PLEASE READ: Do NOT go here. The instructor, Saad, and I agreed to meet up at 12:30 pm, but 30 minutes before our meeting he suddenly texted to change it to 2:15 pm I could not make it since I had other plans. I got fed up because this wasn't the first time he switched the meeting time at the last minute so I called the school to ask if they could switch my instructor. Guess what happened? They told me to pay 40 dollars for the cancellation fee when Saad was the one who repetitively changed the meeting time at the last minute. Additionally, at the end of my first lesson, he pulled out his phone and started filming me, and pressured me to talk about how much of a "great instructor" he was. Not to mention that during the lesson, he played a recorded video of another student complimenting his lesson. He also followed me to my workplace (as I had my work shift just after my driving lesson), and he started to advertise his driving lessons to my co-workers, which also made me feel uncomfortable. Anyhow, in addition to their ridiculous demand of 40 dollars fee, they were very aggressive during the phone call: they completely disregarded my complaints about his unprofessional behaviours and proceeded to shift all the blame onto me. Unprofessional and not organized . Most of my in class I spent were watching same boring videos when even some of them had nothing to do with driving. My teachers super relax making nonsense jokes wasting time on extra long breaks. More jokes came on my first driving lesson where my instructor came 10 min late and made me finish my two hours lesson 5 minutes earlier. When I first get in the car, it was dirty and smelly. My instructor barefoot not wearing his seat belt all the time, and very often he was texting and checking his phone while I was driving. Very disgusting experience. read more

Really not a great driving school. I came for my G test since I'm not 100% confident with reverse parking, I've had a few friends try and teach me, but it just doesn't click in my head. I explained this to the reception, saying I needed someone the was really good at teaching how to park. The lesson that I paid for to go over parking, we parked once, and he just told me when to turn the wheel; he didn't explain anything. After I said I didn't understand what I just did, he said I was fine. On the day of my test, he picked me up, and for some reason, we did my pre-test two cities over from where my test was. I casually asked if he was sure we'd make it on time, and he reassured me it wouldn't be a problem. There ended up being a huge accident on the highway, so we ran late to my test. So late that he made me speed all the way saying, "its ok to go over the speed limit if you're late like we are." At the end of my test, I had to reverse park, which I still didn't know how to do since he never taught me; the moral of the story I failed the parking portion of my test. I paid for 10 lessons up front (don't recommend) and twice the driver, who by the ay was the owners son, (feels he can do want he wants, but you would think have more responsibility for his parents business) cancelled 2 appointments. I wasn't notified in advance but the day of for both appointments I had to notify the driver if he was coming or not. The 2nd text I had sent didn't even get a response. I called the company and asked for a refund of my remaining paid lessons, and c went with another driving school. read more

The saying you get what you pay for is so correct here. Much cheaper than other driving schools because you don't learn much. The in car instructor books all your lessons in a 3 week period instead of spreading them out so you can't practice between lessons. Then they tell you to book your road test in Newmarket, but don't tell you there is an extra charge because of the distance. The office staff is rude. read more

Awful....do not waste your money. We paid for our son to rent their car for his G License. The test was cancelled by the Ministry therefore he had to re-book the road test again. When he re-booked it, he call Malik at All Star in Richmond Hill and said that we would have to pay again because it wasn't his problem that the Ministry cancelled the first time around. Malik also said that he was not going to lose money. So in other words, not only did we pay and not receive the service, but he wanted us to pay AGAIN!!!!! The worst driving school ever. The driving instructors are unprofessional and does not provide you with enough practice on the road to successfully pass the driving exam. I had to change instructors three times because of what unorganized they are. They would often try to pull cheap tricks to waste time. Eg. Talking on their phone, texting, or stopping by at a location to do something else. They would also make you drive to the next student's home and pick them up and have them drive you back home. One of the instructors tried to shorten my driving sessions by 10 minutes. RIDICULOUS. Going to this driving school is putting money down the drain. You're better off at a different driving school if you actually want to learn how to drive. read more

Took a few driving lessons when I was prepping for my G2 road test. Absolutely awful. They take advantage of the fact that you're young and pull shady moves. My driving instructor literally made me drive to the Hillcrest mall parking lot, sit there and wait for 15 minutes while he went and returned something. Also, they make you pick up the next driving student near the end of your lesson. You may be tempted to go here because it is cheaper than other places, but you will be basically throwing your money in the trash. read more

Was not impressed with my daughter's driving instructor Jasmine. In car instructions are one hour but she would end the sessions 10-15 minutes early. She also would make appointments for lessons and cancel them on a regular basis. At times my daughter would be waiting for her to arrive and then she would text and say she can't make it. Very unprofessional. I don't know what the other instructors are like, I don't know if I should take the chance with my other children. read more

I wish had read the reviews before I signed my son up, and not the `testimonials`on their website. It turns out that the driving instructor barely spoke English, which means he was difficult to understand and hence not effective in teaching. As I am driving with my son I see where he is failing and now I am finding out about this communication issue. Of course he failed his G2. Stay away, go with Young Drivers. Absolutely horrible. My driving instructor sat on his phone the entire time, did not give any tips to improve my driving, and took me on the same side-street route throughout my 10 lessons. On the day before my G2 test, they cancelled on me last minute without calling, and could not find anyone else to give me the lesson. Their driver Hamid overcharged a 16 year old girl 3 times and didn't turn the money over to the company and when asked about it lied and said he didn't get the money. Currently receiving driving lessons at the North York location and have never experienced such unprofessionalism. The initial phone call (to the assigned driving instructor) was completely dismissed and he seemed very unorganized in terms of scheduling. Then, the car interior is dirty (along with the sweating odor coming FROM the instructor), and he frequently spends his time on the phone or writing in a notebook. Barely eyeing the road or advising me. Also, he has frequently raised his voice at me and belittled me after making a mistake. For someone like me with bad anxiety, this has been a nightmare. Richmond Hill location. Worst driving school ever! They say first impressions are everything. Well, you'd think people would show a good first impression by actually showing up to their lesson with their students. I have nothing but good things to say about the in-class portion. It was ultimately fantastic. Loved the teacher, and learned so much. The instructors however, are the complete opposite. They are absolutely the most unprofessional people I've NEVER met. This has been the worst driving school I have ever been to. I am not at all a happy customer. I have gone through two instructors since last year in December and I am still waiting to start my first lesson. It is the end of May. The first instructor I had, I messaged to schedule my first lesson. I never got a response. I went to the school and they had told me they were on vacation (why they would give me this instructor in the first place, I'll never know). I then asked for another instructor. This instructor had scheduled my first lesson on a Friday at 9:30 in the morning. I waited three and a half hours but they never showed up. I decided to message them the next day instead to find out if everything was okay, I never got a reply back. I called but no answer, no call back. Nothing! I went back to the school to complain and ask for yet again another instructor. The person I spoke with told me they would call the instructor and have them get a hold of me. They finally called me and scheduled my first lesson again. This time the lesson was scheduled for 10 in the morning, another no show. I waited an hour, texted the instructor at 11, no reply. For the third and last time I went back to the school to complain and I received another instructor. Finally, this one is doing their job. Over all, this place is a major rip-off. Save your money and take it else where. read more

I used All star driving school and passed my G2 at the first attempt. My in-car instructor was Aliya. She is amazing. She took me from not knowing how to move a car to passing my G2 at the first attempt. She is an excellent instructor, very patient, welcoming, always on time, motivating, and will teach you everything you need to know about passing your test and driving in general. My son missed the G2 test due to instructor was later for 45 mins and confronted to the supervisor about the situation she said it's our fault told them the time of the test is from 11:35 to 12:35, they said we should have told them test starts at 11:35am instead. They even blamed us we told them the wrong info test is at 12, so they only rely on what you told them !??? They didn't even realise there isn't a time slot at 12 for the road test!!?? Very difficult to work with, cancelled on my lesson last minute but I had to lose my class (pay for a class I didn't get to do) when I needed to reschedule -- definitely felt I was being taken advantage of. ALLSTAR driving school is a great place to learn about the rules of the roads. The teachers are fantastic. I was guaranteed by Naveed that he would give her lessons three months ago and get her certificate within a month. Instead, he passed my daughter to another person who does not call my daughter back. My experience with the Richmond Hill location of All Star Driving School has been terrible and I do not recommend this company to anyone wishing to learn how to drive. This company shuffled me around three teachers, the first of which was inflexible with timing and unfamiliar with the area he was teaching me. The teacher kept grabbing the wheel from me and did not explain what corrections I needed to make. The second teacher spoke on the phone throughout the duration of all of my classes. In four classes I have not learnt how to reverse, any parking techniques, or three point turn. She just takes me to drive in a big square around the neighbourhood, refusing to teach me the specifics I need to learn for my test, instead is too busy speaking on the phone. Finally, my last teacher said he "lost my tracking sheet" after one class and said if I wished to continue with him I would have to pay cash exceeding what I have already paid to the company! When I originally called requesting a new teacher, the company shared my classes between the two above teachers. The manager was very rude, raising her voice at me and blaming me for the instructor's misconduct. I am currently one week away from my road test, completely ill-equipped and forced to reschedule. I am very disappointed with the service from this company and do not recommend them to anyone! read more

Terrible instructors. I know that I speak for a number of students when I say that Ahmed (one of the driving instructors) is very unprofessional and very ineffective in teaching how to drive. He mumbles his instructions causing confusion and stress on the student. Calls to make lesson appointments 15 minuets before the lesson. On multiple occasions he has called at 11:00 - 12:00 at night to inform me of an appointment he wants to give me the next day at like 7 in the morning. All in all the on road test was a complete waste of time and money. The in vlass course was not any better as the majority of the time was spent with the "teacher" siting on her phone and showing us instructional videos. If you are considering Allstar as a choice the best option would be to take the in class lessons so that your insurance prices will be lower, but DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE THE ON ROAD LESSONS WITH THESE PEOPLE. read more

I would not recommend this driving school particularly the Markham location. You paid the package in advance but your will find it difficult to book the in-car lesson, even you have them booked, the instructor (Navid) always has all sort of reasons to cancel the appointments in the very last minute. Doesn't even deserve a one star. As a "big" driving school company, this one instructor is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. How can they keep instructors like this? I had my car parked by the curb outside my house because my dad had to get the car out in the morning. I go back to my car so I can move it into the driveway/garage, and this one driver's ed car pulls up beside me trying to do a parallel park. I understand the need to practice but right when I'm trying to move my car? I don't think so, I ask him nicely to please not do that here right now as I need to get my car inside the driveway. His exact words were "ahhh just shut up" and he turns to his student "don't worry about him just keep going". I was so amazed at the level of professionalism in his "response". I told him one more time that I am trying to move my car inside my driveway and that he is now blocking my driveway entrance and I demand him to leave else I'm calling the police. I call the police and speak to a local officer and explain the situation to him that the guy is blocking my driveway entrance and will not leave so I cannot move my car into the driveway. The office said he will send a dispatch to come to the situation, and then the driver's ed vehicle drives off. I did not get a picture of anything since my phone was being used to call the police, but good thing my car has dash cam inside so I quickly got in the car and follow until I get the license plate and the instructor/vehicle number. I have filed a complaint to their office and demand an apology, else I'm going to take this to a corporate level. read more
