We worked closely with Brett Gibbs from All Weather Decks. He did a superb job listening to our needs, understanding our budget, and proposing an affordable solution. AWD is not the cheapest option but we got 3 bids in total and AWD was in the middle of the 3. That's not why we chose them; in the end, we felt Brett gave us a better design. The construction went very smoothly. They had to tear out a 20 year old wood deck, cut out concrete to set new footings, dig out a retaining wall to add other footings, and pour additional concrete slab (to replace some ugly stone that was under part of our old deck. They were very diligent with everything. It was a mess, but an unavoidable mess. Everything was hauled away very soon after the demo was done. For our new deck AWD installed Deckorators (Voyage) Eovations decking (a PVC based product) and Westbury powder-coated aluminum handrail. We had lights installed on the handrails and an electric circuit installed for a soon-to-be-built-by-the-owner grill island. They also installed a gas line to two spots for a future fire pit and an under-deck space heater. They also installed an aluminum, rain-out under deck ceiling that's been very nice to have. It diverts the rain out from underneath through a downspout in one corner. Keeps it nice and dry underneath the deck. So far it's been a wonderful addition. I like to do carpentry work on the weekend and I just wheel out my table saw or whatever and work underneath, rain or shine. You should definitely consider this option. We had a few issues during the construction that AWD's crews had to address, mainly around the retaining wall. Brett got it all taken care of, always at no additional cost (even though the fix went beyond what was probably expected). Also, we're purchasing our own ceiling fans for underneath the deck and Brett said his guys would come back and install them since they did the pre-wire. So I'm very confident in AWD's follow through on things that inevitably come up on any construction project. So, all in all, my wife and I highly recommend All Weather Decks and, in particular, Brett Gibbs. I'm sure they have others there who are just a good, but Brett's been our guy from start to finish and he responds almost instantaneously to email, phone, text. The quality of workmanship from All Weather Decks is unmatched. We are extremely pleased with the whole team from beginning to end. We received several bids and hired AWD to complete a screened in patio/grill area based on the rendering, interactions with the sales rep, estimated cost, & past reviews (including a personal positive review from family). After meeting with Sales Representative, JD, we were impressed with his precision to detail from our requests, professionalism, and ability to create a vision beyond what we imagined. He was open and communicative with the budget, timeframe, and next steps. We also greatly appreciated the military discount AWD offered. Head of Project Management, Jade went above and beyond with ensuring the project ran smoothly from start to finish and made sure we were informed of each step. We experienced about a 2 week delay due to circumstances outside of AWD's control involving the outside engineering company. This was shared with us the Friday before the project was planned to start the next Monday. Beyond this, we had no issues with communication. Project Manager, Kevin was easy to reach, responsive to inquiries, ensured his team & outside contractors promptly followed up with our feedback, and came to the worksite multiple times throughout the entire process. Once the project started, everything went smoothly and any shifts from the original plan were properly explained, quoted, and handled appropriately. We experienced a couple added expenses after beginning; however, these were provided as possibilities to us prior to signing the contract. Builder, Diego and his team were very respectful, safely parked in the street, and did not require access to our home for bathroom breaks. Each night, they left the area tidy and had a dedicated zone for scraps. We have 3 young kids and were still able to utilize our backyard to play outside. The main cleanup we did each night (our preference) was checking for nails or anything that would be unsafe for our children, which was not excessive. Talk about Quality & Amazing Crew! When we first started with our new covered, screen-in, 13'x20' deck we got 3 bids. One company I worried just from the initial meeting they wouldn't be able to complete the job, another was so over confident I felt like they were just snobbish and would cost a ton of money (I was right, highest bid, and longest turn around!), but Brett at All Weather Decks was awesome right from the start! He could see my vision and had lots of options to help keep the cost reasonable, knowing a project like this could get up there. They turned in the HOA docs for us (SO NICE!) and got the permit with the city. Then when everything was a go they began. The crew was incredibly kind and addressed concerns if I had any throughout the project, jumping on anything that I wanted changed, asking my opinion on anything that could be one way or another. They wanted me to be happy with the finished project and you could tell they have pride in their workmanship. I get compliments on our deck constantly and have had other contractors state how impressed they are with the quality. Throughout the project I was able to work with the crew and Brett in sales, which I have found in a lot of companies the salesman is MIA once a project starts, but not the case here. My request was that the deck be torn down and rebuilt to be totally maintenance free. The entire process was efficient and hassle-free. The sales rep, JD, came over to explain the process, brought samples and answered all my questions in an honest and professional way. JD also answered the phone and returned my calls even after the project was complete. I received the proposal electronically which was customizable to add or subtract certain features and the price would reflect the change. I also appreciated that I could make the payments online. Before the project was to start, the project manager (Alex) called with the start date and gave me his phone number in case I had any questions. Alex also answered the phone when I reached out a few days later to check on something. The crew (Diego and Luis) that built the deck were professional, respectful of my property, hardworking and very pleasant. The result of their work was a beautiful, well-constructed deck. The surrounding landscape and rocks were returned to their original positions and my entire yard was clean of any construction debris. Contacted three highly rated contractors to get bids - All Weather Decks included. One never came back, but the other two were very comparable to each other. As we were discussing various options, Brett at All Weather Decks provided us with enough guidance and flexibility that we decided to go with them. We were very happy with our decision. The process was well scheduled and the cost was close to the original bid even after some added extras we put in there. When any issue arose, we contacted Brett and he would quickly get his crew to address them. We choose to use composite materials on the surface. However, the foundation had to use real wood. It was about this time that pressure treatment of wood had to change. The new process was not as effective as the old method. This could lead to potential wood rot. So in December 2021 we discovered that one half of the support wood for the deck and all the fascia was rotten. The lumber company after some time said they would cover new lumber, but not the labor. Needless to say, AWD stepped up and covered the labor. They said, "The customer has a guarantee with us for quality, labor, and we will stand by you." I got several estimates to have my deck screened. The other companies were bamboozled by an eave and gutter that intruded on both sides of my deck and what would be required to install a door between to widely separated posts. All Weather Decks took it as a routine challenge and came up with perfect and beautiful solutions for both. Every aspect of the job was handled to my complete satisfaction. The workers were professional and the workmanship and materials were top notch. The foreman for the job, Armando, and the lead technician, Manuel, both did an excellent job communicating with us on the aspects of the job that required judgment and choices on our part. Dec. 3, 2019- Steve and his crews were outstanding. They took my simple project and turned it into a show stopper for me. They went over and above, tore off my old wooden deck, poured a gorgeous concrete patio, built a lovely stairway down from my back slider door, added Black Steel railings on both sides of the stairway and it's perfection. We hired All Weather Decks ("AWD") to construct a complete makeover from an old wood deck. We worked with Brett to create a seasonal room designed with multiple large windows to overlook the lake area, along with an open composite (Deckorators-Voyage) deck with a staircase that led down to the open patio. The footing and deck posts were covered with a stone veneer. The construction went well. We experienced a few issues such as clean-up and a damaged door, but they were timely addressed. This is a great company. They did an outstanding job. Management is outstanding. Crew was unbelievable. They replaced a deck with Azek and then added a ceiling with fan underneath the deck. It was done with outstanding professionalism and care to satisfy the customers wishes. Even developed a sliding barn door for our pool equipment. Alex did a great job. That was two years ago. This year we had a problem with lights under the deck. I called and Armondo responded and fixed the problem. Service like that in this day and age just does not happen.
