Under new owners of Suntex. I have had a slip at this marina for MANY years and the quality of service and property security, safety and facility management has only gotten worse under the new owners. Not only is there a severely damaged break wall that allows for waves to rock our boat violently and we are almost to the shore end of the dock, but, they do very little improvements for the boaters. Almost all improvements are directed to the campers of the marina/resort which leaves the boat owners that have slips way down their list of priorities. Historically we would get a 5% annual increase for slip fees and discounts if you paid the entire annual fee up front in cash. This year they have gone up 7% with no incentive to pay in full with the new contract they are forcing the slip owners to sign that will have long term boat owners and slip renters to pay the same as any new customer in 2024. This is a 50% increase for many long term Allatoona Landing customers. Customers that have stuck it out here for many years when we could have gone to cheaper marinas. The sad part is, everyone knows they only reason they are increasing like they are is because slips on this lake are almost all taken and we are stuck. We love the lake, the friends we have made on the dock and lake, but not sure we can afford a 50% increase of slip fees next year. IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and do not give Suntex a dime of your money! This place was just okay. Very crowded. Pavement was very buckled and uneven on the site. Girls in the store were all very nice. Tried to rent a boat across the way but of course they were all booked. Our fault no fault of the campground. Beach is nonexistent. Nobody Was there. Didn't look very nice. I don't know. Won't go back again. Had some issue with some drunks in the morning which made me uncomfortable the day we got there but was never an issue afterwards. read more

About as unhelpful as people can get. Crystal was pretty rude. I asked about a 1 night rate and she refused. she told me she has seasonal rates but then said "honestly I would rather not give you a slip when I could give it to somebody else for an annual contract". I then asked about regular rates. she said that they are for boats up to 24'. I explained that my boat was 24' and 6" as she said that would not work. She did not bother to give me bigger slip rates and that no overhang was allowed at all. My parents had a 35' slip there years ago and said they/she has always been a pain to deal with. Meeting up with my buddy this weekend, as soon as I said Crystal's name, he and his wife went off about how rude and authoritarian she is. I am in the market for a long term slip but after my discussion with her, Ill definitely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

This review is for those interested in renting the "cabins", not the folks taking their RV. If you like doors without locks, children's bedrooms with no blinds or window treatments so anyone can look in, the stench of cigarettes, and unavailable management after 5pm, this place is for you! We planned on staying in cabin 5, or 5c, close to the main gate. When we first stepped inside the repugnant smell of cigarettes soaked into the fabric recliner for what had to of been years of ash based marination, curled our nose hairs. If you're not a smoker, you know what I'm talking about. I unloaded our luggage and checked all the doors as most people would do. The sliding glass door has no lock! In place of a lock, at a place called "resort", was a half broken broom handle in the tracks of the sliding door that did not cover the distance of the track! The door could still open enough to get your hands inside. The children's bedroom was missing one of the three blinds leaving the window open to anyone passing by - did I say this was the children's bedroom?! I reported the security issues immediately. However, management, according to the retired navy security officer, is unavailable after 5pm. He came by and asked what he could. I told him either put a lock on the door and something, anything, to cover the window, or move us to another cabin. He said there were no other cabins available (MI true, cabin 3 was open the whole weekend) but would look for a bigger stick. I said if you would have advertised no locks on doors and no blinds on they bedroom, I wouldn't have made a reservation. He refused to put a lock on the door saying he was just security. I said this is about security! Their contract states no firearms allowed so it's not like you can bring your own protection. Without anyone caring about fixing the problem, we packed up and rented a room at the Hampton Inn a few exits away. My in laws stayed at this "resort" as they took their RV and had no issues with the RV set up. We stayed with them during the day, cooked to some s'mores at night then drive back to our expensive hotel room which really takes you out of the allure of the family camping trip by the lake. So, my recommendation is to demolish these 25 year old (per security), dilapidated ruins called cabins and convert them to RV Spots as it seems you can handle the issues pertaining to RVs, just not basic necessities like locks. We did rent a pontoon boat at the marina and that was a great experience... fair price, nice boats. I would also change the name you Allatoona Landing and Cabins "off last resort" because there is absolutely NOTHING about the cannons that were remotely close to any resort, not even in a third world country. Yes, they refunded my money but people should know what they are renting and the best source of information - other consumer reviews! Pictures: Notice how the broom stick doesn't come close to touching the door. I tried to open the door with the stick down and, with a few swift pulls the door would open. The latch in the door has nothing on the frame to attach to. The latch on the frame pictures lines up with the outside track while the slider was on the inside track. The front door has a keypad not a key and based upon everything else I saw at this place I confident they aren't changing the lock combinations between guests. read more

Wow! What a waste of money. This place is advertised as some great resort and you get there and it is shocking. It doubles as half single wide trailer park "which is really weird" and half camp ground. The beach looks to have been abandoned by the owners 10+ years ago, not even fit to be fished from. Don't leave grounds after dark as it sits in middle of very bad looking neighbor. We made it out of there whole but will never return. Will go to Red Top next time, which reminds me I saw no wild life while at ALatoona Landing. Red top is chocked full of deer etc. Choice is clear now, hey you got to learn somehow, I just wished we would have heeded advise of the other posts. -God Bless and happy camping! read more

I love this campground. Security is great! Most campers are frequent campers of the campground. Safe for the kiddos. Pool on site,rec center(needs updating)Nice playground,store and pump service weekly. As for previous reviews-There are a handful of cabin/trailers in one area, not an issue. The only campsites that are gravel are for tents. All others have paved parking pad. They just recently installed new washers and dryers. ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT- #1-The beach area is a mess! Needs a good cleanup and campers could enjoy it, Right now it is sad and such a waste. I remember as a child how nice it once was. #2-Wireless does not work! Most campgrounds in other areas I have been to have decent wifi service. #3-Pine cones need to be cleaned up and gravel added to some lots. read more

Don't waste your time here. Poorly managed, ineffective security, and amature hour on the boat ramp. They oversell their day-passes, meaning the parking lot for trucks/trailers next to the launch ramp is always full. People working on their boats for 30+ minutes ON THE LAUNCH RAMP while management and security does nothing but watch. Inexperienced drivers literally learning how to back up a trailer at the launch ramp while other boaters just watch and have to wait. Not a restroom to speak of aside from a single Porto potty. Find somewhere else. read more

Great views on the peninsula of Lake Allatoona. These amazing views could have made up for the park deficits though in my view were not sufficient to change my overall negative review. There are very few sites that have sewer hook-ups at this park. Every Tuesday, they have a service that costs $25 to dump both gray and black water tanks. Most of the sites are unpaved. Most sites are rather highly sloped. A great many of the sites are unpaved. The restrooms were reasonably clean though not airconditioned. A few of the sites which seemed occupied by longer-term patrons were unkempt with personal belongings. The laundry facility had 3 working, older model, top loading washing machines and 3 very old functioning dryers. Patrons are largely rule-abiding, though they don't enforce the two-vehicle limit rule such that certain areas in the campground seemed like a parking lot. Sadly, I experienced a decidedly agitated patron in the laundry room who offered a direct physical threat. Having sought help from the management office, I was unable to feel comfortable that they would control the agitated man whose profanity and direct physical threats were of great concern. Feeling unsafe, I left the campground early without an offer of an apology by the campground or a refund for the days unused. read more

"Stay away from here if you have pets" Been going to this park for the last 3 yrs frequently. Including Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. We have a 4yr old German Shepherd and a 2 yr old. And always bring them. Well this past weekend we reserved Fri Sat and Sunday. And enjoying our time when were approached by the Manager and was told we needed to leave because under her discretion German Shepherd pets are a vicious breed. I was appalled that over the past 3 yrs in bringing them we never had a problem. Now both our Shepherds are K9 trained service dogs. My wife cried her heart out in the way the Manager treated us to make us leave and I had already prepaid for the next 3 major holidays. So we packed up and left immediately. I could see also the other staff in the office couldn't believe we were asked to leave. Manager said she would refund future paid reservations. Now keep in mind the staff knew us on first name basis. And our pets are very friendly and we never had one complaint in 3 yrs going there. So please stay away from this management they have no compassion for adults nor pets. But when asked for a list of pets not allowed this manager refused to give me a copy. STAY AWAY read more

Train tracks, beware, beach was not maintained at all. Not to many places to take the dogs for a walk without walking on other sites.

We booked Cabin 7 which was horribly misrepresented on their website. Its a 1960's single wide trailer that is a hazard to stay in. None of the windows open, there is no fire extinguisher, the smoke detector was laying on the shelf next to the stove, there were roaches in the bath. The carpet was so dirty my grandsons knees turned black after crawling for only a few minutes. There is no grill. The beach looks like an experimental agriculture project. Security took pleasure in berating my family for fishing off the boat docks even though we had been given permission by another employee. I would not return here or recommend it to anyone.
