I decided to try a different route. I started working with Alliance 2 months after my accident. I was in significant pain, was weak, and had very limited mobility. There were so many movements that would take my breath away (reaching for seat belt, getting dressed, etc...). I started PT with Dr. Brian and was able to gain some mobility back. However, the intense pain did not allow me to increase my strength. After speaking with Dr. John, I decided to undergo PRP/Stem cell treatments in both shoulders and my neck. It worked! Eight weeks post-treatment, I was able to lift light weights with both arms in various directions with no pain. I have been an athlete my entire life, and not being able to work out has been terrible. Today, for the first time since my accident, I swam! It felt so amazing!! I always ask for one of the last appointments of the day. I found out the day before that the doctor won't be there for my appointment and being told I'll need to move my appointment to an earlier time didn't work for me. I called back on 2/1/2021 around 4pm thinking I could get one of the last appointments of the day a different day even if it's not until the following week or so. The female scheduler started to give me a 3:30pm appointment on February 9th but then said "Oh I actually can't provide you with that time. We can offer an 8:30am appointment on February 9th though." I told her I need the latest appointment again. She said that I'd have to call back and try again the following day. When I questioned this I was then informed that they have to schedule appointments in time order "so that they doctors are not sitting around waiting for patients." I questioned this again. They apparently now book appointments in a time order and if I want one of the later appointment times, I would have to keep calling back in hopes the appointments before 3pm have been taken. I expressed my frustration in this system. It feels like a radio talk show to win tickets and you're calling to try to the 5th caller. The female schedule stated it is because of COVID and so the doctors aren't having time gaps in their schedule. She then transferred me to Maggie, the team lead, and she said the same thing. I then called back on 2/2/2021 around 8am and asked to speak to the office manager and was transferred to HR. I spoke to Adaira ( I could be spelling her name wrong possibly) and I explained what happened the day before and my frustration with the situation between my appointment being changed the day before after being schedule ahead of time and then my frustration with trying to reschedule. Adaira stated she would get with DJ and see what could be done. I then had a voicemail from Maggie, the team lead, on 2/2/2021 at 8:32am stating "Hi this message is for Aubrey I was calling you back from all Florida orthopedic. He has three emergency cases at Saint Anthony's um so we wouldn't be able to do a late appointment today anyway um but if you want to come in next Tuesday on the ninth um just give us a call back we can book you at 3:30. So if you do call back in and you get anybody they will know to put you in at 3:30 um if you have any questions feel free to call 727-527-5272 option four." I've been hunting for a trustworthy and "the right" chiropractor for years now and I can honestly say, I found that with The Source. We drive ~45 mins to get to them but they are worth every traffic battle. Here's my long winded experience in case you are on the fence about seeing them: The first time patient visit encompasses everything you wished your previous chiropractors would do - testing your mobility and movement, resistance and strength, any aches or pains or discomfort or concerns - not just with a piece of paper where you write all of these things down but with you moving, walking, squatting, and provider guided testing. It was a process that was not rushed, very informative, and extremely appreciated. Both my husband and I felt seen and heard from our very first visit - really from the very first phone call when I inquired about care I felt that way. I've never had that much of an in-depth on-boarding patient experience before. The treatment plans, for both my husband and I, were thoughtfully laid out and explained and got us excited about the care. I am postpartum with my second born and my career is hard on my body - I have been being treated for almost 3 months now and I can adequately say I feel different in the best way. I've had a rib that's been out of position for 20 years that was repositioned into it's appropriate place (ouch during recovery but WORTH IT) and I no longer have a "drop shoulder" and I can breathe deeper. My posture is better and I am more mindful with my ergonomics while working. My pelvic floor is getting stronger and my low back pain when bending over is gone. I used to get extreme headaches when jumping up and down and now I can jump around with my kids without issue (it was explained to me why I get headaches when I jump and how they can help correct this). 10/10 thankful over here. My husband has also been in care with The Source for almost 3 months and he is leaps and bounds better than when he first walked in the door. He has dealt with chronic pain for 10+ years, mood outbursts from that pain, and restrictions. He's been to physical therapy, chronic pain doctors, pain management and rolfing massage therapists, myofascial unwinding specialists, and now chiropractic care. He still has a long way to recovery but he's in the best hands.
