I just called , all Brands Creative Sewing -San Antonio The lady that answered the phone was Soooo rude ! I asked if they by any chance they had a pattern for a rag doll ? In a very surly tone she stated NO ! We are a fabric & Quilt shop ! I said I totally understand , however Terry did carry some patterns and thought maybe you did also. I was informed Terry has not owned this shop in over 8 1/2 years !! I have been to this new shop 4 times and the service is much desired if any !! I agree with Mary S. It is very unfortunate that a shop that prided themselves with service and professional staff is no longer available. Also the selection and product availability is vastly reduced. I would drive to Austin before I'd enter their shop again. I would have not added a star except at least one is required !! read more

very big selection of quilting fabrics! most quilting fabrics are more busy than what i'm looking for but they had a lot of more simple fabrics that aren't just solids. they had a lot of the super patterned stuff too though if that's what you need. other than greeting me, asking if i needed help and telling me to let them know if o do need help, the ladies there left me alone. i appreciate that because im not always one for socializing a lot. and when i did need to ask for help, they were very sweet and happy to help. they also put you in their computer along with the id numbers of the fabrics you buy so you can find exactly which one you need more of if you run out! most fabrics there are $10-$12 a yard which is nice read more

Walked around, looking at fabric. No one said anything, although they stared as I walked around. Was finally asked if I needed anything, which was fabric to be cut. When I placed the bolts down, the lady walked off and never came back. We looked over and she was helping another customer. We waited ten minutes and left. I have to say that the service I got from Giselle and Mitzie when I came in was awesome! These ladies really know their stuff. They not only got me the embroidery machine that I wanted but they patiently answers my endless questions, showed me how to use my new machine and gave me ideas for things I didn't even know were a possibility! Tasteless counter service by a woman named Janet. I inquired about maintenance/cleaning on a Jenome machine, I was stunned at the cost, not realizing how much it had increased. I joked that at the price you could buy a new sewing machine. Apparently, she didn't like my humor and responded by saying "you can go to walmart and buy a piece of sh__!" I have never had a retail employee respond with that type language. What was more troubling was that she was very cavalier about the whole situation. I almost felt like she was trying to engage me in an argument. Retail businesses, especially in this environment, DEPEND on good quality customer service. Janet is a senior citizen and should be deeply ashamed by her behavior. The manager didn't appear too concerned as it looked like Janet could eat her lunch. If you want friendly service, go to Hobby Lobby or JoAnn fabrics, where they are educated on how to treat customers. Bad!, Bad! Janet! read more

I absolutely love the Allbrands store. Both times I have gone in there was always someone willing and able to help with all my needs. I was worried that because I'm young they would not want to educate me on their art but it was quite the opposite. I will definitely be going back with all my questions about the new sewing machine and embroidery machine that I bought from them! I also wanted to add that they are service dog friendly from my experience. I brought my service dog in both times I came and had absolutely to accuses issues. Only the occasion "here there puppy" from staff. I'm not one that likes confrontation with little things like that. The women that helped me with my machine decisions I believe is the owner. She was very open to learning about service dogs and asked great questions. Honestly this experience was amazing. read more

Drove a long distance to shop at this store ....And as I opened the door I didn't even step foot into the store and the lady at the door did not ask me and was not nice about it... but blatantly aggressively told me I had to wear a mask. Having worked in a virus lab for 25 years I have chosen not to wear a mask for COVID-19 personal decision. I will not shop at any business that doesn't ask me nicely to put a mask on but demands that I put on a mask. it's my body....my choice . I never even made it into the store because that lady didn't even ask me...she demanded rudely that I put a mask on so I will never drive or step foot in creative sewing center ever. read more

Creative Sewing Center is a great place to get your kicks if fabric, spools of thread and the word Bernina strike your fancy. I had my Singer featherweight repaired there (the third time I tried to use it, I broke the hand wheel) for $70. Apparently a piece of thread had gotten loose in the machine and caused all sorts of mayhem. Dropping off my machine was pretty easy, although I accidentally left the little box with all the extras needles attached to the machine and they made me come back to get that. It took a few weeks to repair the machine. Apparently the hand wheel was on back order, which made me feel good because maybe, just maybe, that meant that the hand wheel might have been deficient, not me. Picking up the machine was relatively easy too, although it seemed like the staff members were very busy and it took a while to get through the line. The staff there were efficient, but not overly friendly, which is fine with me. I have been receiving newsletters from them since I brought my machine in and they offer all sorts of classes, from quilting wall panel to embroidery and beginning sewing. Since my sewing comprehension level is so low, most of the newsletter is like a foreign language to me, but could be useful to others more skilled than I. I did look into a beginning sewing class, but the classes were a little pricey for me ($70 for the class and then $35 for supplies). They also have a great website that includes all their classes, free patterns and lots of other resources. Overall, this place is great if you are into sewing, quilting or anything else of the thread/fabric persuasion. read more

The ladies here are incredibly knowledgeable, curious and helpful. I brought my singer in with a problem I was having (singer is not an allbrands product) they offered to help me diagnose it. They were able to help me stumble upon the problem. They were very curious to know what could be the problem and to see how by singer worked in comparison to the machines they are use to. I picked up some general things here too like a stubby screw. Their prices are reasonable compared to Amazon for these things. I was sooo grateful for these ladies. My husband took me here about 3 years ago so I could pick out my birthday present. I had been wanting a machine to sew heavier fabrics. I ended up choosing a high end Brother machine. It was on sale so we got it for a good price. Not knowing anything about sewing, my husband had been to the store a few times just to do research and he said they were always very helpful and patiently answered all his questions. The day I went, the salesman spent a lot of time with us helping me pick the best machine for me. I told him what I needed it for and he was able to narrow it down to a few machines, he was very knowledgeable about all the products. He gave me a demo on my top 3 picks and then let me set down and sew too. His knowledge, time spent and his willingness to let me use the machine in store made my decision easier and faster. That was 3 years ago and I have had no trouble with anything. It does seem to be a store that you go to buy a machine because I don't remember seeing a selection of fabrics and notions. If I ever need to buy another machine I would return and buy from this store. read more

I wish there was a way to give negative stars. There are a few nice ladies that work there, but all in all, the other reviews about the attitudes and rudeness of the staff are an understatement. The old man who owns it, is the absolute most awful human being in the world. When I tried to pay for the service they did on my machine, he said he would NOT accept my credit card because my signature was not on the back of my credit card. Instead it says "SEE ID" and he would not take it even after showing him my drivers license. He pulled out the 32 page credit card agreement that none of us read wrongly misstating the section regarding the signature. He actually started yelling at me and told me to leave and wouldn't give me my 10k machine that they had just serviced. I ended up having to call the police because he was being so aggressive with me. read more

Wow, I imagine that this place is stocked with all anyone would need for a sewing project? Me though? All I need is someone who knows what they are talking about. I went in to buy the 'insides' of a crib blanket as I already had the fabric to provide to the seamstress we hired. The lady who helped me out was great, she could convert her inches and figure out perimeter faster than I ever could and taught me a few sewing buzzwords that I have since forgotten. I picked up exactly what I needed to bring to the seamstress which was the goal. If you need something for a project, have no worries about walking in here blind. read more

Last year I was in the Blanco Rd. store and swore I would never darken their doors again but I have a Brother machine and it needed servicing. I went to the store off 1604 and I was very surprised to find a knowledgeable and pleasant employee. My machine was serviced in a timely manner and the technician went through it with me. I told them of my experience at Blanco Rd. They assured me changes had been made and asked me to give them another chance. This year my husband bought me several items for Christmas at the Blanco Rd. store. I went in today to make returns and exchanges. I'll admit I wasn't looking forward to the visit. The last time I was there the employees were rude and the store looked like it was going out of business. Today, the store was well stocked and I could see new merchandise had arrived. The two ladies there were very helpful and courteous. I've always loved their fabric selections and found everyone to be helpful so I'm hoping this is how it will be from now on. I had THE BEST experience purchasing a new sewing machine today. I wanted to upgrade my machine and explained to the staff what my needs were. The ladies were friendly, knowledgeable, and so kind. The gentleman that handles repairs came out and blew me away with the wealth of knowledge he has of the machines. I highly recommend this store for machines and fabric. I recently had my Bernini sewing machine repaired at All Brands Creative Sewing Center. They charged me an initial labor fee for estimated labor costs to perform a Major Cleaning and Adjustments. They informed me that this $149 fee was non-refundable. They informed me that this $149 could be used to purchase another machine, in the event my machine was not repairable. When I entered the store today, with my 89-year-old father, they took both of our temperatures, as well as pump hand-sanitizer onto both our hands. When using one of their pens; they directed me to use a newly sanitized pen from a marked container, and then directed me to place my used pen into the "Used Pen" container. The conscious efforts displayed to me on each of my visits, have led me to believe that they are very conscientious about keeping up-to-date with the Established Guidelines to avoid the spreading of COVID. They are putting forth great efforts in their compliance and keeping COVID from spreading among patrons and employees in their store. My machine was repaired as indicated on the work-order. They called to leave me a message about repairing the needle plate and bobbin case. They estimated these repairs to cost approximately $60-$85. However, since I missed the phone call and voicemail, they didn't just repair those items and charge me unauthorized fees. I was very happy with their store hours, the ladies employed by the store, and the exceptional customer service that I received on my repaired machine, questions I had about the new machines for sale, and the details taken to avoid the spreading of the COVID Virus. From the very first phone call to my entering their uber safe, health conscience store, we were treated with respect, kindness and extreme professionalism. We have been thrilled with our purchase and even though we are missing a few things that have not arrived in freight, we are called or emailed each week for an update. In this time of freight and product problems, we understand and are so happy they don't just shut the door on us once we made a very large purchase. This used to be my go-to store. I could always find the fabrics I needed. The staff wasn't as friendly as in other stores but I overlooked that because of the great fabric selection. No longer. I have been going to this store for over ten years. Prices are higher but the selection is great. What's bad are the ladies working there. I have never encountered a bunch of ruder people. Today I walked in to buy a a ruler for embroidery. When I finally got the attention of someone, I was met with indifference. Turns out that they didn't carry it. As I was talking to the lady she just turns and walks away. Are you kidding me??? My mother and I have even bought machines there and we are still treated as scum. Years ago I was trying to decide which embroidery machine to purchase. On my third trip back to make my final decision, I was asked to stop wasting their time since I obviously didn't plan on purchasing anything! You can bet I ordered it online after that. You might tell yourself that I just got a bad lady on a bad day. I wish this were true. I've sure gone back enough times but was always met with the same behavior. The snobby rude behavior is rude across the staff. Last October I was talking with some quilters at the quilters expo in Houston. Believe it or not, the rudeness that I experienced was not limited to me. They all had the same stories. I am done!!! I will order everything online from now on! read more

Don't bother...opens at 10..didn't even answer the phone until 11. One word responses to my questions by a very rude person on the phone. Charging $200 more than online and $150 more than another shop for the item I want. Thank you but I will take my business to someone who wants it. All I needed was industrial needles and quilt batting today, lady helping me couldn't find the needles so just walked away to help someone else without a word. The first time I went in I was looking to purchase my first machine. The lady who helped me was pleasant and helpful. I like that they go through and make sure everything is in the box and you know how to set everything up before you leave. The fabrics were expensive, but very nice quality. The second time I went in I had no problem getting help and advice for my project. They offer classes, but unfortunately they are mostly during the day. I wish they had more evening classes. Overall seems to be a great shop, though definitely pricier than some other places around town. read more

I was always a loyal customer of Creative Sewing before it became All Brands. I loved the customer service before, but I went back recently and the customer service was horrible. The woman that talked to me told me they no longer operate like Creative Sewing and then required $216.00 up front to take my embroidery machine for repair (that I bought new from Creative Sewing) it took two weeks and it still did not work properly and when I called and told them it was not working, they basically said they fixed it, tough! I will never step foot in that store again! I ended up taking the machine to another individual who fixed it like new for less than half of what I paid at All Brands. read more

DONT TAKE CLASSES HERE!!!! I spoke with you last week regarding two classes I'd taken at the west ave location(beg sewing &beg embroidery). As I stated over the phone both classes were not what was stated in the course descriptions. Beg sewing: basic supplies were not supplied like stated. I was told to use a couple bent pins to pin material together and was also told I should have brought stabilizer,thread,etc. half the class was spent running around the store looking for supplies. At one pt the instructor said to me how impressive it was I was doing French seams since I was a beginner....hello it was a beginners class!! Beg emb: once again upon arrival, instructor had no clue what class she was teaching. Like before, instructor ran around gathering supplies. The majority of the class was spent talking about sewing techniques. To top it off, the project wAs the same project done in sewing class....SEWING a pillow and placing a small monogram on it. When I spoke to you on the phone, you stated I should be receiving a refund in the mail which I Have not. Please let me know what needs to be done to get this matter resolved. Thank you! This was the email I sent the owner. Paid $120 for useless classes and got refunded $30. Worst waste of money. read more

I have been here before All Brand's took over. Was better before they switched everything except the employees who don't seem to want to be there. The selection is not what it used to be, the staff was just, alright. And be sure to tell them if you want the fabric you're paying for CUT, not RIPPED. I was still looking around to buy more fabric when I heard my fabric being ripped and had to put a stop to that. That's alright if you don't care about paying $12.00 a yard for fabric. I have decided to take my business elsewhere when I decide to shop in San Antonio. I realize they're there to sell sewing, quilting, and embroidery machines, but your gonna need fabric to go with that expensive machine, and preferably fabric that has a straight edge, not one frayed which means you have to trim it, losing precious fabric..... By the way, when I buy fabric, I generally end up spending in the triple digits. So if one did not receive the proper training on how to cut fabric, they'd better learn fast, because there are plenty of stores in Texas who have no problem CUTTING fabric, not RIPPING IT, destroying the fibers and design prompting me to buy it in the first place. read more

I wish I could give Vince Soll a negative number. He is one miserable individual and I can't imagine why anyone would do business with him. It is true that there aren't many viable options in SA for Bernina and Brother machines, but trust me on this one...it would be worth ANY distance you had to travel to NOT do business with this man. He has made my life very difficult and nearly ruined my business, yet he continues to blame me for his incompetence rather than take responsibility and make the situation right by his customers. I have a masters degree in business administration and wow! this man does not even know what customer service is. Good thing most of the world doesn't do business this way. I've had bad experience after bad experiencee at this shop. The employees are rude and not helpful. They are indignent if you bring in an older mechanical machine for cleaning and take a very long time to get it back to you. I recently inquired about buying a new mechanical machine 1008 and was told they didn't make them anymore. I kept looking around at their machines and found a brochure about their "best selling 1008 machine"! I asked another employee about it and was told that it could be ordered and was on sale. Forget getting any help over the phone. The owner of this store needs to take a closer look at the quality of the customer service he's providing. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I took an awesome class last week from guest teacher Cherry Guidry of Cherry Blossoms Quilting Studio. I am also a sewing instructor and have taught in most of the western states. Mostly for sewing machine dealers. But I'm a novice quilter. I have struggled to make my machine applique look nice and Cherry cleared all of that up. She is a complete professional. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Creative Sewing Center. They were completely unprepared. They didn't have the video system up and running to enable Cherry to show the full class all the details of her knowledge. They also don't feel the need to accommodate anyone with a handicap. I have to use a walker for my balance and rather than let me use a small iron at my table, they insisted I change places with another student. When I said no, I was told I could leave, without a refund. Nice, huh? Long story short, I stayed, moved, inconvenienced the class by monopolizing one of four irons and I apologized to the instructor. Not the store. One other thing. This class was billed as an applique class, which in a sense it was but it became clear right away that CSC was more interested in selling cutting machines than teaching the "old fashioned" way of applique. I was not sure that I wanted to visit this store after seeing the reviews, but my love of fabric took me there anyway. I'm happy to report that I had a fantastic experience there. The fabric selection was great as well as the customer service. I was greeted as I came in the door and also had a salesperson ask me if I needed any help as I perused the aisles. They gladly held fabric for me at the counter as I finished shopping, and the girl who cut my fabric was extremely nice and carried on a very pleasant conversation with me. I couldn't have asked for better! I travel a lot and visit fabric stores all over the country, and this one is a great one. I absolutely will come back if I am in the San Antonio area again! read more

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Purchased a PR650 "package" as advertised. The ad was definitely deceptive. The stands were not available. Heard so many excuses from the owner of the business. Had to finally hire an attorney to take care of the matter. Very sad considering I paid $9,649.00 with a cashiers check. Once they have your money, forget about customer service. It doesn't exist. I would highly recommend you purchase your Bernina or Brother machines from a more reputable dealer. One who spends a lot of money on machines should expect and certainly receive better customer service. The owner was by far the most rude and unprofessional individual I have encountered.
