I engaged them in 2005. Why am I writing a negative review after 11 years? My contact at Allen & Associates, the Senior Career Marketing Director (e.g. aggressive sale rep) recently sent me a LinkedIn connection request to which I declined. I'm a successful business owner, dare I risk negative feedback on social media. It's worth the risk as it was a horrific experience, lots of smoke and mirrors. The negative yelp reviews (including the 4 that are "not recommended" on yelp below) are accurate based on my experience. My biggest laugh was getting the excel list of decision makers, it was a D&B (Dun and Bradstreet) list. It included the President of Scotia Bank, and I commented we needed a floor or suite number as they didn't own the building...Ditto for the Home Depot President and the street name was spelled incorrectly. I challenged them stating my job level was such that it was inappropriate to send it to the President to read, or expect his/her Executive Assistant to pass it down a 2-3 levels to get to a HR manager to look at it. Yes, I had to pay for the stamps for my "campaign" 30 letters/envelopes... as I was told that I'm in Canada and they didn't have access to our stamps... and I believe them, but per the YELP review below, American's have to pay for them too!!! This was such a terrible waste of my money. I paid for their services about a year and a half ago and still have a bad taste in my mouth. I believe it was about $2500. They claim they will do a targeted company search, all I did was choose names from a very long list of local companies which I could have obtained on my own. I can't remember how many companies I was able to choose but there was a limit. I don't even know if those companies hire product managers... There was nothing targeted about it, they had no inside information or connection to these companies. They offered 2 hours of one-on-one career counseling via the phone with a career counselor of your choice. It turned out to be a joke - basically we just connected through LinkedIn, the woman talked a mile a minute and didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. They redid my resume. I was furious with the first draft. It was obvious based on the mis-spelling and the grammatical errors that the person who drafted my resume did not speak English as their first language. I insisted on someone else writing a completely new draft, but really all they did was re-word my existing resume. They didn't bother to glean any new, applicable information from me. The only thing new that I learned was to leave out the months of your work history, just include the year. The fiasco ended with a package in the mail. A portfolio with Allen and Associates in gold which I would never use and promptly threw away, a bunch of printed copies of my resume and some blank envelopes and a CD with a copy of my resume burned on it. Waste of paper, waste of postage, waste of a CD, waste of a portfolio, WASTE OF MONEY. Supposedly they sent an email cover letter along with my resume to someone (hiring manager, HR, who knows?) at the companies I chose. I received no phone calls, no emails, not even any auto-generated emails from any of these companies. I highly recommend that you do not use Allen and Associates when looking for a job. read more

Jamie K - is an obvious plant of a false review, he basically wrote a copy of the script they use. I am a former client, former employee (script reader), and former got my money back from this sham outfit. I don't know if they are in business anymore - should have all been indicted. It is like an unprofessional BOILER ROOM of high-schoolers that KNOW nothing about the working world. It is such a sham of an outfit. I actually DID know about the corporate world when I joined them under their false pretenses. I was scolded by the idiot in "charge" Paul Zoerner, when I refused to use their legally required script to discreetly cover themselves for all the lies they tell. I actually called the "suckers" I duped into giving a credit card payment to actually HELP them in their job search. A few others and myself actually felt disgusting-dirty after going home following a day of the garbage. They take your $, write a cover letter and resume for you, and give you a list of companies and "decision makers." This scam did not produce a single interview - only a big credit card bill... when I was unemployed. I had better success netowrking on my own. read more

I used this service and did everything they recommended to get a job and it did not work. I did all of the follow up and completed every step and nothing happened. In my opinion, it was a large waste of money. When I confronted them with this, they had no explanation and were of no assistance. I recommend spending your money in other ways when you're job hunting. read more

I agree and nothing the so called happy customers or Customer Relations employee says, makes a difference. Facts are facts. They work with 6 Figure Jobs to obtain your information and then the trap is set. My recent letter to them, here under, explains everything. Private information blocked out. Dear Sir. I was one of the unfortunate immigrant job seekers in 2010 to be swayed into a service contract ($2000) by your fraudulent misrepresentation of facts and the so called "job seek service" that you offer. I paid you $1000 upfront for which I received 30 letters, stamps and envelopes that I had to mail myself, and a so called campaign plan that required me to do all the work and to contact people of your list. This is information anyone could get through the yellow pages or on-line. Some of the letters that I have sent out was returned, "Address or person unknown" What a scam. I very soon realized that you do not have any special contact with employers or hiring managers as you have claimed, nor did you know about any open positions. It was also clear, based on responses from your so called contacts, that they did not know you or worked with you. I informed your correspondent that I do not wish to continue our relationship as it is not based on the truth or facts and asked for the $1000 to be paid back. I have returned to South Africa without ever obtaining a job in the US, least by you. I now only visit and do occasional business in the USA, based on my own skills and abilities and not yours. I was prepared to write the $1000 of as school money and lessons learned, but now your debt sharks contact my family (my daughter) or friends in the USA, harassing them for $1000, based on the so called "contract" that you have entered with me in 2010. To set the record straight. You can only enforce a contract that was truthful without misrepresentation and only if you delivered the service that was agreed upon and that was "commonly understood" by both parties and of course the requirements as per state law, California. Your contract does not adhere to any of the above and nor was the understood service provided. A contract based on fraud or misrepresentation is no contract at all.
