We'd save money, have food we liked and all would be grand. Then I started thinking about all the things we'd need to buy/bring/clean-up after and my head nearly exploded. So, I hit up Yelp for some suggestions and started looking around for caterers. Boy, am I glad that I did! I sent in an email and was quick contacted by Lauren Dillon. She was friendly, helpful and professional. We talked about what our event was going to be and what we were looking for and settled on a theme for the food. "Fun, non-fussy, easy to eat" was the order of the day. Within a couple of days, I have a proposal for a menu from Lauren. We had some specific food allergies that we need to work around and Lauren/MFS were super accommodating. On the day of our reception, the 2 staff members were prompt and completely set-up by the time we arrived. We literally had nothing to do! And the staff were fabulous. They took care of everything. They boxed up the leftovers as meals which were "donated" to the staff at our venue. I heard nothing but compliments about the food from our guests. While we may have paid a bit more than we would have doing it ourselves, being able to enjoy my reception without having to worry about refreshing trays or trash duty was worth every penny. I would gladly use Made From Scratch again when planning a larger event!

But, aside from the Covid comments above, how would one know that there was no salt on it until one tasted it, necessitating another trip back to the truck to get salt. The sandwich came out on a toasted brioche bun with the logo branded on it. The sandwich had a fair amount of pork on it but part was warm and part cold. It was chopped up well and had a nice smoky flavor to it. The Mac and cheese was a thicker style but needed a little more flavor to it. Baked beans had a more neutral flavor to them, they added a fair amount of pepper to them to help with flavor. Not bad at all. They were out of cornbread which being open just a couple of hours is unacceptable. I will give them a pass for this visit as they are obviously just getting on their feet. Hopefully it gets better.

I felt the pricing was reasonable (especially in this high inflation time) and the catering servers Pam and Marilyn were so efficient and friendly with setup and cleanup. I honestly can't rate them high enough. I especially appreciated that Taylor reminded me that they would have all food/drink things taken care of and I should focus on having a good time- which I did!

I never heard anything else from them so found another caterer. They wouldn't answer any form of communication. Today, I receive my check back and an u signed note that said to contact the name in the post it note at the phone number provided with questions. I called, but had to leave a voice message although no name or business was given or recording. About half an hour later I got a text message from the person on the sticky note with this message: "Sorry the business closed and the business manager was to get in contact with everyone but guess didn't reach you. Yes we never cashed the check and sorry about everything." Apparently they closed suddenly and don't plan to reopen.
