade candy butterflies that looked like really jewelry-just blown away! They were the stars of the party and the vendors. Even the vendors wanted drinks. They had this service where they would just create on the spot which definitely was a pricey option but wow what an experience! It was like a Michelin star cocktail that had Instagram worthy looks all you can drink buffet experience! Every drink that left the bar everyone-would try to take a picture of it. I mean I even saw someone taking a picture of a drink off someone else's phone gallery lol!! Even my wine snob friend and manly beer drinkers wanted in. We are all still talking about the drinks and how passionate they were. Even water and non-alcoholic drinks they left the bar looked too pretty to drink. THE SETUP There was both a main bar area in the upstairs lounge area of the Office for ICIS Apartment Homes. [It has a wonderful vibe of a trendy club, with lots of space and great furnishings.] This set-up permitted the good people at N2 Mixology to prepare the drinks at the bar, as well as set-up server platters full of drinks to distribute. And so I have to say right off how impressed I was with N2 Mixology's ability to cover such a large crowd of people (upward towards 200 by my own personal count). THE BAR Oh my goodness! There were so many delicious cocktail creations, and a shout-out needs to go here about the featured talents of Niko Novick and his crew from N2 Mixology. THE AWESOME REP Since starting N2mixology LLC back in 2011, Novick has been busy consulting with other bars, helping design some of the set-ups around town for new establishments. He has also been busy being booked for many shows after-parties, including the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and Toronto Film Fest two years in a row. When Joe answered the phone this morning, I was relieved to know they were around and could answer some questions. When Joe went into his spiel of asking ME questions, he got very upset if I'd need to stop him for clarification. He was annoyed I didn't have a more specific time than "evening" for the party that I'm in the midst of planning. He was condescending when I said my husband was "into mixology and had been to some of their places" which was I guess the wrong thing to say (??) -- [they have a list of all of the speak-easy-type places and bars in which their mixologists have worked so...?]. When he asked if we had a bar in our house, I said we could rent one -- that also annoyed him. He told me they were very expensive, he also said something about protecting themselves from our guests being rude to his mixologists bc they're young? WTF Joe was super arrogant and told me he'd been doing this a long time and if I would just let him speak this would go better. I was not interrupting him and if I ever did, I would say, "I'm so sorry, let me just stop you for a second..." before clarification. Then he said if you want to talk to somebody else, which I wrongly assumed meant someone AT HIS COMPANY who could clarify things, he told me to go to a different company and to have a nice day. Wow.
