Once the work was done, we would have them then install a runner. We were excited to use Hoffman from all of the amazing examples that they shared on social media of staircases and homes they 'claim' to have renovated. The sales team in the store was as you would expect for a boutique mom & pop shop... an air of pretentiousness in a relatively humble environment. After insulting my wife & I by assuming we were looking for a budget-friendly deal, we ultimately were left to search the store and pick out the runner we wanted. After deciding, we scheduled measurements for the following week. As we attempted to leave, the salesperson insisted on following us out into the parking lot to put samples in our trunk, however, I believe this was a further attempt to 'size-up' our budget based on what we drove. Anthony, the third generation in this family-run business, showed up at my house the following week. He was here for approximately 20 minutes, took the measurements, and advised he would be in touch in about a week once all of the materials were in. He advised everything needed to be special ordered. The job was quoted at $4,000. I accepted. One, two, three, then four weeks go by without hearing from Anthony. As it had been a month, I called the store to find out what the cause of the delay was. They advised that the materials were expected to be in at the end of the week, and apologized for the delay. I was completely understandable, as I was just happy to have Hoffman come do the work in the first place. Afterall, the pictures they continued to share on social media looked amazing. I wanted the same in my house. Three more weeks go by, then I get a call from Anthony saying they are ready to start the work. I was thrilled. Anthony's 'team' showed up on a Friday towards the end of April. They demo'd my existing handrail and newel post. As they went to replace the broken step, they realized that Anthony ordered the wrong thickness, and the correct one would have to be special ordered (again). Given that 8 weeks had already passed, and frustrated, I called Anthony and advised rather than ordering 1-custom step, please replace all steps with standard thickness ones. He apologized and advised that the total cost of the project would now be $6,000. This was still well within my budget so we agreed, and the team would be back the following week to continue the work. The team shows up the following week, rips out all of the stairs, and replaces with 'new' ones, and 'finishes' the handrail/newel post. After two coats of stain, Anthony texted me and advised the project was done and we were ready for Carpet. Here's where the story really gets interesting: --Nothing installed was special ordered and is readily available at Home Depot. --Each of the 11 brand-new stairs they installed had scratch marks, pencil marks, or dents. --The newel post had approximately 50 blemishes from improper sanding/staining. --The balusters were installed upside-down! Then corrected via using glue and wood filler to partially cover all of the knicks and holes they just put in the brand-new materials. ---They did not stain the visible undersides of the new steps --They did not stain the backside of the handrail against the wall --Multiple sharp/jagged edges were left exposed --They did not clean-up their worksite, leaving half eaten fruit in my garage. --They used two different types of balusters after they 'fixed' the original mistake. --They did not come with their own sufficient materials and used my personal table saw/miter saw. --I come to discover that the 'team' Anthony sent to my house had not worked for him before, and were effectively unskilled day laborers. --At no point did Anthony ever come to check on the work. Clearly, Anthony/Hoffman contracted this project out, in an attempt to make quick cash off an unsuspecting customer. I called Anthony and told him to come look at the work. Originally, he was very combative and continually corrected the language I was using to describe the work his team did to my house (if the work looks like ..... it probably is). He tried to persuade me to let him come back and try again, but as he already dragged this process on for 2+ months and had his team at my house 5+ times, I was not interested. Given my dissatisfaction and the clear evidence that he had tried to scam me, he fully refunded my deposit and did not charge me for the work. I didn't want to write/post a review but given that Hoffman is still actively advertising their stair 'services', I felt it necessary to share my experience. p.s. the pictures hardly do justice to how poor the work really is.

Tony, Anthony and Ed are very knowledgeable about the products and give realistic picture of how the project will go. They installed our Villa Borehsie flooring on the kitchen/living room level of home during a kitchen remodel. My wife loved for flooring so much that we brought the team back to put the same flooring down in our ground level family room. The install team was great. They worked clean and got the job done in the time that Anthony estimated it would take. I am glad we went with Hoffman floor and home for our flooring needs and expect to see them soon enough when we are ready to do the bedroom level of our home! Thanks guys!

He gave a very reasonable price for the work and was able to schedule me pretty quickly. He helped me pick out a nice low pile industrial carpet that matched the color scheme of the attic and would be able to stand up to lots of foot traffic by the kids. Dale Jr. came on time to install the carpet and was quite diligent in getting the carpet installed, even though the stairs had some tricky turns and landings. All throughout the process both Dale Sr and Dale Jr were professional, polite and prompt. The stairs look great and I would definitely recommend them to folks who are looking for carpeting work.

He checked our roof and provided us with a reasonable estimate to soft wash the sections. His estimate was very detailed and he included photos showing exactly where he would provide the soft washing. Once the weather improved his team was able to pass by and they finished the job in reasonable time. They did an excellent job - our roof looks great. If this happens again next year - I will call Flawless Finish to clean our roof.

His staff unfortunately follows his lead, even begrudgingly, characterizing this business as having no integrity whatsoever. The most immoral, unethical behavior of the events, is the following. We were elevating the ceiling height in our enclosed front porch. Above the dropped ceiling was space similar to an attic, and the intent was to eradicate the unused attic-like space and raise the ceiling for aesthetic purposes. During the estimate, the project manager moved a ceiling tile, examined and measured, and said the current existing support was more than sufficient for the project, and proper for code purposes. Fast forward several months to the actual construction, the ceiling was demo'd, and then Mike calls and says that he needs to rebuild the rafters. I told him they were thoroughly examined already. He then raised his voice, belligerent and aggressive, and like a thief in the night says that I have two choices - I can either choose to stop construction and cause a significant & timely delay while we await inspections, or I can pay $3000 for one day's work of exchanging the rafters. So, I watched them remove perfectly fine construction, just so they could rob me. His project manager knew it, his office assistant knew it, his crew knew it. he knew it, and we knew it. And it was unscrupulous, despicable, and an entirely sleazy way of squeezing money from good people. I hate to be stereotypical, and hindsight is 20/20 but it added up in the end when I remembered Mike showed up in a $100k car and $200 jeans to give a hardworking family an estimate on modifying their home, one that he ultimately inevitably disregarded for the sake of his own benefit and meager financial gain. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere, read and trust the accounts from other concerned reviewers of this abhorrent, dishonest individual.

The previous company had misplaced pieces if the woodwork, left globs of plaster and paint splattered everywhere and did "repairs" that looked ridiculous and were not completed. Bryan's crew came in as scheduled, replaced the flooring, repainted what had been done poorly and made repairs that looked as though they had always been part of the house. They do wonderful work! Brian is very professional and carefully explains every part of the job to be done. We are already having them come back to complete other work on the house. They are simply the best!

We first met with them and scheduled our job and then had to postpone it for a couple of years after giving them a deposit. Bob returned our deposit even though he didn't have to. When we were once again ready, we didn't hesitate to give them our business. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work and the speed of it. Our bathroom was gutted on May 29 and completed on July 2, 2019. The only thing still to come is the custom shower enclosure. Chris coordinated all the moving parts and was here every day to work and to oversee anything that he didn't do himself (which was not much). He even went the extra mile and tested (and cleaned out!) our drains after installing the sink. This issue had nothing to do with the work he did; it was an existing problem. NJ Remodelers was recommended to us by a friend, and we would gladly recommend them for a kitchen or a bath remodel. We needed help with some of the unusual aspects of the design and Bob fit the bill by giving us lots of options from his years of experience. They are honest, trustworthy, and very communicative at every step of the project. Chris made sure we were satisfied with everything--a trait that I have not seen before with the many contractors I have hired over the years. Every day, Chris was a pleasure to work with due to his cheerful attitude and the fact that he really enjoys his job. He went over everything he had done and was going to do each day. He put up with all my nit-picking without complaint and delivered a beautiful bathroom in a challenging, small space. NJR is generous about passing their contractor's discount along to their customers for tile, fixtures, and anything else that they can buy at a lower price, so the cost is very reasonable and fair. They recommend suppliers who they have relationships with and know are reliable. Chris knows how to keep the project running as smoothly as possible. You won't be sorry if you choose this family business!

Very poor business etiquette. While seemingly nice folks (dad and son), they did not wear masks…read morecoming into our home (of two young children) - NJ Covid rate is at 12%, nor did they remove their shoes (all of our shoes are visibly on racks by the doors), nor wore booties. I even repeated the request as we also just had our master bedroom carpets professionally steam cleaned. They said their boots were clean, and I felt bad as the dad's back was obviously an issue as he used a cane and asked in advance over phone how many stairs there were. Went over a few small quick projects, they said they could do it right away and would get back to me quickly with a quote. I waited, and waited, and five days later I finally reached out to them. Nearly 10 hours later they send me a copy/paste email response that they got a job they bid on and won't be free again until September. It was early November when they came to my house. I can only imagine what kind of service they provide if there were issues with their work on the backend if this is their front end. Highly disappointed in their business etiquette, but perhaps it's a blessing in disguise. Please note that I originally posted a one star rating as I was furious and disappointed in how we were left out in the cold to now have to rush during the holidays (Thanksgiving is in two days) to find a reputable company. The reason for my updating to three stars is simply for the fact that the father had written the attached apology following receipt of my response to them echoing similar disappointment and disapproval in how they mismanaged communication on this.
