This…read morereview is solely reflective of their billing practices and the customer service of their billing department. After a billing misunderstanding which left me charged surprisingly, I called to clarify what had occured. Rather than being met with understanding or empathy, I was berated like a child, interrupted, and scoffed at repeatedly for questioning their decision, asking if the charge could be reversed, and explaining that I have an open insurance dispute processing that impacts this bill specifically. I just wanted the opportunity to have my dispute finalized so whatever I am charged is my actual responsibility. I don't think any family should be blindsided overnight with authorizations as a standard practice and it is not ridiculous to expect some kind of notice. Just a warning to current and prosepective patients, if you ever need the care and understanding you would expect from a doctors office during billing concerns, you won't find it here. And if this is the undercurrent that infoms their business decisions, I would also question their medical decisions. (As a side note, if there is suddenly a barrage of positive reviews immediately after mine then that also tells you what you need to know about how they respond to feedback.)

Unfortunately things happen, and in my case my toddler had a potty accident that set us back leaving the house this am. What makes this even more frustrating is that this office provided virtually no preparation guidance ahead of time. I had to repeatedly reach out myself just to get basic instructions about what to bring and how to prepare for the challenge. For an appointment involving potential allergic reactions in a child, the communication was shockingly poor. The staff were cold, rude, and acted as though we were an inconvenience rather than anxious parents trying to navigate a stressful medical process. If you expect families to follow strict policies for highly specialized appointments, then you should also hold yourselves to a professional standard of communication and compassion. We received neither.

He came highly recommended from friends, patients, and medical professionals as one of theist new ENTs in Kansas City. I can be a hard critic of medical care and their surrounding staff. As a physician and practice owner myself, I know full well the level of energy, dedication, and effort it takes to deliver great patient care. Dr. Stanley McClurg is one of the best ENT surgeons in Kansas City. His experience and extensive training as one of the few Rhinologists in Kansas City made him a perfect experienced choice for my surgeon. My quality of life is improved now that I can breathe well, sleep well, and I am thrilled with the outcome of my surgery. It has even stopped my snoring! The experience at the surgical center, with their staff, and anesthesiologists were equally fantastic. The surgical team were on-time, not rushed, and overall, the experience was a good as it gets in the business. I had earlier concerns regarding post-op discomfort, complications, and other issues associated with sinus reconstruction surgery. Dr. McClurg answered all of my questions and I was very confident and assured in his ability to deliver excellent care. I had very little discomfort and now feel amazing. After a couple of days of recovery I had the intranasal splints removed at my first post op exam at 5 days. The recovery was quick and comfortable. I missed a few days of work but could have easily returned the day the splints were removed. Dr. Stanley McClurg is a gifted physician with experience, talent, and good old fashioned caring that is making him a rising star in the KC medical community. My only regret from the experience is that I never got hooked up with Dr. McClurg earlier in my life. We are fortunate to have him in our city and I for one, and beyond grateful for his care. If you are considering seeing an ENT for yourself or family, I would recommend him highly.

At my second week, the blonde at the clinic today told me three times to remember my card, I apologized, she told me to wait until she was done she would check me in. She forgot and told me she has already checked in 50 patients and I need to remember my card. I was told in all 4 times to remember my card. I apologized and said I came by bc I got the text at my kid's swimming lessons and didn't have my wallet, my husband and kids were in the car. She didn't have to respond to that all all, but she did, and said, "we'll you were texted a week ago." I came and got 6 shots Friday 7/1/22 a week ago and was here again 7/8/22 for another 6. I came for the shot a week ago. I already apologized and the answer is, ''well, you got a text a week ago." so incredibly rude. She visibly rolled her eyes at me to a colleague in front of me and asked her colleague, "Did I say that?' I asked to move to the Olathe office (in overland park office) and she says, "great, I'm the nurse there, you want to see me in Olathe?' no. I don't. she is rude, wasn't looking at me at all when talking, she said she was noting in my chart. honestly, this is expensive. I think my first 9 weeks are $1800 and it's an hour a week. I would rather pay someone else than to pay and be treated like shit. when I signed up for shots instead of handing me the paperwork over the counter like a normal interaction that nurse handed it to me over her side so I had to stand awkwardly over a trash can filling out papers. I asked what insurance covers and she said, 'oh I don't call, you call. you have to figure that out." that is fine, I can call, u6 you can explain it more kindly. they are always busy, rushed, and rude. I heard twice how "I've already checked in 50 people today, it's busy.' well, that is your job. you don't have to treat everyone so poorly. for reference I did shots here from 2015 to 2020 and Aggarwhal allergy clinic in the early 2000's.

I like this office because it's small and I'm never stuck in the patient room waiting on the doctor like at other offices. The gals at the front desk are friendly and the in takes gals who do height and weight (don't know their job title) are quick and nice too. They also have an allergy injection clinic for their patients. These shots have helped my so much, I can now stand to be in a home with dogs and cats for several hours. This wasn't possible for me before and my seasonal allergies improved a lot too. Occasionally I have a hard time getting in here for sick visits because Dr. Wald's not at this office every day. So if you really need in you might have to drive up to their Overland Park office instead. But if you plan ahead you can get in here and it'll be fine. If you're looking for an allergy/ashtma doctor, I highly recommend this office and Dr. Wald too.

They have gone so far as to hang up in my face twice after scheduling an appointment and then canceling because of a sensitive or perhaps biased nurse practioner, who claimed that I was rude to her simply by expressing my discomfort during a visit. I guess she expects everything to be roses when a person is sick. Kelsey, put on your 'big girl ' hat and understand when a person is sick, they might not be as pleasant as you would like and know it's not personal. I will not be labeled 'the angry black woman' or will I allow you to get away with treating me so poorly for expressing my concerns to you during an appointment, one that I quite frankly don't remember because it was insignificant. In the meantime, please seek training - in diversity and inclusion, unconscious bias and definitely, customer service. Despite all of this mess today, I have received the best care from the best provider in Dr. Sherard. So will I be prohibited from seeing my doctor because their behavior continues to go unchecked? Before today, I didn't know there was a problem. I'm still reeling over the fact that they hung up in my face, the power they have! At the end of the day, I will continue to take this as far up as I need it to go until I receive a proper apology.
