We moved from Merced to the Bay Area and overall had a very good experience. We worked with Manuel and Aaron and they were both fast, careful, and very flexible and helpful. Carlos was great to talk to and gave us a great rate. Would absolutely move with them again. However, after the initial quote we needed to push our start time back and were only able to get a hold of the "lead salesperson" (we did not get her name). We called twice and each time she reassured us she would pass the message along, but it seems no one was made aware because the moving team arrived at the wrong time. At the same time, she created confusion about our quoted rate as well as other details regarding our move that had already been ironed out with Carlos. She was absolutely unhelpful and only made our move more stressful. read more

I contacted them for piano moving. It was delivered. All in a day was paid. I was not there to receive yet I had prepared the piano to so it would be moved with all the music scrolls in boxes - the piano was in pristine condition. I arrive home the wheel is broken I call Carlos up. He was reasoning with me its an old piano and its ok blah blah. They will send someone to come check and fix it I'm ok with that. I'm not sure where it went sour but a lady from all in a day called saying she was small claims and nagged me. Then I just decided to get some of the money back and get someone to fix it. I hired All In A Day Moving Services to assist in a move between houses less than five minutes' drive apart so I didn't have to take PTO and could continue WFH. We were quoted a certain price and a certain amount of hours for what should have been a pretty standard move. We moved from a two bedroom 1 bath. I noticed the move was taking a lot longer than I anticipated and when the movers brought boxes to the office in my new house where I was working, one of them reeked of alcohol. After speaking to my husband, he let me know that one mover showed up drunk and refused to help lift certain items that morning. The other mover told my husband that he also noticed he was drunk, apologized, and called for a backup mover. I understand things happen and I have empathy for people. I let the move go on as planned despite how it started off, only to be shocked when we were charged DOUBLE what we were quoted. I see in my husband's review that the owner is claiming the man was suffering a diabetic attack and completed the job anyway. That's unacceptable. (Also if that WERE true, I'm shocked the company wouldn't ensure their employee received proper medical attention!) Four adults who were there during the move, including one of All In A Day's employees, witnessed and smelled the mover's drunkenness. I assumed there would be some sort of discount or something to compensate so being charged double was adding insult to injury. So not only did this company send a drunk mover, charge double the quote since he made it take so long, but the owner also called my husband a liar for his review. I regret trusting this company with our move and will just take the PTO and do it myself next time. Edit: You definitely can't call a final cost that's DOUBLE the quote an "intelligent" guess. It was double because the drunk mover took too long. Misleading, definitely. The owner's response to negative reviews (flat out denial, calling customers liars, implying that we're cheap) tells you not to expect integrity or professionalism from this company. read more

I haven't actually used this company BUT I was in a situation where I had hired another company which was supposed to arrive at 9 am, I called All in a day @ 1 pm because the movers I did hire still hadn't shown. Well all in a day understood my need and was quick to help! They were able to book me for the very next day for my short notice emergency! I was soooo relieved. Frank and Cody are the dynamic duo! This team arrived on time, communicated with each other very well, and had my mom's apartment moved in a couple of hours. They were clean, organized, respectful, optimistic, and very hard workers. They were hustling in the 90 degree weather - no joke! Shelly answered my call and provided the quote based on some Q&A. The quote came in slightly lower than a competitor and I decided to go with it because of Shelly's responsiveness over the phone (instead of waiting around for someone to do a physical walk-through before they could give me a quote.) The owner called me the day before our scheduled move to confirm the date and time, which I appreciated. Also, All in a Day was available with my short time-frame and they were local to the area my mom was moving so I felt comfortable with their knowledge of the general location. They finished well under the minimum time quoted to me, but that's OK. There was no way my cousins and I were going to be able to move my mom's stuff in the hellish heat of the Central Valley and Frank and Cody worked their A's off so it was worth it to me. We moved business locations and Carlos was kind enough to book our moving day when we needed help, which was the following day. Manuel, Angelo and Frank were our movers and they handled everything with speed and were very mindful and careful with our things. They also helped us pack the items and made sure everything stayed organized with the correct labels on the boxes so unpacking would be smoother for us. When we got to our new office, they made sure to put everything where we wanted. They put back together the larger furniture and made sure to put the labeled boxes in the correct areas. the following review reflects my initial experience communicating with this company. your experience may differ. i have ten small pieces of furniture to move from my garage to a local storage unit about two miles away. while i have received quotes from three companies in the $400 - $700 range, all in a day quoted $1700. that is three and four times higher than three other companies. given the entire small move would probably only take 1.5 - 2 hours, the price is high in comparison, but if that's their price, i can move on to another company. at the time a potential customer first interacts with a company, that is the beginning of the customer experience. a potential customer may or may not hire a company based on how that first interaction goes. even if an initial communication is all that has transpired, if the experience is poor, including if the price quoted will not work for any reason, including that it does not seem to be within the standard price range of the industry for the same work, the experience has still taken place and a review of that experience is warranted so other potential customers can determine if that is the sort of interaction they are willing to experience themselves. that is the purpose of a review platform. yelp collects consumer feedback and makes that feedback available to the public. participation is voluntary. the bigger issue here, however, is not the price. if a quote for a job is too high, we can easily ignore it and go with a lower quote. the more important reason for writing this review is that the company didn't like my comment, so they threatened me. that is a clear violation of yelp's terms of service, and it is a blatantly unethical way to conduct business. in my opinion, under no circumstance is it reasonable to hire anybody who threatens potential or existing customers. following are copies of their threats as well as a copy of yelp's terms of service regarding putting pressure on yelp users to remove their reviews. * update: as you can see, i have received yet another threat from this company, which i will add to the photos. i will also add their quote which invalidates their claim of slander/libel (both involve making false statements, and as you can see in the attached images, my statements are accurate and true). read more

The fairest review is as such: They were professional when moving stuff out of my old house in Merced. They were very unprofessional when unloading and placing my stuff in my new place in another city. Agreed to have four movers to help move in, but only three movers were there. Asked for an increase on the move-in day when we had an agreement already. Agreed to mount our cabinets, oh, well, they mounted only one cabinet, which they did a horrible job leaving multiple stripped screws and badly damaged our drywalls. I had to hire a handyman to fix the mess they made. Besides that, numerous holes and scratches on the drywall were made by movers. Furniture were assembled incorrectly. A painting was damaged. I don't want to criticize the movers as they were short-handed and had to work for longer time. The problem was mainly the management. I figure if you move within or to Merced, it might be a 5-star service because you might hire them again. If you are moving out of Merced, 2 star at most. read more

They showed up on time but it went quickly downhill from there. They were suppose to bring two moving trucks instead they showed up with one moving truck and a passenger truck and a small trailer. EVERY space in my SUV had to also be loaded. I told them everything wasn't going to fit when they arrived and they said "oh yes it will". They definitely weren't trained movers in fact one guy told me he was really a flooring installer and one said that he was really a roofer. They tracked mud in the house and up the carpeted stairs. Rolled their eyes when I asked them to move items placed in the wrong rooms, the boxes were clearly marked, as were the rooms. Going up and down the stairs they marked the walls with their dirty hands. When they left I picked up cigarette butts they left behind. Sorry to say this is the short version, so much more happened. When I sent a letter and they called, they said that the roofer and floor guy no longer worked for them like this was suppose to make me happy. They also accused me of adding more furniture to my storage unit. My house sold and closed escrow and I moved into the storage unit months before this move so there was nothing more to add to the storage unit! Nobody deserves to be treated like this. read more

I scheduled 2 movers for 8:00 am. At 8:00 am, I received a call from one of the movers stating that they couldn't make it because the other mover didn't show up and he was their ride. I called the owner who said he was at another job, but he would handle it. At about 8:30, I got a call from one of the movers saying they were on their way and were in Modesto (about 35 minutes away from where I lived). I was upset and told them I had a moving crew to unload on the other side of a 2 hour move and they were scheduled for a certain time. The mover told me, "If you're going to have an attitude, we won't come at all." At that point I felt that I had to apologize and beg for the movers to come... I definitely shouldn't have had to apologize or beg. The movers were nearly 2 hours late and one of the movers told me they were just friends of the owner and were doing him and me a favor.
