I'm a local business owner and I rented a blackjack table from All Star Rents for my New Year's Eve party at the end of 2017 and this was the first time I had rented from them. First of all, they called me December 30th an hour before they closed to remind me to come pick up the table. OMG! Airhead me, I had forgotten in my rush to put on my party, that I was supposed to go pick up the table! I rushed over and they were very nice to me. They had big, strong men to lift the table into my truck and couldn't have been nicer. Also, I was pleased that they had what I needed in stock when I ordered it. And I looked around their large building and yard and noticed they have just about any kind of equipment you could need to rent, party rentals, heavy equipment, tools, and an enormous selection in general. Combine that with low pricing and excellent customer service makes them #1 on my list of rental businesses in Chico. read more

I decided one day to create a paver patio in my backyard. On a whim I went to All Star Rents looking for a rototiller. Here are some of the main points: The equipment was available (in February though) They assisted in getting it in the truck They were all polite and helpful I think the price was fair?? I didn't do any comparisons We were in and out quickly without any hassle Returning the equipment was easy For someone that does not typically rent or use equipment like this it was a very pleasant experience. I booked my dance floor for my wedding over a month ago.... Today I get a call saying they overbooked the dance floor and I was the one who got the honor of being screwed over. My cater actually recommended these people to me because they are sooo great. I will make sure to tell all 20 people I recommended to them to cancel or not book at all. I have a whole 93 days till my wedding and no dance floor...... They of course gave me options of other rental companies that are $200 more than what I was paying through them. Poor customer service. This place doesn't stand behind their claim of providing a positive customer experience and satisfaction. Don't rent a walk behind trencher unless you have extremely soft soil and if that's the case, might as well dig with a shovel. The pull string system broke and put me down for 45 mins to which they gave me no time credit for. The trencher was weak and couldn't grab traction. A job that even their guy who came onsite to fix the pulley said should take me no time, took me 4 hours of which I got a quarter of the work done. Poor customer service. Poor equipment. Go United Rentals or Home Depot equipment rentals or anywhere else but here. read more

Horrible customers service. Rented a grill for a graduation serving 50 people. The grill would not heat up hot enough to even cook on it. We ended up cooking on our own BBQ and on our stove. The owner was so rude and held us to the full price of the rental. Would never do business with them again. read more

Rented a popcorn machine for my wife's 30th birthday. It was clean, easy to set up & worked great. They had all the supplies avlb including the popcorn with oil, different seasoning packs & decorative popcorn bags. I was nervous they would charge me extra for not returning it on time because I had to work but when I called them that morning to let them know they were very understanding and said they would not charge me as long as I got it back before the end of the day. Deceiving always read the FINE print. They seemed to be trying to make even more money after we paid almost 4K. My husband and I used them for our wedding and they were super cool when we ordered everything and paid for it in full. We also helped the worker unload the stuff while he tells us AFTER that we didn't have to do that. Then when it was time to return everything they took advantage and didn't even bother to let us know our credit card was being charged for "miscellaneous chargers" they told us we would not be charged a delivery fee if we came and picked up the stuff that wouldn't fit in their truck. That wasn't true $250 later to drive to oroville. If you're going to charge at least be honest. Then their worker told main management that the rented items were scattered all over. Really?! They were in one small barn. Approximately a 20X30 room. The location where we had our wedding unfortunately had no running water and we were honest to let them know. So we were nice enough to take all of the glasses and the things that needed to be washed to our house to wash it. We get a complaint from them saying they were "filthy". Our dishwasher is very new so I don't know how that happened. They also said the dance floor was dirty when I spent the next day as a newlywed scrubbing that darn thing to make sure it was clean. Not only that they couldn't be courteous enough to call the contact we gave them. Instead we kept getting calls from them while we were trying to enjoy our honeymoon. I get that they're running a business but shouldn't the cleaning fee be in their renting prices? If WE have to clean the champagne glasses are you telling me that that's how they rent them out to somebody else. They don't sanitize them again? Very dissatisfied. read more

We used this company for our wedding rentals. One of the items we went with was a margarita machine. On the eve before our wedding my husband and the groomsmen went to pick up the machine and the rest of our order. Nothing was ready they had to go search in several places to grab each of the items. They went over how to run the machine and signed a contract and went on their way. When we returned the margarita machine they said some drip tray was missing. Well this "drip tray" was never included. We are organized people and would have made sure it was all there. I recommended they should have a checklist that is gone over with the customer before they take the items because we are absolutely positive this drip tray was not included. Anyway the owner and I emailed a few times about it and I had never heard back. Well then 2 weeks later she charged my account 27$ for the drip tray but never called me or emailed me that this charge was going to be made to my card. I find that extremely rude to charge somebody 2 weeks later and not let them know...so I called the business and the owner was unavailable so I talked to the gentleman who emailed her to call me. Well it has been another week and she has yet to contact me which is another rude thing to add to this company and how they treat their customers. I just simply wanted a phone call. I have lost respect for them and will never do business here again. read more
