Vinny is my Bullmastiff that Lisa walks 3 -4 times a week while I am at work. We live in a condo which means Vinny is itching to get out for his exercise. Five stars for Lisa and All Paws Dog Walking Service!!!!! I started looking for help with my 2 black Labradors (2.5 yrs old and 6 months old) after finding out I was expecting my 1st child. I was looking for short-term help as my fiancé & I lived in a condo and would soon be closing on our first home- with a big back yard for the pups! Although my fiancé took the dogs to the dog park every morning, they still needed to get their afternoon energy out. I started by calling & emailing a few places I found on Yelp. Minutes after I emailed a short blurb on the All Paws website, Lisa called me to schedule a meeting. She came by our condo two days later (on a Saturday to accommodate our work schedule) to meet us and our pups. Lisa has such great energy; the dogs immediately took to her, as did we! Lisa came by 4 times a week and walked each dog separately. She would text me pictures of the dogs and let me know how they were progressing. She tried using new leashes and martingales on them instead of the harnesses we had, which helped correct their pulling. She gave us tips on how to correct some of their 'bad' behavior (they are the sweetest pups, but the puppy was a Jumper which is no good for my growing pregnant belly). She also taught the dogs (and US!) "Leave It...Take It" which has been extremely helpful for us so they don't grab for treats and other things they decide they want to chew on (socks, shoes, the garden hose... gotta love Labs!). Lisa also took both dogs to her home a few times to let them play in HER backyard. She got them a kiddie pool to play in on really hot days. When I would come home from work, the dogs were pooped... and HAPPY! I am so thankful that I found Lisa and All Paws. Not only did I get someone I trust to come walk the dogs, I learned a lot from her, as did the dogs. This is my first ever review on Yelp as I've never before been moved to post a review but Lisa is the exception. I discovered Lisa and All Paws on the National Association of Professional Pet Sitter's website. I had just adopted a lab- mix shelter rescue. She was two years old and wasn't potty or leash trained, was terrified of the car and leaving the house. I live alone and work all day and was desperate to find a dog walker who could work with my timid but loving girl. I'm new to the area, so didn't have anyone to ask. I sent out a couple inquires to different people and Lisa responded within the hour and came over the same day for a free meet-n-greet. From the minute she walked in the door, she did everything right and my dog adores her. She is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, caring and most of all responsible. Over the last seven months, she has taken the time and patience to work with my dog's stubbornness and insecurities. Lisa walks my girl 2-3 times a week and has done a couple of overnights lasting up to 10 days. She keeps me updated by any format I like (text, email, phone or old-fashioned hand-written notes) and sends daily pictures and update on overnights stays. She asks questions and consults with me regularly on strategies to continue to build my gal's confidence and improve her behavior. Lisa LOVEs and respects animals and they sense it. She has developed such a bond with both my dog and cat that they hardly notice I'm gone. UPDATE: Lisa has started my dog on off-leash walks with a couple other 'like-minded' dogs. A couple months ago Lisa also took on the job of walking our other dog- who is sometimes a little grouchy- on his own. She has handled his small dog 'tude in the best of ways, and he has grown in leaps and bounds! We used to worry about going out of town and finding someone to watch him because he can be difficult if it isn't clear who is in charge. Last weekend my hubs and I had to attend a wedding out of town and called upon Lisa to take the two pooches for a night. I packed up all their gear and sent them off for a night at "aunt" Lisa's- giving them a stern lecture about minding their manners before sending them off! The next morning I went to pick them up, slightly worried we were going to get blacklisted from the overnight option due to little dogs sneaky peeing in new places and big dogs "bull a china shop" clumsiness. I got to her house to pick them up and found them happily playing in her backyard. Even little dog was playing with the resident chi-weenies! Relief! So much so, that we have started adding little dog to the "fang gang" with the hopes that as long as he meshes well and Lisa can work on his selective hearing he can go on off leash hikes as well! I am a veterinarian and I could have boarded my pets at my hospital or had a variety of co-workers come by to check in on them. However, I have a mastiff and two geriatric cats who do better in their home environment. I wanted to hire a professional who I could count on to come by at regular intervals and tend to them. Lisa cared for our pets while we were on vacation this week and we couldn't be happier with her work. We have 1 dog, 2 cats and 4 chickens and came home to find them all happy and healthy. While that should be the least we would expect from a professional pet sitter, the difference is clear by our animals behavior: Usually, our indoor/outdoor cats express their displeasure at our absence by disappearing for the duration and then punishing us by not showing themselves for a few days after we return. This time however, they greeted Lisa each day and ran to meet us as we arrived home. She has their seal of approval! Our usually nervous pup was also extremely relaxed and content.
