I wanted to try out a mobile groomers because my Goldendoodle, Gatsby, did not like being left someplace strange for 6 hours before and kenneled with a bunch of yipping dogs. Or, I didn't like it and am projecting. Anyway, Linda had an opening this week and I desperately needed to get the dog a haircut and bath. She is unlike other mobile groomers in that she doesn't have her own van or motorhome. She does it all in your driveway. I wasn't sure how it'd work, but wanted to give it a try. It was raining this morning but she said not to worry because she had a tent. She also had a water heater which she attached to my spigot and a dryer and a vacuum cleaner (or maybe a shop vac, I only heard it, didn't see it). The dog loved her on sight and tried to jump out of the car to get to her. That is, until he heard the word "bath," at which point he tried to hide. But he acquiesced readily to her control and didn't give her any trouble. She went over the details of what I wanted and showed me the different lengths for the cutting implement. She also had some pics so I could sort of pick out what I wanted. For example, she asked if I wanted his head "teddy bear style" and I didn't know what that was, so she showed me (it's round, and I said no). Then she told me about how much it would be (more if your dog is extremely difficult or bites or whatnot). She worked for more than 4 hours straight on my dog. No breaks. In the rain. She did an excellent job. She also showed me where he had a scratch on his leg and gave me some brushing tips (he was a bit matted in the armpits). He is very very evenly groomed and his paws are perfectly rounded like little clouds.When he was done, she asked me if I wanted to modify anything. I did not. And I had a sick kid at home and all I did was hang out inside all morning, tending to her and working. Convenient! I hired Linda with All Fur Pooch to come to my home and care for my 15 year old cat, Meisha, while I traveled to the UK for 4 weeks on business. We were worried about going on vacation and leaving our "little ones" for a week, but figured that they would be happier at home than being boarded. As soon as we met with Linda, we both felt at ease, as she is responsible, professional, efficient and takes her job seriously. She went through all the dates we'd be gone, and let us know what times she could come by to feed and walk the dogs. Also, she handled our dogs with no problem, even though they can be a bit feisty. She has great techniques for dealing with animals. While we were gone, she sent us daily texts and pictures of our dogs, which made us feel less guilty for being gone. We really didn't have to worry at all. And as part of her services, she will water plants, bring in the mail, rotate blinds, take out trash, or whatever else a homeowner needs. It makes it a lot easier to go away! A short time after we returned from our trip, since Linda had handled our dogs so well, we decided to take them to her for grooming, instead of to Petco where we usually go. Our dogs were better behaved with Linda, because she paid a lot of attention to them, and gave them a lot of one-on-one time, whereas being in a pet store can be distracting because of all the noise and other animals being groomed. Seriously, our dogs never looked cleaner! I couldn't believe that she could trim our dog's nails, without a muzzle being needed for the dogs (they hate their nails being groomed!). My previous experience with Linda were good. Unfortunately, my last experience was way below par. I asked Linda to trim Bella's bangs and the hair on her crown. I asked that her bangs be trimmed to meet her nose so that it would not fall into her mouth. When I came out to see Bella; her 'bangs' when dried came to an inch higher; so short in fact that I cannot even make it into a topknot. When I mentioned the length, Linda insisted that it 'met her nose'. Not wanting to argue, I didn't persist. For the next 2 weeks, I became increasingly unhappy with both the short length & how choppy it was along with the choppy cut over the rest of her crown. I texted Linda about these & she chose to ignore it. I guess this was the first time that Linda had trimmed her crown hair though I thought she had before as I've requested minor trims all over. I'm extremely unsatisfied with the latest cut and Linda's reaction to customer dissatisfaction. Paying $60 for the wash/cut + $10 for tip to get a hacked hair cut is definitely not worth it; especially since I had to pay for another full cut to correct what Linda did. Plus she didn't even show up for the original appointment that we made 4 weeks in advance & had to reschedule. Had Linda made any apologies, offered to rectify, or even admit that the cut came out shorter than requested; we could have possibly worked it out. Because of the way Linda reacted, I wouldn't trust her to touch my Bella again. If someone won't even admit to making a simple mistake, how can you trust their work? read more
