Meathead movers are GREAT at loading and unloading boxes and furniture. They're very friendly, fast and efficient when it comes to that. Nearly every piece of furniture was wrapped in a moving blanket and nothing was scratched. All of our wall art and TV's were carefully packed and arrived in perfect shape. But I do NOT recommend them for packing your boxes! We hired them to pack our entire house on 3/10/26. They left many things unpacked that day and the crew who came to load everything the next day had to finish the packing. The young man who packed our kitchen did a great job, better than I would have done. Nothing was broken when we unpacked the boxes and every box was labeled correctly and thoroughly. But the rest of the house was packed horribly! Random items from separate rooms were put together in the same box. Some breakable items weren't even wrapped. The huge wardrobe boxes were used for very big and heavy items instead of our clothes. And some of our clothes that were on hangers were just shoved in boxes with other things without being folded. Some of our curtains were wadded up and used in a box like packing paper, making them extremely wrinkled. My mattress pad was wadded up and shoved in a box that was way too small and the box wasn't even closed! (See photo.) Many of the boxes weren't labeled at all, and some were actually labeled incorrectly, so when they were unloaded, they were placed in the wrong room, making us look for days to find our things. We have had to open every single box to figure out where it belongs. We have moved several times, but we have never seen such a sloppy packing job! My teenagers packed better than these guys did! We have been in our new home for a week now, and we're still trying to find things. If you plan to pack your own boxes, these guys are great at moving them. This review of a one star is strictly based on the operations/communication side of the company. The movers themselves were fantastic! We were getting quotes a month ago when we found out we were moving. We spoke to a rep named Marc and spent about 45min on the phone call. My husband specifically stated that I was pregnant therefore we want to hire someone who will PACK and move us. We spent 45 min going through inventory of our entire home. The rep, Marc explained how the main things we needed to do were to take pictures down, and move breakables that we didn't want to risk getting broken. He stated they have specific dish boxes that will carry and transport our dishes. We double checked the quote and signed. It stated they were bringing 76 boxes with them on the inventory in our quote. Moving day comes.... The movers get there and state they only move boxes that were previously packed. My husband and I spent the next 6 hours off and on the phone with the manager Jordan. He was unhelpful. He states we didn't pay for the "box bundle". We had never even heard that term. Marc never mentioned that term on the phone. Per Jordan and 2 other reps I spoke with on the phone that day that were also not helpful stated "oh yeah you didn't buy the box bundle" and claimed they would listen to the recorded conversation my husband had with Marc for the original quote. No one was answering our questions, honestly no one seemed to care. I don't even think anyone listened to the true conversation because every time I brought up specific phrases that my husband asked and Marc responded to all they said was "it's a misunderstanding". I was very upset, I was 32 weeks pregnant at the time and had to go back and forth to my old house and finish packing my House for the next week because the job wasn't done. One of the reps said he would try and get that cost covered and send out someone to get the rest of our stuff, then my husband called another rep and they said no they can't do that. The communication or LACK of was so unprofessional. The manager Jordan did not once try and make it right or help the situation. I even sent him the quote to read and he had no answer for me. We ended up having to pay the max amount until my husband called after he wrote the check saying we could get a little bit off since they didn't even move the amount of boxes Marc quoted us at. Worst moving experience, and we have used 2 other moving companies in the last 7 years. Meathead Movers sent 3 movers (one mentor and 2 inexperienced movers). The initial estimated moving time was 3-4 hours, they eventually took NINE hours (and included the one hour lunchtime when they were resting; which we bought complimentary lunch for the movers, but they decided to charge us one hour of moving cost ($400 hourly rate). They also dropped 3 boxes on the ground from the handtruck; we have still yet to examine the inside of boxes for broken glass or damaged electronics. We had just moved to Fresno three months ago and used another moving company called Yolo Moving Company, who only took four hours to load AND unload the same amount of furniture and belongings: We have the SAME amount of belongings, if not less, since we donated a whole truckload of furniture since then a month ago. The movers were inexperienced and were so slow that it took them nine hours to move to a house 2 blocks away. The initial estimated time was 3-4 hours and the estimated cost was $1300, maximum $1600. After nine hours they told us that the price would be increased to $2300. The next morning I get a bill for $2700. That is UNETHICAL business practice for sending unprofessional and inexperienced movers, and upcharging us extra time because they don't know how to pack, load and unload. If Yolo Moving Company only took four hours, why is Meathead Movers needing nine hours to pack and pack the same amount of belongings? Also the final bill we got was doubled of what the estimated cost was ($2700 instead of $1300). We were also generous and gracious enough to buy lunch for all 3 movers, free of charge, and in exchange, they decide to charge us an extra 1 hour for lunchtime, which is $400/ hour. I think the rest of the community and other clients need to know about this before they book this company. I think Better Business Bureau needs to know about this unethical business practice. Extremely Disappointed - Unprofessional and Stressful Experience We scheduled movers for 7/18 at 11:00 AM. No one showed up, and we didn't receive a call until 11:15--only to be told the crew had called in sick. The move was rescheduled for the next day, 7/19. When the team finally arrived, the lead mover, Ricardo, was shockingly unprofessional. Rather than offering solutions or assessing what could be moved, he was confrontational, raised his voice, and focused on what he wouldn't do. His tone and attitude were dismissive and completely inappropriate--you could tell he had no interest in being there. The team ultimately walked out on us, leaving the job unfinished and us completely stuck. I missed two days of work trying to coordinate with this company, only to be met with poor communication, zero accountability, and a complete lack of professionalism. Moving is already stressful--this experience made it far worse. The staff clearly needs training in basic customer service and respectful communication. I would not recommend this company. read more

Ended up leaving us completely desperate bc we had less than 24 hours to find someone to move our daughter from her college home. (we live over 400 miles away). We did not have a good experience with Meathead Movers. For one, the sales office did not give the movers big enough trucks to move all of our stuff. We moved from Visalia to Reedley and I had a make multiple trips between those cities on moving day to get all of our stuff to our new house. We also needed the help of family and friends to haul about 5 or 6 truckloads of stuff to our house. The movers just left the stuff behind for us to move. They also left some rather large and important items off of the priority list (which we specified on the video walkthrough no less!) so we had to call the sales office to get authorization for them to move those items. Also, while the movers were friendly and mostly did a good job, they still broke two pieces of furniture, one of which was my desk which I use for work. And in spite of all that, they still charged us the maximum rate for the day. We filed claims for the furniture they broke, we will see if any of that gets covered. They sent college students to do a man's job and they couldn't handle it. A guy named Matthew was complaining and whining the minute he walked in the door. He said the house wasn't clean enough for him to work in. Cleaning is usually done after the move, not before. The other 2 guys were hard at work and would have continued except the driver cancelled and the other 2 couldn't drive. Was the most unprofessional performance I have ever encountered. Another handyman was there my sister hired for a fraction of the price and did the work all by himself with no problems or complaints. He also thought they were acting childish and unprofessional. I was drawn to try this mover because its hundreds of reviews. Again, it proofs that just because you have hundreds of reviews would make it the best choice to do business with. Not only would it be difficult to communicate due to their mistake of giving out wrong email address to send photos but they itemize things to move. Honestly really disappointed in the service provided. We paid for 2 movers for 3 hours. We had a large trailer that we had reserved 17" for which we believed was AMPLE space for all of our stuff. At about 10" in they started just throwing things into the truck and cost us an extra $500 for taking 21" up in the trailer. Neither one of them knew how to set up the ramp for the trailer, and at least one of the movers was completely new with limited training and supervision. They threw our carbon bikes on top of a pile of tv and computer monitors and haphazardly "organized" our furniture in a way that caused 90% of our furniture to get scratched. Tables were set on end so that the legs were loosened during the move. Our treadmill was placed on its SIDE which has resulted in it breaking (we were taking care to not have to replace this during the move and will now need to shell out $1000+ to replace). My great grandmothers wooden rocking chair was scratched, along with other precious items that are irreplaceable being damaged. When we got to our destination and another company was unloading the items (with so much care!) they kept insisting that our items could have been packed in less than 15". Which would have saved us money on an already expensive move. So not only did we have to pay $500 for the extra space, we now have to go through all of our items and replace them (if possible). I'm so impossibly frustrated at the lack of care that this company had with our items and will never use them again or recommend them. Update: emailed them directly after seeing the below message and have yet to hear back from them. Everyday noticing more and more things as broken and scratched. read more

I really don't like to leave negative reviews but felt compelled to do so in this case. First off, if I could rate the actual crew who helped me move and the company separately I would. With that being said, here goes... I made a reservation 4-6 weeks in advance for 2 movers to help unload a U-Haul on a Saturday at 9 am. I called a week prior to my move in date to ask if I needed to bring a hand truck, moving blankets, etc. I was informed on the phone that Meathead Movers are a professional full service company and would provide all necessary equipment and tools. Great. Cool. That works for me. At 9:10, I still hadn't gotten a phone call (they are supposed to call 30 minutes prior to showing up at your location). I called the company and after phone shuffling, I was told that the supervisor in charge of my move didn't show and they were dispatching a replacement. They said my team should arrive in about 20-30 minutes and they would contact me. I asked, since the company was late, if I could or would receive any compensation, an extra hour or a percentage off my bill. Nope. Nothing. I got told that I had the movers for a minimum of 2 hours and there was nothing they could do. Lol. Are you kidding me. But wait, it gets better. My crew did show up, at 10am. They were super apologetic, which I appreciated. One crew member went over the paperwork with me and they got straight to work. Now I have to give it to them, they hustled! They cleared that U-hual in about 40 minutes. They however, did not bring the full service package I was told. No hand truck, no moving blankets, no tools. I get that they had to scramble in order to make up for someone else's mishap. I don't put blame on them. Marco and Alex were great. But honestly, it's the way the company handled the situation. I felt like I got the bare minimum and not even that. To be told that this doesn't happen very often and to not be at least given an extra hour free of charge or anything for that matter, is pretty shitty. Normally I wouldn't take to social media for such nonsense, but this is worth the time. My husband and I have previously used Meathead to unpack a trip from Glendora to Clovis. The team was knowledgeable, thorough and skilled, and were worth every penny. When we decided we needed to move our 3200 sqft home from Clovis back to Southern California, we chose Meathead over other local outfits based on their experience. We met Michael Bronze at our home, he assessed our property, and originally quoted us over $9500. After negotiating, we decided to rent a 20' U-haul, and Meathead would bring (2) 26-foot Meathead trucks plus 7 movers to pack, all estimated at a bit over $8K. In order to coordinate this, we needed Meathead to pack two specific rooms into the Uhaul, and we planned to drive that truck and meet a separate team of unpackers at 4pm at our new destination. At 9:07 we get the call from the team lead (Alex) stating that start time was 9:45a, but they were going to be late, as they needed to gas up their trucks. They ultimately arrived just before 10:15a. We then gave the team direction three times on which two rooms to pack, and then to fill any remaining space with boxes from the garage. At noon, my son and husband took off for Southern California with the lightly-packed Uhaul (team wasn't able to place more in the truck as they were originally late, and we were out of time,) leaving me to work with the team to finish the house. This is where it all unraveled. at 2pm, the team started "working" on the dryer, and after 30 minutes claimed that they were going to need to leave it, as they couldn't disconnect the gas hose. My husband called the nearest "man" we could find, who came over and disconnected the hose in two minutes. Shortly after, the Team Lead mentioned that "they were out of time" and were going to have to leave what was just about 1 room worth of furniture and belongings around the house. The team not only wanted to get out with the least work possible, but they didn't know how to cube a truck. As you'll see by pictures, neither truck was above one layer of items. We called the original estimator to complain and determine what alternatives we had; the best he could offer was to have another team pick up our stuff and store it at their facility, and deliver it five days later, at my expense. Having no options, we had to choose this. To make things worse, when my husband and son got to Los Angeles with their load, they find out the following: o The parts to my sons bed to bracket and tighten the supports for the mattress were nowhere to be found o Neither of the two rooms we designated as needing to be moved were completely moved o To our surprise, the headboard to the bed from the master bedroom was included, which seemed "odd" but we didn't know why, just yet. Next day is "unpack" day with Meathead: * Alex called just before 10a mentioning that they were 20 minutes late; they ended up 30 minutes late. * The unpack went horribly: - The team lead and my son almost came to blows over a rediculous accusation that our son was "threatening" the team with a serrated kitchen knife he had been using to cut plastic from his couches. - First attempt at trickery was that the guys said they couldn't find the parts to the guest bedroom bed, and would have to leave it as-is. My Sister started hunting and found the parts in a complete separate room where they had no business being. At least we got them to put this bed together. * As soon as my husband and son left to take the Uhaul back, the Team Lead packed up the team and started closing the trucks, and said "they were out of time and were leaving." Despite multiple promises to put the remaining beds together and connect the washer and dryer, they conveniently "couldn't find" the parts to the master bed and other bed, blamed the previous nights "Uhaul unpack" for losing the parts, packed up and left without so much as a "thank you." Later I found the parts to connect the beds open and laid on another out-of-the-way piece of furniture. Long story short, despite many issues, we still tipped the team $800 as we felt the ineptness of the Team Lead should not have punished the others. We have sent multiple emails to executives within the company, with the only response coming from a Director who wanted to plan a lessons learned meeting with his teams. No offers to "own" the problem, no offer of discounts, just defense of their team members. Can't say enough bad about this team from Fresno, but am more disappointed in the exec leadership of this company. They filtered my comments from their "honest feedback" website which simply stated these similar facts. DO NOT jeopardize your move with this outfit! read more

They prioritized speed and made sure to keep in touch about their arrival times and lunch break. My husband Jared hired Meathead Movers to move us from our 2nd story apartment in Lodi, CA to a nearby townhome. They drove up all the way from Fresno and made it to our apartment even earlier than expected. Our movers, Alexis and Arvell (I hope I'm remembering their names correctly!) were AMAZING! They wrapped all of our furniture and managed to get it all down the stairs and into the truck with no problem and in record time! Whatever you DO NOT even remotely consider hiring this company! Everything they advertise is completely misleading from helping to move victims of Domestic Violence/Stalking for free to ensuring your items are loaded and moved in a professional manner free from damage upon arrival at your new destination. My son and I were both victims of stalking and made Meathead Movers aware of this upon the initial consultation. We offered to show any documentation needed to support our claim police reports (at least 30) etc. but they completely disregarded anything we had to say about our situation. I am a single 58 year old mother with an 18 year old child victims of such a horrific stalking situation they were throwing dog feces at our home, literally running my son off the road crashing into him attacking him physically and verbally in restaurants, stores etc. so much so I literally uprooted my entire life of 50 years in California to a state clear across the other side of the map just to save my baby's life. Meatheads did not give a hoot and offered nothing not a discount NOTHING! Proving everything they say in regards to helping Domestic Violence victims a big fat lie! They also showed how not only greedy they are but heartless as well. They loaded my belongings into our storage POD completely unprofessional loading our light totes on the bottom and heavy totes on top thereby causing the totes to shift and cave in causing damage to our headboard and an angel that was given to my son by his late grandfather. When sending in proof of the damage their response was, "Oh it's only cosmetic there is nothing we can do." Try telling that to an 18 year old child who has just been driven out of his home state by a stalker who was devastated already. He literally cried when seeing the finger broke off of an heirloom that may have not meant anything to Meatheads but meant the world to my son. They also disassembled my 4,000.00 treadmill exposing the motor scattering all the screws about (they did that with everything by the way) who does that and call themselves professional? All hardware is supposed to be taped on whatever it came off of. This company stands for anything but honesty and integrity like they try to portray more like deceptive, greedy and taking advantage of people by charging an arm and a leg for shoddy work. That's the whole purpose for hiring movers is so your stuff doesn't get all banged up. Asked questions if they had them and doubled checked how and where I wanted things. Were very polite and appreciative of the water and lunch we provided to them. They went above and beyond helping with things that may not have been in the original contract but clearly things we needed help with. They kept asking if there was anything else they could do. They told us up front what the maximum charge would be and since we fully expected to pay the full price, which anyone should, we were pleasantly surprised when it wasn't quite as much as we thought. On the administrative side, I feel that they overestimated the time required and therefore put a higher minimum charge than was necessary (movers ended up working so efficiently that we ended an hour early) which was unfortunate, but I guess it's hard to accurately predict. Overall, definitely way more expensive than some of the other quotes I got, but it was nice to have the peace of mind that my belongings were in good hands - literally. The next time I have to move, I will definitely be using them again, though I will try and lower the minimum cost by having a more accurate time of work. read more

This place sounds like a scam. I called for a quote to move my studio apartment's amount of stuff from San Francisco to Fresno and was quoted nearly $4,000 on the phone, which was 3x the price I had been quoted at other places. Definitely worth it to call around... read more

They were very careful with my items to be moved. They made sure no scratches on my floor or walls. Very patient to me since i could not make up my mind which rooms to place my bed and dresser. Jason and Ricardo were so kind and very much helpful. They made me feel safe having strangers in my house. I would definitely hire them again if i need some movings to do. read more

We used Meatmovers in our move on July 3rd 2024 and they did a horrible job. They said they would send 8 guys and sent 4 guys. One of the guys said no one wanted to work so they were short handed. They arrived late and took so so long and didn't arrive to the new house less than a mile away until 6:00pm and were tired and throwing our pillows for the outdoor furniture on the ground and left several things on the curb outside. They didn't leave unit 10:00 pm. They quoted a price and charged us $2,000 over the quote and then to top it off broke at least $10,000.00 worth of expensive pots, crystal, 2 mirrors, some outdoor figurines and the list goes on. I called at least 10 times to speak to a manager and they never got back to me, they gave me a complete run around. Finally I spoke to someone to get a claims form to file a claim for all the damage and broken items and they still haven't acknowledged the certified mail forms I mailed back. Next I will contact our attorney. I do not recommend them. I have never made a complaint on yelp but I had to so no one else will be treated this way. read more

Our business contracted Meathead Movers to move to a new office. Their movers, Jonas Gaytan and Salvador Ortega, arrived on time and there was good communication from both the movers and their administrative office. Although the estimate was 3 hours, the total time was 4.5 hours. The movers were careful and attentive to let us know when we would go over the 3 hours. No extra services were completed without our consent. I really appreciate that. This prevents surprise charges. I would recommend their services not just for their excellent service but because they had the most affordable pricing in the central Valley. read more
